River Tam
06 September 2013 @ 12:25 am
[River is grinning wide as the feed turns on and she only seems to get happier as moments pass.]

I got boots! [She laughs, utterly delighted by this and gives a kick in the air to show off her newly acquired boots from the Fruit Of Blessings.]

This means someone should come dancing with me. [She looks hopefully at the screen but wont' be disappointed if she can't find anyone. She will happily dance by herself at this point.] Anyone interested?

Demona
06 September 2013 @ 12:00 pm
[There is a soft female voice. If she didn’t sound so amused, it’d be easy to tell she is incredibly pissed due to the current circumstances]

Do tell me, are you actually helping this world and its war? I am sure all of you are dying [she loves to use this word when addressing to humans] to go back to your little homes, however, it’s no where in the contract saying you’ll be returned once the war is over and won, and the greyness is gone. It’s a promise, yes, but promises can be broken so easily, can they not? And gods are so fickle, aren't they?

Are we supposed to believe them? [Demona doesn’t laugh, however she hums]

So, do tell me more about the war, the greyness and the powers offered, I suppose. The introductory guide is... unsatisfactory to say the least. [ there is so much ice in her voice, she could freeze hell ]

Gaara of the Desert 砂瀑の我愛羅
06 September 2013 @ 12:10 pm
[In spite of the insomnia factor for the last fifteen years, Gaara is currently feeling irritable from lack of proper rest. He hasn’t been able to sleep in his own bed over the past few days. Why? Because an unconscious naked body is occupying it, and shows no sign of leaving anytime soon. Uttering a quiet sigh, he presses the jewel on his bracelet to address the network.]

To anyone with sufficient medical knowledge, your assistance is requested. [Gaara moves his arm to focus the camera on Soushi’s peacefully dozing face, and goes no further than that.] This individual has been asleep for several days. Based on my understanding, that is an extended period of time, and considered to be abnormal.

[Brief pause as he wonders what other information he should divulge.]

He is not dead. Both his breathing and pulse remain active.

[There's a red-head on the screen. She's got a half-eaten red apple in her hand. There is the most incomprehensibly sour look in her face as she's sitting there, staring at the screen with a mixture of emotions that war on her face.

Growling, she throws the apple like a grenade and scowls.]

They can all go fuck themselves. Seriously, every last one of them except for Riese. She gets a pass because she was dead at the time.

I'm done. Whoever's finding a way to stick around this damned heap of rubble when we're done screwing the pooch here? Yeah, I'm on board. I'm officially going on record and saying my home world's full of complete morons. Where's the damned whiskey? I need a drink.

[Someone had seen something just a minute ago that she couldn't take back and that she really didn't want to have seen. She found a bottle of something amber, checked the label and up-ended it before the feed cut.]

Eugene Fitzherbert (Prince Consort of Corona)
06 September 2013 @ 02:19 pm
[ Eugene turns on the communication and the first thing everyone will see...is white. White white white white -- and one big brown bag of opened flour and -- ]

Uh. I promise I'll clean this mess up after I'm done. [ Eugene the White Flour Man says next to the counter, looking very, very, very guilty. From the waist up, he's covered in flour. And the kitchen of Freya's House is not any better. Yes. That is the kitchen. See the outlines of the counters and the sink and the cabinets? Everything is covered in flour.

One can surmise by the larger amounts of flower circling the bag that it was forced open with enough strength that it exploded flour everywhere. Well, at least on the half of the kitchen where Eugene's standing with a bowl and spatula, wearing an apron that says KISS THE COOK over his usual attire.

It is going to take hours to clean up this mess. ]

In my defense, bags of flour shouldn't be that hard to open.

[ He puts the bowl and spatula on the counter. ]

Anyways, anyone with actual baking skills available to help me with a recipe?

Ril Sorrin
06 September 2013 @ 04:30 pm
[Ril's inquisitive face appears, bobbing a little as she adjusts the bracelet to prop and balance as she sits.  She's got the hang of finding things and mostly navigating, but she doesn't much look like she's slept any at all.]

I was walking, I was, since walking is better than being still and I was minding my own when straight in front of me.  A tree in my face, it was.  I suppose I ought to look where I'm headed a bit more careful-like, but it wasn't as if I'd said.  "Hello, I'd like myself a tree to come walloping in from nowhere, please!"

[She clears her throat and rubs at her nose a little.  Running into trees is worse than running into folk by ages.]

What do you call these fruits, then?  [She's carefully patting the orange colored apple that she's taken from the Chance tree.]  Lovely shade of orange.  I do assume they're edible and not just pickable.  But, do they taste good?  Because I'll be tasting it all day, I will, and you don't just go around eating alien fruit when it might--

Well.  I do suppose I haven't seen any bodies.  Still, new here, I thought I'd check.

Ah. There we are.

[ For as simple as the bracelet may have been Helena had spent a little time getting around it - partially from being amazed at how advanced it was, and the rest from being unaware of simply what she should do with it. But her investigation had shown her one thing, one important thing ]

I have to say, the amount of information we receive after being brought here really is astounding, I actually wish I'd learned nearly as much the last time.

[ The last time being after she was de-bronzed, rather than something like this. Although MacPherson had informed her well enough to get on he had missed off some of the finer details. For those looking around Helena they may notice the sight of the library around her - the large stacks of books are hard to miss ]

And it's nice to know that there's still more available, and a few souls that are more than willing to help a lady out. [ Helena offers a smile at that - for those that she'd met when she'd arrived; those that had spoken to her, or walked around Asgard with her ]

But there were a few things that I did have a question about, something that our delightfully informative gods, nor books, can tell us about, if someone would be willing to indulge me? [ Although she doesn't give you the option on that, she's going to simply ask anyway ] I was rather curious as to know what your thoughts on being here was? From what I can tell so far, other than this danger we've been warned of, it seems a rather charming place. [ Though as charming as it is she'd still like to leave - she has plans ] I'd be interested in knowing if that impression holds up after time, or what it becomes.

[ But now there's a pause. One where she looks a little more thoughtful during, and when Helena speaks again the jolliness to her tone that was previously there has dropped somewhat, as if she's trying not to hope in case this next part isn't true ]

There was also someone that I was looking for. I noted their name in one of the lists, although whether that proves accurate or is trying to give me some hope is another thing. [ The question of her true feelings, though, is something else entirely - something very well masked ] Her name is Claudia, Claudia Donovan. Would anyone know if she were here? [ She'll leave that question with you, both of them.

When the video shuts off Helena looks around, looks to the stacks in the library. She's simply looking more than looking for something specific. Though where to start is another matter. Choosing one of the stacks Helena heads towards it, slowly browsing the book titles as she passes. Maybe something will call to her ]

Isaac Lahey
06 September 2013 @ 05:35 pm
[Isaac is broadcasting from inside of a pretty wrecked looking place. The shelves around him are still in some form of disarray, water damage is soaked into the walls, and there are various animal cages laying on the ground with different sorts of pets in them- sluggish lizards in one, sneezy rats in another... all in all, the sight is kind of depressing, even if there are obvious attempts to clean it up.

He sighs.]

Right. I was hoping to not have to do this, but I think that the animals will get sick if we keep them here for much longer. Can you guys foster some of these while we're getting the store rebuilt? We can give you all the stuff you need to take care of 'em.

Oh. And- we're broke. Like, really broke. [Having over a week of no income, plus repairs, plus having to use product to keep the animals alive will do that to you.]

So... [Isaac sighs.] There are those apple things that give you money, right? Would anyone be willing to share some?

Maria Thorpe
06 September 2013 @ 05:37 pm
[It has taken Maria Thorpe a little over a month to work out how to broadcast from her bracelet. It has been an interesting and eventful month to say the least, and while she is by no means accustomed to this strange 'modern' lifestyle, she is at least attempting to adapt.

There are a few stumbling blocks, but with some ingenuity on her part she feels she is well on her way to overcoming them.

Take today for example; she is garbed in modern attire and is sitting in a modestly furnished kitchen by the looks of things, and she opens her mouth to speak.]

Good day to you all. I have been wondering for a while now what I should say on-

[Whatever it is she might have to say is immediately interrupted by a sudden and unmistakable:
BOOM
Something that looks like the charred remains of a kettle goes flying through the air as black smoke belches from the sorry form of the microwave. There's a crash as it hits the wall. Maria has dived beneath the table and blinks in disbelief at the mayhem all around her before she reacts in anger.]

A pox on this god damned blasted hellish-trickery, why must it take so much effort to boil a kettle?!

caroline forbes
06 September 2013 @ 08:52 pm
[ caroline is sitting cross-legged on her bed, in her room at the freya house, fiddling with something the camera can't quite see yet. her eyes are downcast and she takes a long, deep breath before starting to speak, brushing a stray strand of hair from her eyes. ]

So, I found this today. I ate an apple from one of those weird-looking trees that've sprung up, like, everywhere and then there it was. Hanging from a branch, like it'd been there the entire time.

[ she shakes her head and holds up the thing she'd been playing with to reveal a silver charm bracelet dangling from her fingers. her lips twitch up into smile, but it's a gesture tinged with sadness. ]

My boyfriend got me this for my birthday last year and it - well - it made me think. Do any of you have people you love back home, people you miss? If you could, would you ask the gods to bring them here?
