If you could take anything... well... any one thing from here back home... something that isn't a memory or a person. What would you bring back home with you? If you would bring back anything at all, I suppose.

I've just been thinking, now with Thiazi... gone [She doesn't really want to say dead.] that things feel like we're far more likely to be getting close to the end of things. It's a terribly serious thing to talk about, which is why I suppose such a serious question...

[She tries to brighten herself up, offering a smile, though it is half-hearted.]

It doesn't have to be, though! I'm sure... well, perhaps it's best to think of something fun and lovely instead.

It is winter again. We had the wonderful festival last time. Perhaps we should do something smaller but something like it? [She wasn't sure that anyone would be in such a mood for a thing, but maybe so?]

Those who knew Bunnymund, the rabbit's gone home. And you know what they say, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

It's just you lot and me now.

[He doesn't care, but this might stop someone from accusing him of elaborate foul play.]

if you want to pretend you dont suck theres a courier service in heimdall that might be hiring
though id advise against applying if the oncoming icy apocalypse doesnt interest you
this express delivery caboodle was intended for military purposes from the start even if its actual usefulness is probably some arbitrary percentage generated by rng
and thats on a good day
but hey at the very least you get to learn how to be a little less useless and maybe even profit off your power
heres a visual advertisement if thats more your bag

Hello everyone!

My name is Alice Liddell, the younger one, for those of you who mayn't have met me before. I'm on the welcoming committee here! I was speaking to Miss Harley and we were discussing welcoming baskets for new arrivals with things they might need to know.

One of those things would be the pamphlet and yes, the reassurance everything going on here is very much real. However, we were also thinking of all the guides everyone has written, some small first aids for their rooms and homes, and someone recommended spirits, but I don't know what that means.

So I was wondering if those who have written guides, and those who have any medical supplies, little things like band aids and the sort, could share them, if you don't mind terribly?

I was also wondering... I thought, with the lovely snow... [Which reminded her of Jack, of Jamie and so much fun...] well I just had a question for those who have been here a bit longer, to try and make us remember that things like this snow and the sort are lovely and to remember those lovely things.

So I just thought I might ask... what is something lovely to you that you hope to do when the fighting is all done? [Because Alice must believe, she must have faith, and hope, and dream of a 'when' not an 'if.']

[There are twelve dead scarab carcasses in view all around Equius. He's not completely visible, and in fact most of him is shrouded in low light in the basement. He's clearly been cleaning the basement, and a few blue welts are visible on his skin. He has a contemplative look in hsi face, shrouded in the darkness of the room's gloom.

In front of him is a robot of Aradia, cold, lifeless and statuesque. It doesn't move. It's not clear until he speaks that he intentionally turned the feed on.]

It is my duty to inform you collectively that my moirail Nepeta Lejion has left the city. [He sounds howllow.] Some of you have images that she drew. I will send them on as she would have wished.

[A scarab came into view on the robot's shoulder and he grunted, knocking the thing off. His fist raised and slammed into the ground. with a sickening crunch.]

I could use a sparring partner. Preferably a durable one.

[Lilly had been taken to the job fair by a helpful Asgard citizen, who had explained to her a little more about powers and how they could be used to help the city in the fight against the Giants. She knows about her power now! That is new. She'd been told she had one upon arrival to Asgard, but she'd been distracted and had barely listened.

Then the visitors and her sister's arrival among them had distracted her again-- when Victoria or Mama are around, they become her whole world, and she pays attention to little else. But now Victoria's gone again, and the rest of Asgard is coming back into focus.

She faces the bracelet display, holding up her hands with the palms out.]

En'gy.

[... Okay, she's going to go to text, because talking is lame.]

energy taking it giving it i'm supposed to do it. i'm a medic they said. they will teach me to help sick people.

how do you do the energy i can't do it.

[... Grammar is lame, too.]

[Lilly, for the most part, has been staying in and around her Welcome House during her time in Asgard-- but once she heard that there were a lot of new people hanging around outside the palace, she couldn't not go and look for her family. And, happily, luck seems to have been in her favor, because she's greeting the network today looking absolutely thrilled. There's an older girl of about eight or nine sitting next to her, looking a little unsure about this whole thing.

Lilly speaks first, sounding just as happy and triumphant as she looks:]

Victoria! Sister!

[After a few seconds of silence, she nudges Victoria impatiently. They look at each other, and seem to have a little conversation with facial expressions alone-- Victoria raises her eyebrows, and Lilly frowns and nudges her again. Finally, Victoria bites her lower lip and speaks. She doesn't seem to have the serious aversion to talking that Lilly does, but in some ways, she's actually the more shy of the two.]

... Hi. Can everyone really see me?

[Like the other visitors, she has a bracelet of her own visible on her wrist, but hasn't used it yet. She self-consciously pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose before continuing.]

I'm going to take Lilly and let her stay in my tent with me. Is that okay? Her room is really smelly.

[She glances back at her sister, and they have another few moments of nonverbal communication before Victoria turns back to the bracelet display.]

That's all. I'm going to turn this off now. Bye.

[And she does.]

[OOC: Replies will come either from Lilly, Victoria, or-- most likely-- both of them at once in the same comment!]

[One of these days, Samantha meant to do one of these addresses somewhere outside of her lab. But, at this point, it had become a security blanket. Part of her was just used to doing something with her hands, and right then she was going over a series of notes she'd acquired from Sophie. A beaker was bubbling, and there was something dark green in it. In the background a stone humanoid shape could be seen.]

Some of you know Draco and Castiel aren't with us anymore. Since they and Euri disappeared, Asclepius is still open, though I'm going to leave to Sophie any announcements she's got on how things will be running over there. But, in the meantime, Pinch of Sage is going to be one of the only potions shops in town. There's still apothecaries among the natives... but at the same time I seem to have inherited several new recipes. Sleeping draughts are still pretty popular, go fig. If you used to buy something from one of those shops, I can probably make it now, but stocks are getting limited. I've rebuilt my greenhouse two times since I got here, and I've had it reinforced, so I can grow a few of the magical herbs, but my stock from Utgard's almost dry, so I can only make what I can grow or get from Alfheim.

[She snorted a little sardonic laugh at that. A link was put into the updated potions list available at Pinch. Just below them are the Prices.]

Oh... and since we're all getting back on our feet from having this place remind us how close we are to the final battles... take what the Doctor says to heart. [Her eyes hardened and she frowned.] This isn't over until you're dead. I'll keep brewing this crap to help you guys until the bitter end, and I'm not one to give up even when I should. I am going to stand over that cold-hearted witch's ashes and laugh before they ship us home. Mark my words.

[ in the feed, river can be seen wearing a newly appropriated dress, a nice green and flowing thing that billows out around her legs in a passing breeze. she's standing up somewhere high, the surface rounded and colourful; her ( bare, as always ) toes curl around it to give her balance, and she's staring down at them with wide eyes. ]

Finally found her. She won't stop crying.

[ there's a creak of metal, and river goes to one knee, just in case, braced against a fall that doesn't come. her head tilts curiously and you know what, fuck it. she's just going to lay down completely, one ear pressed to the roof of the carousel in the dark carnival. there are a few natives telling her to come down, as well as a few ghosts hovering nearby; no signs of anyone crying, and river pets her hand across the space beside her head. ]

Shh. Don't be sad. It'll all be over soon.

[ ooc; just a little bit of newbie metaplot for y'all! this is sort of forward dated to later on day 450, so i guess i could've posted it tomorrow but i do what i want, thor. just in case, river's permissions post is here! ]

[Hey, Asgard. Have you ever had to hear a terrified feral six-year-old throwing a tantrum?

Unfortunately, you're about to.

For Lilly, forgetting Asgard memories had been disquieting-- it felt funny, and it was always confusing when they suddenly came rocketing back to her. But now she's periodically forgetting Mama and her sister, and that? Is just not acceptable.]

Mama! No! Victoria! Mama, Mama, Mama, Victoria, Mama!

MAMA!

[There's the sound of small palms slapping the ground in frustration.]

Stop now! Help! Come-- come back!

[She smacks at her bracelet display, and the feed ends there.]

[Adachi looks extremely uncomfortable one what amounts to a massive video chat with an entire city. The fact that he's holding his head like its about to split open doesn't seem to be helping him any.]

U-uh... hey, Asgard?

[Wow that was timid; he might have been overplaying it a little, but his head was killing him at the moment.]

Did anything... weird happen to anybody last night? 'Cause weird sure happened to me.

[He started rubbing at his head, moving his hand away to reveal a nice bruise where his head had hit his bed post when he blacked out.]

...feel like m'on a bender without the actual bend.

When people disappear, is there really nothing we can do to get them back?

If we can be brought here once, I don't believe there is no control over who comes back. I need to speak to someone who can bring people back here.

[It's rare Bunny uses the network, even rarer for him to use it to speak to the people of Asgard in their entirety. He's just not a fan of technology. But now, more than ever, he knows everyone here needs an injection of what he gives out best: hope. And so, the video screen fills with his furry face. Behind him, are what look to be the starts of a project of some kind. Paints, paintbrushes, and pans of something bubble away.]

Right, now we've got ourselves a break in our regularly scheduled madness, I'm going to take the chance to talk to you all about something important that's coming up, next handful of days, I reckon, unless my timing's off: Easter.

[He gestures to his fuzzy self.] For those that haven't met me yet, g'day. I'm the Easter Bunny. I know some of you haven't got Easter where you come from, but I promise I won't have that stop you if you want to get involved, everyone's welcome to this. For those of you that don't know what it is, it's simple.

[He holds up a little painted egg] This is an Easter Egg. On Easter morning, I hide these all over the place. Then it's your job to find them. You can eat 'em, too, they're chocolate. Nothing like the ones I can create back home, but I'll make sure they're still worth it. It's more fun than you can shake a stick at, and it'll bring you all some much needed hope, too.

[He grins, seemingly triumphant; though over what it's hard to tell.] Any questions?

[When the video clicks on, Turlough's giving a little smile at the camera. However, he's not looking directly at it--instead, he's looking at...something on the other side of the room.]

After half a year or so living here, I've finally found a good use for this stupid power. Watch!

[The bracelet moves back to see two tiny little birds flying in the air as well as a squirrel on his desk, enjoying a piece of bread with peanut butter on it. However, the birds and squirrels suddenly look towards where Turlough is (off-screen), obviously a sign of body control to anybody who knows the signs.]

Now, let's do this, [he says, more to himself than anything else. Suddenly, the birds fly up near the top of the ceiling, wings flittering around what are obviously spider-webs, knocking them down on the floor. The squirrel climbs up a dresser, then the top of the door, then to the top of a tall lamp, even taller than Turlough--obviously things are set up so that the squirrel could jump to the lamp. The squirrel vanishes in the lamp for a little bit before popping it's little head out--Turlough lets out an aggravated sigh.

Throughout all of this, the birds are beating back spider-webs with their wings. The squirrel climbs back down, out of the lamp, and all three animals line up on the floor, perfectly still. Turlough now moves the bracelet back into view, obviously proud of himself and obviously unaware of the fact that animals cleaning a room is ridiculously Disney.
]

You see? The birds get the corners of the ceiling that I can't reach, and the squirrel in theory changes the lightbulbs--I had forgotten how tiny their little paws are, though. Does anybody have a better idea some sort of climbing mammal that can change lightbulbs?

[There's the sound of a crash. Apparently Turlough forgot that when they're not being body-controlled? Squirrels are horrible little fuckers.]

...let me fix that first.

[and off goes the bracelet!]

[The fighting ended yesterday, but Lilly's still being cautious-- because while there are certain ways in which she's surprisingly fearless, loud noises and explosions are definitely not something she's used to. She'd spent a good deal of the battle hiding under her bed as much as possible, and hadn't left Freya since she'd met up with Nepeta.

Right now, she's lying on the floor in front of her bracelet display, regarding it seriously.]

Boom.

[Dafuq was that, guys. Luckily for her, her district isn't dealing with the worst of the aftermath, but still.]

Awwwl done?

[Nepeta and Lilly are standing out in front of Freya's Welcome Hall, looking a bit tired out but - in Nepeta's case at least - very satisfied at a job well done.

There are crudely-drawn posters stuck not-quite-straight on the walls behind them, some of them depicting a blond little girl and the others a woman with masses of dark hair.

They've just finished sticking them in front of not only their god house, but every single one in Asgard, along with placing them on random walls along the way, so it's very likely that some Travelers have already run across them.

Yes, it took a while.]

Ahem. Attention efurrybody purrlease! This is really impurrtant!

These are Lilly's Mama and her sister Victoria.

[She points at the posters behind them.]

We don't know if they're here and we don't think they are yet, but if anyone sees them or meets them if they arrive, let them know Lilly is waiting for them! She'll be here at Freya house, okay?

Thank you!

((ooc: responses may come from either or both of them!))

[ Hello, Asgard, this is probably a very familiar face by now! Only-- Wait.

There's something wrong.

1. He's soaked. Not so much that he's dripping water (except for from his hair, a bit), but all the same. 2. He probably looks on the younger side. 3. The bow tie is gone and in its place there's a regular tie. What?

As he realises it's recording, a grin spreads on his face and he raises a hand to ... tap at the screen. Not that there's a screen you can tap, as such. ]

You know, thing about hologram screens is that you can't really tap them. Isn't that a shame?

Hello! This is a sort of network, yeah? I'm talking to people now? I hope so, because I have a very, very important question.

[ Clears throat.

Dramatic pause. And then he gets distracted because he has to burp regeneration energy. But he doesn't even react to it, and just continues. ]

Does anyone know where I can get an apple? Or happen to have an apple you can give to me? I really want an apple. Love an apple.

[ Doctor, out. ]

((OOC: The Eleventh Doctor has been cursed for one day! There's a catch-all log for it here with a scenario anyone can jump in, but it's also there if anyone would like to do something else.
