So I've been wondering something. All these people have been bragging about powers and such. Honestly though, what do you guys really think about these abilities?

For those who had their original powers stripped away, does it feel like a fair trade or not?

I think that for those who never had powers, it feels kind of new right?

[Of course, he's not making it clear if he had powers himself or not.

Stretching his arms over his head, he yawns.]

It makes me wonder if the Gods had a reason for taking away our original abilities. Shouldn't a larger variety, possible offer more color to this world? Just think of it as a canvas where you can add all these different colors.

...or maybe I'm just thinking too much about it.

[laughs softly]

I've been wondering. Is there some sort of dojo or some sort of similar establishment around here? It wouldn't hurt to get some practice and prepare for whatever is to come.

[She pauses and taps the sheathed blade at her side. There's no reason for her to think of this place as being peaceful forever. She expects to fight or better said she's looking forward to it, if that brief glint in her dark eyes is any indication.]

I have to be honest though, I'm not used to sitting around and doing so little. At the same time perhaps, I should be grateful for the brief reprieve from my world.

[Grateful...at least that's what others would probably say. She on the other hand is rather bored to be honest.]

Mmm, I'm curious. What's the one thing that makes you yearn for your world?

[Perhaps she's just trying to justify her own answer to such a question.]

[Castiel's wings are gone, finally, and with the return of Sam, he's bothering to pay attention to the network once again. He's still a little tired looking, but subtly pleased with himself, at the same time. It appears he's broadcasting from a hallway in the hospital.]

Several of us noticed an increase in our powers since arrival here. Has anyone noticed one yet again?

[Castiel's just recently gotten a job at the hospital, using his damage drain ability, and though he's noticed slow improvement in terms of control of time, he'd just found out on accident that apparently his power has suddenly increased dramatically. He's not going to tell his family that story, but he's curious to see if he's the only one to notice a boost or not.]

[ The feed clicks on, to reveal one young blonde and a man at the point of 'midlife crisis averted' with a peculiarly-designed goatee. The blonde speaks first, as he adjusts his glasses. ]

Hello, this is Barnaby again, and my partner Kotetsu. Apparently there are very few people from Sternbild here, and many of you have been asking questions about-

[ The elder, darker-haired male rolls his eyes and shakes his head. He's used to Barnaby's formal speech, but is no less annoyed by it. ]

Oi, Bunny. We're not on TV, ya know! No need to be so formal! And besides ~ If you're going to introduce us, then do it properly!

[ Kotetsu grins and waves a hand at the screen. He's practised and rehearsed this at least a million times. ]

Yo! We're Tiger and Bunny and we're the super cool and badass Hero duo from HeroTV!

[ It's Barnaby's turn to roll his eyes. ]

Nobody knows what HeroTV is! I didn't write that!

Isn't that part of what we're going to tell them, though?

[
Barnaby reaches over off-camera, and picks up what appears to be a few pages- a goddamned script, of all things.

Kotetsu scowls and scratches his beard. His frown deepens at the sight of the script and he rolls his eyes. Yes, he read the script, but he's not very impressed with it or even the mere idea of having to follow it. Kotetsu has trouble listening to direct orders, Barnaby, you should know that...
]

Did you even read the script?  And don't tell them to call me Bunny!

[
The last part of that is a hiss. Kotetsu rolls his eyes again and raises his hands to make mock-bunny ears. ]

"And don't tell them to call me Bunny!"

[ Barnaby rolls up the script and gives Kotetsu's head a good smack, who yelps and cradles his head, throwing Barnaby a little glare while he grumbles under his breath.  ]

O-Oi ... ! Keh ...

[ He rolls his eyes, and looks towards the camera, sighing when he realizes that they never stopped recording. He's just... going to give up on... Yeah, they might as well abandon the script. ]

Anyway, since a lot of people were asking us what makes us Heroes, or asking about HeroTV, we've decided to open up the floor to answer questions together.

[ Kotetsu perks back up when Barnaby resumes the recording, nodding once more with a grin. ]

So ask away! Just no real personal questions!

Tiger and Bunny, over and out ~ !

[ Waves as he reaches over Bunny and presses the 'stop' button. The feed shuts off with a click. ]

[[ Yukari: So, guys, it's pretty self-explanatory- if you were giving these guys a hard time for calling themselves Heroes in their intro posts -/stares at tony stark- go ahead and ask them stuff about it! Kotetsu and Barnaby will be answering at their discretion, and threadjacking each other as they see fit. ~

PS: Ichigo Kurosaki is not allowed to ask Barnaby why he stole his voice. :>

[Miles is sitting in the living room today. As usual, he looks impeccably serious, and seriously impeccable. He most likely even fixed his cravat before starting this transmission.]

While I'm aware that information about other worlds' legal systems are accessible in the library, it is another thing to hear what the natives of these worlds have to say.

How are your laws enforced? Although of course, if you come from Earth in a contemporary era, the methods you and I know may be the same. ["May" being the keyword. There could be different Earths, anyway.]

Second, what are your suggestions and opinions on forming a patrol force here in Asgard? [No, he is not working to establish one, what are you saying.]

21 April 2012 @ 04:08 pm
[Lyon's been in Asgard for about a week now, and has met a few people, but she really hasn't been out exploring on her own yet.  She figures if she's going to be living here for the long haul, she might as well at least learn her way around some of the other districts and start exploring options for both work and training.  So throughout the day, she can be found in several places.]

1. [Action - Draupnir]

[Lyon heard before that the Prince works at the theater as a stagehand, so she's come to visit him at work and see what it is he does for a living around here.  She's also considering asking for a position herself in an effort to at least be able to be close at hand while he's working, even if she can't be around him all the time thanks to being in different Houses.  So between shows, she drops by, letting herself in and having a look around.]

Hello?  Is anyone here?

2. [Action - The Arena]

[If she's going to help the gods fight a war, Lyon needs to keep her skills sharp.  Thankfully, she had her sword with her when she came here originally, and the Arena seems like a pretty good place to practice.  Finding a sparring partner would be nice, but she doesn't really know anyone in Thor district yet, so that may have to wait.  But for now, she's taking a look at the coliseum, walking around and smiling a little wistfully.]

Wow, this place is huge!  It's even bigger than the arena in Stormfist!

[Alternatively, later on, Lyon can be found in one of the training rooms practicing sword drills by herself.]

3. [Action - Folkvang Comfort House]

[Fluttershy told Lyon about this place before, and they're supposed to visit with some other people at some point, but Lyon figures there's no harm in checking it out by herself ahead of time.  She'll mostly be hanging out in the spa, wrapped up in a towel and with her hair tied up.  Later on during the visit, she goes in to get a massage.  Lyon is of course here to relax after a good afternoon workout, but she's always eager to meet new people, so anyone can feel free to strike up a conversation.]

[The video feed this time around turns on to a slightly frustrated looking Nine. He's in his house in Heimdall, but there's the sound of two other voices coming from somewhere nearby. Like the other room, maybe?]

Right, so. While they're too busy arguin' over what t'do and what not, figured I'd give a little public service announcement to everyone still stuck here.

[He shifts a bit, fiddling with the positioning of his bracelet, and there's the slightest sound of buzzing from his sonic as he tries to recall the video memory inside of it and... presto! A slightly hazy still-capture from a video he'd sent to himself should be projecting across this strange network of sorts. It's of a building, run down and derelict, falling apart due to natural weathering, animals. But most importantly, it's obvious it's a hospital of some sorts.] Found this just a bit into the wilderness the other day. Some sort'f hospital, by the looks of it. Mostly human in origin, just going by th'general build of't.

[The picture fades, and Nine is back in main focus.]

The other Doctors'n I have been debating most the night, figuring out what t'do with it. Considering how much the Gods like t'meddle and mess with us, don't really figure this is gonna be some easy in and out with two or three people. So, we're plannin' an expedition th'day after next.

Shouldn't be too dangerous, just a few dozen people, split between the three'f us, each explorin' as much as possible. That being said, the three'f us - Doctors Nine, Ten, and Eleven, that'd be me, skinny with ties, and bow-legs'n chin - are gonna split up, lead th'three groups. Not sure which one'll be goin' where, yet, but we're takin' sign-ups for anyone interested.

[Pssst. Choose Nine. He's the sanest.]

[ooc: This is the IC planning post for the Quarantine Event! The expedition will be taking place on April 20th-21st (Day 70), and a mod will be putting up a log for it around that time as well!

The Doctors will each be leading a team, since the three of them can't seem to agree on how to lead a gaggle of explorers as one giant group! So feel free to pick a Doctor, or let the Doctors argue among themselves over who wants your character with them on this grand adventure!]

[ Hey there, Asgard. Have one ridiculously flawless blonde sitting in the shared area of Thor, trying to make sense of what's going on; more specifically, his bracelet. ]

It works remarkably similar to the call bracelets... [ Except, you know. Now it clashes with your outfit, Barnaby. ]

But there's an open communication line... Hello? Is anyone there? [ He adjusts his glasses as he inspects the screen. ]

It has more capabilities than the call bracelets, even... [ He's talking to himself rather than to viewers, and seems to be scrolling around through whatever piques his interest, not that anyone watching can see what that is, exactly. ]

Hmh... I am Barnaby Brooks Jr., Hero, and I just arrived here. I believe some further explanation is needed... [ Well... at least he's being levelheaded about his new circumstances.

His brows furrow at something on the screen, and the feed clicks off. Oops, guess he just figured out how to turn it off.

[So Yori has had a sudden realization, and it actually makes him kind of worried! The fact that there is apparently some flawed logic at work here makes him wonder if it means there won't be a Friendless Losers Neighbours Club any more, and that would be sad. Because he likes the club. HE WILL SEEK CLARIFICATION, obviously.

Guess who forgot to filter this post meant for just the club.]

I just realized something, and I'd like for some to clarify this to me because it's kind of weird and might mean something about the club!

This club is for people to learn how to make friends, right? And we don't let people who have friends join the club. So what happens if we're friends with each other?

((OOC: Feel free to threadjack because this is a thing that will probably happen whoops))

09 April 2012 @ 06:27 pm
[It started three days ago, when Sam had not appeared before, during, or after breakfast. Which was…a little unusual, but nothing to be alarmed about. But when the lack of appearances started piling up, with the addition of Lucifer’s presence and Sam’s instability, well, needless to say, Team Free Will had not reacted well. In fact, they had been combing everywhere possible for two straight days without sleeping.

So it is with great reluctance that Bobby finally turns on the feed to speak to Asgard at large. He’d rather keep it internal, or at the very least question only certain people, but with the nature of the place and how many people Sam knows, it would be more efficient to address everyone at once. He’s still a paranoid bastard, so he’s careful to triple check all of his filters before actually talking. Asgard is treated to the view of a weary older man, who either doesn’t notice, or is deliberately ignoring the large black feathers all over the couch and muted cursing in the background.]

Seems the original natives have gone missin’.

[And no moose in sight. That possibly ruled out Sam losing the bracelet, and could mean something worse happened to him. In any case, there was no point trying to search the gray people when there weren’t any.]

So what happens to those who lose their bracelet?

[He takes a deep breath, deciding there’s no point in putting it off any longer.]

Any of you seen Sam Winchester?

[Bobby shifts his bracelet to let him have a more comfortable view of the video, consequently allowing everyone to see one pretty boy angel hunched over and sulking next to a window, and his idiotic best friend wearing a hole into the ground while muttering up a storm.]

Great, big guy with a schmoopy face, kinda hard to miss---seems some people are pinin’ after him.

[He ignores the muffled protests behind him.]

If you see him, tell him we got a moltin’ turkey problem he’s gotta deal with.

Filtered to Merlin, Arthur, and Conan )

Filtered to Crowley )

Filtered to TFW )

[With that, he switches off the feed to try kicking Dean and Cas out of their funk. They have work to do, so there’s no time to mope.]

*Like many, Aoto is kind of just walking around the colorful town as he flicks his bracelet on.*

You know, I kind of got the impression from just watching some of you guys and gals go on over the-- ... whatever we call this. Braceletvision? Bracemo? Ah, whatever.

Anyway... It's kind of sad, but...

Most of you don't trust easily, do you?

Okay! Color's back. We did our job. Now send us home! You listenin', god guys? We all got shit to do back home, so let's get goin' here. Or am I suppose to click my heels and say "There's no place like home"?

Anyway, if they ain't gonna help, I'm finding my own way out. Who's with me?

hi guys!
i'm john. i figured i might as well introduce myself since there's not much else to do while i'm stuck in this dumb castle.
i just got here today but they said we can't go check out the city until the fog lifts.
is it foggy like this a lot?
because that would suck.
anyway they told me i was in freya house whatever that means.
actually it sounds like some kind of weird fraternity.
like i should go buy a sweatshirt or something.
and try to keep from getting put on double secret probation.

[Oh look it's this guy you should tell to go away already, on your video screen. Johnny, for a change, looks excited and happy as opposed to cranky.]

Hey losers. You ready to rock?

[The camera turns to show an amp set up on the front steps of Thor House, with a line if extension cords that leads back in through the doorway. Any house residents will definitely notice this.

Johnny sets his bracelet down, and positions it so the camera can show him holding a nice new electric guitar. Grinning, he plugs it into the amp.]

I guess I can take requests or some shit. But for now? I got some stuff I gotta get outta my system.

[And with that, he starts to play. I hope you like some punk tunes, Asgard, because that's what you're getting. Johnny is actually a fine guitarist, and manages to carry a song by himself pretty damn well. His gruff voice is perfectly suited to punk songs, too. Of course, that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

When he's done, he'll grab the bracelet and peer into the camera, smirking.]

You're welcome.

[When the camera turns on, it does not show Cheriour's usually smiling face. It does not show him being enthusiastic about everything or remarking about how happy he is to be among people he likes, or him doing something in his best attempt to learn about humanity.]

[No, the usually cheerful clockwork angel that is being shown now is entirely different.]

[For there is nothing but sadness and suffering in his face.]

cut for graphic content )

[ooc: Cheriour is now dead as a doorknob and therefore won't be responding to any replies to this post! The events that lead up to this are from here. His body, wings and all, will still be laying in Thor District if anyone wants to discover it. Feel free to thread amongst yourselves. ;; ]

[Hello, Asgard! It's the mutest babby today here on the screen with... a guitar in hand. From all judgments it's a pretty nice guitar; not the kind of thing you'd pick up at Gard-Mart or something like that, but a legitimately nice guitar; the kind you'd see a proper musician play.

He doesn't have anything to text yet, but he does have a song for you all to listen to! And while he is no Bardic Influence-y person (being in the wrong house for that; one letter off!), he is quite talented with a guitar; in fact, one might say he's guaranteed to blow your mind. Though he's not quite as good as that, honestly, he is very skilled, and very focused on what he's doing; it's not until the song ends that he looks up and presses a button on the bracelet, sending along a pre-formed message.]

Is there anyone else here who's into music or instruments or something like that? I know Rise was talking about putting together a concert, and I think that'd be really cool. If there's someone who'd like to start a band up with me or something - not just for one concert, but as a ... you know, for real thing - that'd be really cool!

[He smiles and waves at the feed, now, though he'll leave it on to talk. 'Talk', rather.

He does have a message to send out a little later, too:]

[Well hello, everyone! At about noon, one of your Gods has appeared in front of you again, cheerfully addressing the network from a nicely furnished living room somewhere (the decor matches the castle, perhaps?) Loki is completely chill about this, nowhere near as uptight as Odin was.]

Hey there, Travellers! This is your captain speaking. One of them, anyway. The name's Loki.

Are you having a good time? How about a miserable one? Either way, we hope you're not bored. The whole point is to keep you going, isn't it? The more you laugh and cry, the better the city gets. Have you noticed yet? It's working. Some things are getting pretty colourful by now, so we really have to thank you a little.

Good thing it's a special time anyway. See, it's the first day of Spring, so for our little world of Yggdrasil, it's the beginning of a new year! Welcome to year 416 of the Last Era, everyone!

To celebrate, to get the year off on a good leg, and to thank you, we'll be allowing another little Q&A here. You can ask us whatever you want as long as you follow a few rules.

One, we don't have to answer repeat questions. We might, but if you're all asking us the same thing we aren't going to explain it over and over. That's boring, and I'm sure you're all perfectly intelligent enough to look at the answers we give other people.

Two, we don't have to answer stupid questions. Self-explanatory, right? If you're repeating a stupid question you're breaking two rules, so don't do that. You might end up regretting it.

Three, you're not entitled to answers we aren't ready to give you. If you can't handle hearing "no", we just won't argue with you.

Simple, right? Now for one last thing, here's a couple of questions you can answer for me, if you want to.

How would you like it if we socialized more? Would it make you more or less comfortable?

Also, what's the #1 thing you think this city is lacking?

Ready? Go.

[OOC NOTE: The mods will OOCly be following the gods' IC rules. This means that if your comment gets skipped we aren't mad at you, it's just that we are all people with limited time too. ;)

This is also the post that will trigger the proving a point plot. If your character was chosen (the list is below), they should comment here asking about their powers. If you don't have time to do so, you're welcome to handwave that they asked and it was ignored, but characters who didn't ask won't be punished. If you were chosen and changed your mind about participating at all, it's fine to just not do it (it doesn't have to be an exact 10 that die), but if you want us to find an alternate, PM us asap so we can do so.

Now for the 10 victims, we chose 5 with more mental powers and 5 with more physical, and tried to pull from the biggest variety of canons as possible. The characters chosen to die are as follows:

Dying from physical powers: Buffy Summers, Cheriour, Dante, Rin Okumura, & Ririchiyo Shirakiin

Dying from mental powers: Charles Xavier, Kainé, Rose Lalonde, Shiki Ryougi, & Sweden

Characters chosen can die anywhere from now til March 31. It honestly doesn't matter if it all happens in the next few hours or if they're all at once on March 31, so don't agonize too much over timing. Just have with it. Check the linked plot info for more details! :)]

[Oh, look where Mami is! She's in the library when she turns on her feed. Just looking at her face, one can tell that she's very happy about something. In this case, it's the result of a little research into rock and roll.]

Nfufu...MicoMico! Mami found a really good book about rock music! She's going to sing for you now, okay? Because she understands why you like rock music so much now!

[She clears her throat. Who cares that she's still in the library? She's read the sheet music, thinks she knows the tune, and definitely the lyrics...go!]

She's no Mona Lisa!
No, she's no playboy star.
But she'll send you to heaven...!
Then explode you to Mars.
She's using her head again...just givin' the dog a bone!

Is that the kind of music you like, Johnny D'Amico? [She says his name fully, just to implicate him in this.] This is why you wanted Mami to learn rock music, right? Don't worry, MicoMico! Mami's sure you'll find someone nice to be with someday, you can't fill the void with music!

[Never mind that Mami thinks the song is about kissing. She may be lewd, but she's still thirteen.]

Mami will pass on rock and roll! Mami and 765 Pro are going to be putting on a concert of their very own, very soon! Everyone should keep an eye out, ufufu! [Is that a challenge to Rise...?] It'll be super big! 765Pro will show you how to paint the town all sorts of colors!

still don't get why the people in charge don't just hire a team of landscapers and a bunch of people to paint everything

that'd be a lot easier, right?

[As the screen flicks on the Tenth Doctor gives a mock grimace, rubbing the side of his neck as if unsure about something.] So, Norse Gods? Really? I'm not too sure on that one. Guess that depends on the dimension? Though if they'd been around all this time I'm sure someone would have noticed... Oh right, of course- silly me. I got distracted.

[Not that the Doctor looks very sorry or concerned about it as he gives the screen a wave.]

Hullo everyone. I'm the Doctor and I guess I'm the newest guest in your little community. I have everything I need apparently, my bracelet, a map, good things. I wouldn't mind my sonic screwdriver but that is a bone of contention I'm not going to get into for a while. At least five minutes anyway.

I'm the Doctor. Just the Doctor before anyone asks. Aaaaaand yep. That's about it. I'm not really good at blogging. Nice little communications system this place has going though! Wouldn't mind a look at that, though that would require my sonic screwdriver.

[At that the Doctor pauses, looking at his wrist.]

Okay I lied, that was two minutes tops. Law of averages says that if I'm here, there'll be people I know here. So speak up or forever hold your peace! Or just say hello later on, that's alright too I guess..... hm. Right then. Time to have a look around this place, take a look at what's going on with my own two eyes. Alons-y!
