[Hello have a very annoyed-looking Nate, who has been a complete and total creeper and has been watching the network for days now without saying anything.]

So.

The big cheese finally shows his face, and you people all just decide to start rolling over for them?

[There's a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth as he swallows back a scowl. He shakes his head.]

Unbelievable.

This is a cult-- or, hell, something worse-- and you're all settling in like it's a dream vacation. Worse than that, you're encouraging all of these new people coming in to do the same. What we should be doing is looking for answers. Finding away out of here. Not 'Yes, Sir'ing our kidnappers like the good soldiers they all want us to be.

I'm not doubting that something strange is going on here. I've seen some crazy shit in my life, too. But this? This is a scam. And you're all falling for it.

[Mary's face flickers into view, showing a very confused-looking teenage girl who's staring into the camera (bracelet) with the intensity of a brain surgeon mid-operation. After a moment she seems to become aware that it's on and broadcasting, starts slightly, then sits back, talking at the camera with distinct awkwardness.]

Oh, god- is this even working? I- I think so. Okay, okay. [Clearing her throat and kind of sitting up a little.] Hi. My name is Mary Campbell and I know I'm not the only person trapped here.

[Deep breath. On closer view, she looks rattled. Like she's been crying, but long enough ago that she can hide it somewhat.] I don't know if anyone out there can hear me or if you know me, but I need help. If anybody can tell me what's really going on- and if there's any way to wake up. [Deep breaths, Mary. Keep it together.] I'd just really appreciate it.

[She takes a quick breath and moves as if to turn it off, but then abruptly spits out-] I'm in Sigyn. [She pronounces it wrong.] If that means anything to anyone. I don't know if it does. I don't know anything.

[A grimace (she knows she's losing her composure) and she turns the thing off abruptly.]

Okay, so. Weapons. We're clearly gonna need 'em, if this whole dragony-thing and Odin's mostly-useless-but-semi-informative babbling are any indicator. I know there are some good -- um... Various types of thing-smiths out there, but... I guess this is a poll? How many of you know how to make decent, strong weapons? And more important, I guess, is - how many of you know how to use them? Because if we're gonna become an army, we need to be well-trained. There's a lot of work to do. I'll do classes. Seminars, training - call it whatever you want.

[ Okay, that'll do for now. ]

[Hello, Asgard. If you're just checking out the feed, you may suddenly find yourself staring into the bright blue eyes of a very ordinary-looking man. He doesn't have any crazy hair colors, or seems to be wearing anything extravagant- he seems simple, and looks like the sort of person who you could easily forget about when you pass him by in a crowd.]

[But his eyes are what draw you in. For, they're as calm  as the horizon of a calm sea, and they just seem to pierce into you, as if he can see into your very soul with them. They're old eyes for such a young-looking individual.]

[After a while, he speaks.]

How interesting. This place isn't so different from back home.

So many people in one place, so many stories, so many tragedies and hopes colliding with one another. And so many flaws. But this is to be expected. Everyone is flawed.

[He smiles slightly, glancing at the city around him before he turns back to the feed.]

And this place is flawed too, isn't it? It is devoid of color. And if what I was told was correct, I have to help bring the color back. But is that in everyone's best interest, I wonder?

Tell me, people of Asgard. What do you truly want to do here? Do you want to help the gods? Or are you only playing along to get something more out of it?

...Are you the selfless or the selfish?

[With all the recent fuss centering around a certain deadman, it's bound to happen that a third party will interfere. Too bad that third party is Hazama.]

It has come to my attention that while we have a balanced ratio of men to women, some people are not just satisfied! First, it was assumed this person may have undergone some trauma that made him so, how can I put this delicately? Ah yes, sensitive to women in general.

He denied that right off the bat.

Next, others guessed he swung the other way! That ended spectacularly, as his denial became bigger than any ocean. And since I'm all out of ideas, all I'm asking from the wonderful people of this city is if you know some...other solutions to his problem. [He's not pointing out to this conversation whatsoever, nope.] If you do find one, please direct it a Kiyomasa Senji! I'm sure he'll appreciate your assistance.

...oh? His name should have been left out? Whoops.

[oh, it looks like another part of a video got added right after-]

And apparently he likes horses! It takes all kinds, I suppose. Any takers?

[He's mad. He's so mad.]

Oi! Oi oi! If you see a little shit named Minatsuki Takami don't talk to her, and don't listen to the shit she's been spreadin' about me!

She's tellin' people I'm an old, friendless loser and a........ virgin. [by the way he mumbles that it's almost obvious but--] She's just a big liar, alright?!

[Have a pretty upbeat seven-year-old, Asgard. The video feed has barely opened before Conan's started his exposition -- and does he have a lot to get through.]

Ne ... the dragon was pretty scary, huh? But a lot of people have been talking about getting ready for the next time something like that happens, so I've been thinking too! At my school we have earthquake drills and fire drills to make sure we're ready for an emergency. It makes them seem less scary because you know that if something bad happens, you'll be where you're supposed to be! So, I think we should pick places -- like the healing station at Folkvang and Heimdall, the park and also the hospital, for people to evacuate to in an emergency!

Also, Seth-niichan and I want to make emergency kits! This is supplies you keep ready so that in an emergency you can just grab them and get out of there! Things like first-aid supplies, food and water, warm blankets, rain gear ... Anyway, we want to make enough for everyone who wants them, so we'll need help!

Ayumi-neechan and Rarity-neechan ... I hear you're really good at drawing things! Well, I know Ayumi-neechan's good but I haven't met Rarity-neechan yet ... We could do with your help! Also anyone else at Freyr who can draw things, or anyone else with a job who has access to supplies we might need -- material, canned food, energy bars, flashlights, batteries, maybe candles ... Ah, I'm sure all of you have some really good ideas too! I want to hear them!

So if you'd like to help, please let me or Seth-niichan know! If you've got a better idea about evacuations and stuff like that, Merlin-san's been thinking pretty hard about it too! I can let him know your suggestions. Also, let me know if you want an emergency kit! Thank you!

[The allfather is looking pretty solemn when he addresses the network. He's seated at a desk with the backdrop of bookshelves -- very National Address-like, with his hands folded on the surface of the desk. He's not happy about having to make this statement, but he figures a little damage control is necessary, so here you go.]

I'm sure all of you noticed our little visitor the other night. First of all, we thank you for your efforts in defending the city and its populace. Repairs are underway, but they'll take a few days to complete, so pardon the dust.

More importantly, we're sure you're all wondering what this "war" is about. My colleagues have assured me that a fair payment for your work would be some information, so here's a rundown. I won't repeat it, so pay attention the first time.

This world is called Yggdrasil. It's divided into several countries, most of which are of no consequence to you right now. The important ones are Muspellheim, which is ruled by the fire giant king Surt, and Thrymheim, ruled by queen Thiazi of the frost giants. The closed gates in the city lead to those two places. The third gate leads to Utgard, which is neutral territory as of right now.

The war that was "declared" to you all is one that's really been going on for all of eternity. Prophecies foretell that the world will grow sick, and when it does the forces of fire and frost will battle those of the gods in a war called Ragnarok. At the end, both will be destroyed, and the world will be reborn into a new form.

Now I'm sure you're all going to hear that and complain that it has nothing to do with you, so you can hold your tongues on that until I've finished. The reason it has something to do with you is that Yggdrasil is the world above all worlds. It's connected to every single world any one of you Travellers has come from, and when it's "reset", yours will be too. Everything you've ever done, everyone you know, and everything you've ever fought for will cease to exist. A very lucky few will be chosen to survive and rebuild their worlds, but they may not be you or anyone you care about. And that's why you need to keep doing what you've been doing, and preparing for combat in the meantime.

The way this city looks is the sickness. It's begun to spread to other regions, and you are the only gamble left. If we can reverse the symptoms here, we can tilt the balance so that the battle will be won, and nothing will need to be remade.

If you have useful questions, you can ask, but I won't be comforting you or answering any demands. Your situation is as dire as ours. That's all.

My, doesn't it smell delicious in here! I certainly hope my new housemates will feel like sharing. It's much harder to flourish on an empty stomach, after all. ☆

Has everyone found their time here to truly be as simple as we've been told to believe? It sounds almost more like an unexpected vacation than a world-saving mission-- though I suppose there are still certain responsibilities that seem to have followed me here.

[lookin' at you, bros]

Well! Regardless of what may lie in store, I shall eagerly join you all in embarking on this grand adventure!

[ have a Jadesprite, carefully floating around the baking station and looking around with slight curiosity. she's not sure what she's looking for exactly, or what she's even supposed to be doing for that matter. ]

we are supposed to be making cupcakes, right??
this is probably a really dumb question but

how? ._.

Excuse me.

There's something I want to ask you.

Generally speaking, what kind of males do females like? Romantically, I mean.

I don't have any idea. I may be too dense to figure this one out on my own.

[Pause.]

I just that...I don't want to believe that all females prefer handsome men with cocky faces.

[He's just assuming that because he is pathetic and he knows.]

Sorry for taking up your time with pointless questions.

[the video starts up to show a short-haired girl, looking curiously right at the viewer—from her perspective, she's just checking out and poking at her bracelet. after bringing her arm up and down to inspect it from different angles, she finally settles on a comfortable and more natural position.]

So, uh... I guess this thing is on now? People can see this, right?

[she waves her hand at the screen and gives a smile... before realizing that, right, she's not exactly broadcasting live. with a small chuckle, she scratches the back of her neck, then continues.]

...Right, you guys can't respond until I finish this. Whoops! Anyway, uh, the name's Chie—Chie Satonaka! If it wasn't obvious, I pretty much just got here, and I'm still kinda confused about... well, everything. The girl that brought me here didn't exactly explain much, and I kinda figured that asking other people that were brought here would be a lot more helpful in the long run. So, yeah! I'm not really picky; any tips for a newcomer like me would be awesome. Buuut I guess if I had to be specific... is there any place to get some cheap, decent food around here? I'm starving, and I could seriously go for some steak right now.

[she laughs again as she's about to go, but right before she goes to end the feed, she remembers one more thing.]

Oh, and if you've ever met or run into anybody from a place in Japan called Inaba, would you mind telling them that I'm looking for them? Thanks a bunch!

Yo there, Midgard!

*You are being greeted through the video by a girl who is currently sprawled out across the entirety of one of the couches in the Baldr lounge.*

I'm invincible and living in a house named after a receding hairline!

What's your major malfunction?

16 January 2012 @ 12:31 pm
[The first thing that fills in the screen is ROSES. ROSES EVERYWHERE. And to follow up, it looks like a boy has searching around for someone. Although if you look more closer, it seems like judging from the nice legs, long hair and cute face? It's definitely a girl wearing boy's clothing.

And if you're around in the gardens, you may have noticed that this girl has been stretching her legs in the same place for the past five minutes. She looks kind of at a loss on what she should do next.]

Hm... Y'know, I thought that she would be hanging around in a place like this. She enjoys being around flowers, so it would make sense. Besides... It is a big garden, so we could've missed each other by an inch. Maybe I should give it one more go around before heading back to that place with the maid?

Now that I think about it, it's pretty creepy with how the people around here act. [If she could describe it, it would be like they were puppets in a play. No feelings, no emotions, no soul-- It's like seeing someone who wasn't all that there. It felt like they just went with the flow towards whatever anyone had told them to do. Maybe what disturbed Utena the most was how Anthy acted similar to these people at times... Even if she did not want to admit it.] C'mon, Utena Tenjou... Let's ask for some help.

Um, yo! Has anyone seen a girl with purple hair, green eyes and dark skin? Her name is Anthy Himemiya and she's a very kind hearted girl. If anyone has seen her around, then I'd appericate it if you could tell me where she is!

[Have a screen full of a very pissed-off Minatsuki, who's shooting a nasty glare into the bracelet's holographic screen and ranting.]

Hey. What in the goddamn hell's going on, here? Is this some kinda sick joke?! Well so sorry I forgot to laugh! Where's the twisted fuck who started this? I'm gonna kick your friggin' kneecaps in once I get my hands on you, dumbass!

[Of course she didn't listen to the maid's explanation past the use of the bracelet—she'd been too distracted with trying to attack her, only to find out that her Branch of Sin wasn't working. That just made things worse.

She sighs in frustration.]

Tch...Anyways. Brother? Ganta? Senji? Any of you guys here? No way I'm the only one of us who got dragged into this shit...

[Anyone around Hel will probably run into an angry Minatsuki who's trying to figure out just what's going on. She may not look approachable at all, but she is in need of answers.]

[Look, Asgard! It's a Sam! And not only is it a Sam, but it's a Sam that actually looks a lot more content than he has since he's arrived in Asgard. He's even not in the library, for once in his life -- he's poking around the Freya district, out of curiosity. But despite being outside and exploring, he's got something to say, so he's just going to make a PSA in the middle of a street because he ran out of fucks to give about looking normal.]

Hey -- it looks like we've got a lot of new people arriving in the city, so -- I'm Sam Winchester. It's nice to meet all of you -- and I thought it would be easier to just address the city as a whole instead of linking eighty million people to the same thing.

A couple of weeks ago, I made a guide to the various gods and houses of Asgard. It's still being updated and edited, so if something looks out of place, don't worry -- I'm working on it. It's kind of been a weird couple of days -- anyway, anyone can view it and access it or ask me questions. Consider it kind of like a welcome packet to the normal people who find this a little weird. And, uh, on that note --

[Sam turns slightly.]

Anyone figure out how to get past the wall yet?

[The feed ends, but a text file is sent en masse to all new residents of the city, bearing the text attachment Guide To The Gods.txt. It is easily downloadable and saved for easy access.]

[Those who know her will notice that Nakama has gradually begun to look calmer and healthier - her face has regained its childish pudginess, and there's not so much tension around her eyes. Today, though, she looks like she's on a mission.]

Hello, everyone. With so many new people arriving, I thought now would be a good time to bring this up.

When I was new here, I went around and mapped out all of the businesses in the city, adding them to the map we got when we arrived here. At first I was just going to use it to help people find their way around, but I thought it'd be more helpful if everyone could have their own copy. I don't really know how to make a picture an attachment on these bracelets, so I just made some photocopies.

[It took most of her first paycheque, but she did it. She holds up her original - all of the districts and the landmarks are there, but this one is bristling with dots and notes (in Japanese and the shared Asgard language) stating what each dot represents. There are cramped notes about the size and content of each business as well. After enough time to get an idea of what the map looks like, she lowers it again.]

If you'd like one, just let me know your name and room number in your district, and I'll have it mailed to you. You can screen your response so that everyone doesn't find out where you live, and I promise I won't tell anyone.

Oh, and sorry about the Japanese... I just thought I should do that in case I ever forgot the language we speak here for some reason. It's all a bit cramped, but I hope it's legible.

[Homura looks a little sheepish when she gets her bracelet working. Finding herself here has been confusing, needless to say, but she can't simply fret over it forever.]

Um... hello? T, This is working, right? I'm not sure what's going on, b-but my name is Homura Akemi, and I guess I'm in House Sigyn now...

[A small pause, as she fidgets slightly, adjusting the bracelet a little bit.]

I... I-I was wondering... has anyone seen my friends? [She got separated from them, right? They're probably looking for her, as well, right? Homura will hold onto that hope for now.] One has pink hair tied up with ribbons, and the other has curly blonde hair- t-their names are Kaname Madoka and Tomoe Mami, a-and um...

... If someone has seen them, could you tell them where I am? I would really appreciate it...
