--all the times to disappear!

[Had the gods been merciful, they would have…well, not brought anyone here against their will, but that’s beside the point. Had they been merciful to anyone who happened to catch this on the network, the message would have been audio, not video. Unfortunately, the speaker, who doesn’t appear to realize the device has been turned on, continues moving the hand holding the bracelet erratically, turning the picture into a blur and probably giving anyone still watching a headache. You're welcome.]

It's my spaceship, he says. Doesn’t explain why I’m in the middle of a great, whoppin' city when I should still be in the TARDIS. I’ve had enough of old cities and their gods, thanks. And now these strangers want us to help them after they kidnapped us. Bloody gods! Couldn' have picked a better time to plonk us down here?

[Some more movement of the picture, though it finally stops and settles when the speaker slips the bracelet into her pocket.] Now where has everyone else gone off to? Even the TARDIS is gone!

[Even through the formidable temper, the undertone of worry is obvious to anyone who listens closely enough.] If you can hear me, Doctor, don’t think you’re getting out of explaining this one. I can think of a few things to say to you right now, and I’m startin’ with: Not. Happy!

I have never encountered a varied set of emotions. Specifically, sadness and grief. Despite this, I know there is a way to remedy them. I have seen it. I have thousands of instances of it recorded within my memory from observation and experience. They do not last forever. They are not permanent.

But I do not know how to remove them.

Is it a physical process? An emotional transformation?

I need to know in order to maximize my own efficiency within this city and work on returning to my own universe to fulfill my purpose.

[He's mad. He's so mad.]

Oi! Oi oi! If you see a little shit named Minatsuki Takami don't talk to her, and don't listen to the shit she's been spreadin' about me!

She's tellin' people I'm an old, friendless loser and a........ virgin. [by the way he mumbles that it's almost obvious but--] She's just a big liar, alright?!

[LOOK UP IN THE SKY.

IT'S A BIRD. IT'S A PLANE.

NO?

It's Selphie suffering from a bout of boredom and a great gaping need to put a little spice into her training regimen. So throughout the many districts in Asgard will be one Selphie Tilmitt apparently attempting to commit suicide in the stupidest way humanly possible. Why yes, there is a young woman either in the process of climbing onto the roof of many a building and trying out her luck in jumping across to another nearby roof or leaping from the edge of said roof.

She has the devils luck after all but what are you going to do about it? Stop her? Join her? Egg her on? Freak out like there's no tomorrow?

Or if you ever needed a clear indication of just how crazy Selphie can be, this is a pretty good indication. She'll be doing this all day so there's no knowing what she's getting herself into.]

[After the challenge of the scavenger hunt was made, Freyjadour decided it would be a good idea to head to the library to try and figure out what the gods were hinting at. It seemed like meeting the God's challenges would benefit the people of their houses, so even if the tasks posed were a bit strange, Freyjadour figured it was probably worthwhile to participate in the long run.

So early that morning after the challenge had been made, he tells a few of the people he runs into on the way out his destination and then heads to the great library in Odin's district, seeking out some sort of lead. Perhaps there was information about the gods of Asgard somewhere among these shelves.... and maybe answers to their riddles. He'll be paging through various books on lore of different worlds for a good portion of the day, not really knowing where to start but determined nonetheless.

Although he can't help but at some point looking to see if there were books from his world as well. Falena did have a long history, afterall.]

[There's a new face outside Heimdall's Welcome Hall. It's a confused face. It's also a concerned face. But it's also a face that would normally be friendly and open, so it seems to be having an identity crisis at the moment.

Keith Goodman, to whom the face belongs, wonders for a moment if his city, the city of Sternbild, has a patron god. Or gods. Then he discards that idea, since he would have known about anything like that. At the moment, he feels uncertain about things in general, but it would be hard not to be. On his own in a strange place, wearing his suit and gear (none of which works), and toting his helmet under his arm, he hardly feels like Sky High. Which, since he knows he can't manipulate so much as a light breeze, he guesses he isn't. At least for now.

Thinking of "for now", he makes a metal note to find out more about the power he does have. The sooner he's able to figure out his place in all this and start doing something about getting back to Sternbild, the better. After all, there's a manhunt underway for a dangerous NEXT, and his friends and fellow Heroes need him. Keith Goodman, formerly Sky High, wonders just how long it takes to "bring life to the world".

But, confused or not, a little disheartened or not, and duty bound or not, Keith Goodman knows how to follow instructions. He can see that he's arrived at the destination on the map he was given, and he can see that the bracelet device is working properly. If there is one thing he doesn't need instructions for, it's making an introduction. A script would be nice, but he couldn't find anything to write with. Determined to do the best he can, Keith pushes his bangs back out of his eyes, squares his shoulders, and addresses the holographic screen with a smile.]

Hello-- to whoever can see and hear me! I'm Keith. Keith Goodman. I guess it's okay to say that I'm a Hero from Sternbild, since my identity doesn't seem to matter here. I didn't see the point in wearing my helmet anymore. It doesn't work and it's pretty hot in there. so I hope that's all right!

[There's a brief pause, as if Keith were trying to remember his lines.]

Normally, I really like meeting new people, even if it's a surprise. I haven't met anyone yet, but I hope to meet you very soon. I'll do my best to be a good member of the group. I'm sure that with good teamwork, we can do whatever it is that needs to be done!

I know that being brought here must be inconvenient for everyone, so I'll try not to complain. Though I wouldn't mind hearing how others are handling it, of course! I was wondering, though, is there anyone else here who was in the middle of something really important at home? Something you were needed for?

[Realizing he's deviated from his "script", Keith shakes his head as if trying to clear it of worries. He smiles.]

I don't think I've been assigned any quarters yet, but in the meantime, I'm where I'm supposed to be. At least according to the map, I am.

Well, I'd like to say thank you for hearing me out! So, thank you!
[Somehow Keith manages to hold onto his helmet while flipping the screen a salute.]

[There's a thought running through Selphie's mind and it's one of those ones that she's been trying to think through on her own but really hasn't had any luck in doing so. Maybe she should ask some of her friends in the house first but something says to talk to some of the others in Asgard as well. She's just not entirely certain on how to explain her thoughts out loud so this post actually takes her quite some time to write out so that it makes sense.]

Say... I've been thinking about something for a few days now and I'd like to hear what some others who may or may not be experiencing the same thing think about this.

Say for example, that there's someone that you've never met before but is convinced that they know you and even knows the names of some of the people that you grew up with. How do you manage to convince them that you're not the person that they think you are? Furthermore, what if the person that they think you are looks a lot like you to the point that it being a super freaky coincidence isn't going to cut it?

[ Tidus is wagging his wrist, suggestive that he smarted it somehow. After muttering something about a stupid bracelet, he glances at the screen with small surprise and seems to forget all about bruise forming on his wrist joint, a result from hitting his bracelet against a table until it worked. ]

O-oh, hey! Hey! Has anyone seen my old man—err, I mean Jecht? I've been looking everywhere, and I haven't seen a sign of him!

[ Evidently, there's a PB&J sandwich sitting nearby. He takes a generous bite out of it and talks with his mouth full. ]

Y'know, I ha' a fee'ing tha'—[ swallow ]—I'm not where I was supposed to go. I mean, I've never heard of a place called Asgard before. And who is this Thor guy, anyway? I don't recall ever pledging my allegiance to him. I swear, if this turns into another Yevon situation, I'll… I'll show 'im!

[ He sighs and takes another bite of his sandwich. He doesn't even know what his options are. With a headache forming, he ends his train of thought prematurely and scratches the back of his neck. Then, he seems to address the screen more personally. ]

Look, Dad, if you're around here… well, I'm not in a hurry, I guess, but I want to say a few words to you now that everything's settled. And you being here also means I'm in the right place, which I feel isn't the case. Or who knows, really? So anyways, just say something or come find me, if you're there.

And to everyone else? The name's Tidus! I'm from... [ shrug ] Zanarkand!

[ Finished. He pops the last of his sandwich in his mouth. ]

[Some people have no respect for a good night's sleep.

Those up at the early hours of the morning just might be treated to a boy calling out for friends, "Reeku" or "Kairee" atop rooftops around the city. Sora's first impulse, naturally, is to search for his friends.

Sora's second impulse, between attempts to disrupt local sleeping schedules, is to explore. It's a new world, and despite the minor inconvenience of being kidnapped by Norse gods he never knew existed, he's rather optimistic about finding a way out. This is totally a temporary stopover. It always is. His travels throughout the day take him from district to district, from the Hospital, to the Arena, to Gefion Park. Luckily, his last leg of the journey takes him to the Carnival in the evening, where local ghosts are quite helpful in helping him puzzle out the functions of the bracelet(when they're not trying to scare the marbles out of him).

Sorry, Asgard. Sora's very first broadcast of the evening has a spooky start! It zooms in on the face of a gaunt, pale-faced ghoul. The ghostly image only persists until Sora's much healthier complexion squeezes into the picture beside it.]

Whooaa... it's working!

[Sora turns to the ghost, unfazed by its unearthly appearance.] And this is gonna help me find Riku and Kairi?

[An affirmative moan from the ghoul, mostly an incoherent murmur as it retreats from the foreground. Unfortunately, the ghoul hovers eerily above Sora's head, peering down at the viewer for the duration message. Only slightly unnerving.]

Well, if anybody out there's listening, I'm Sora. I'm trying to find my two friends. One's named Kairi. She's got red hair, she's about this tall and probably the friendliest person you'll ever meet. Then there's Riku! He's got messy white hair just like this guy. [Sora jerks a thumb at his ghostly friend.] Riku can be kind of grumpy sometimes, but he's a really good guy once you get to know 'em.

If you see them, let me know right away, okay?

[He very nearly finishes the message, but then he remembers! There's a burning question reserved for his housemates in Freya. Unfortunately, his attempt to send it exclusively to the Freya House ends in failure. All of Asgard is posed the question:]

// Failed Private to Freya Housemates \\

By the way... Have any of you guys tried using your powers yet?

[The feed ends with him looking a little sheepish, maybe even a little flustered.]

[ooc: Feel free to  tell that kid yelling on your rooftop at all hours of the morning to pipe down, or to run into him at the Carnival.]

Oh, right, this thing! So, this is a holographic telecommunications device, complete with camera, phone, and text messaging. Crafty little thing, though, looks like it has an automatic turn-on feature. For what, I don't know. Maybe it's like a candid automatic! Catches you doing embarrassing things, that's fab. You could record something and post it on Youtube, get a laugh out of--

Well, there isn't any Youtube here, is there? Which is really a shame. All those cat videos just out of reach. I suppose you could start a separate network to just share silly camera videos. Could you do that? Could we do that? Doesn't seem to be any rules to using this thing, does there? Let's see...

Oh, it's broadcasting.

Hello! [ he waves, grinning brightly. ] You know, it's a bit rude to eavesdrop. Then again, it's not your fault. Automatic turn-on feature, like I said. If you managed to hear that, earlier. Now, let's see! Who all is here, hmm? Could we have a roll call?

If that's possible. There is a commenting feature on this, isn't there? ... yes, there is. Thought so.

And don't be shy! We're all aliens here. Oh, right. Introductions. I'm the Doctor, the Caretaker, or, if you like, John Smith. No, nevermind, no, not John Smith. Just the Doctor. How about you all?

[Sup Asgard, Selphie hasn't been able to bother you lot for quite some time. See, not only is she a clumsy little thing who periodically gets buried in her own snow fort by certain 11th squad captains, but she also lost her bracelet for quite some time. Thankfully, a good, thorough cleaning of her room has produced the bracelet as a loud cheer can be heard coming from her room.

It was under her bed. It's true; it was always in the last place she looked. At any rate, she's looking at the video feed from her bracelet with a sheepish grin on her face.]

So uh... I kinda misplaced my bracelet for a little bit but I managed to find it today.

So... what's up? You guys didn't go blowing anything up without me I hope!

[Good day House Freya!

Your littlest housemate is going to be going around knocking on your doors to say good morning to you all and whether you're a morning person or not, you're wide awake now right? She's a social butterfly so you'll have to forgive her for waking you all up. She's mostly harmless, honest. Just... don't give her a rocket launcher and things will be just dandy!

Afterwards, she'll be popping up in various places throughout the many districts of Asgard. If she's chatted to you over the network, she might be looking for you to finally meet you in person. If your name happens to be Snow and should he happen to have his pink haired lady friend with him, Selphie owes them both an apology for bringing up what appeared to be a touchy subject.

Much later in the evening though, she'll be heading back to Freya's house with her cheeks a bright rosy pink from the cold air before she wanders toward the common areas in search of something to eat.

Who knows who'll she run into today?]

[So today, Frey woke up in a different bedroom then he had previously.

He didn't know how, or why but he'd somehow ended up waking up in a room in Freya's hall, rather then his bedroom in Heimdall's. His things were there, too. He's probably going to be wandering the halls for several minutes this morning, curiously trying to figure out what happened before resorting to using his bracelet.]

This morning I woke in another God's house, different the one I arrived in. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a reason for it?

[.....Ah...]

My name is Freyjadour by the way. Freyjadour Falenas.

[He should at least be introduce himself if he's going to ask questions, right? And it might help him locate anyone from home... if there really was anyone else here. He had been keeping a close eye on the people talking through this thing, but so far, no luck.]

[Later that day, though, he decides to investigate the district more thoroughly and enjoy the sight of snow. It wasn't something he'd ever seen before, given Falena's warm climate, with the exception of the northern mountains.]

[HEY EVERYONE, LOOK AT THIS DUMB GUY!

No seriously, have an image of the biggest loser you'll probably ever meet (and quite literally too), leaning back in a chair that seems almost too small to hold his bulky frame. He lifts a large, practically ape-like hand in a greeting wave once he can see the bracelet's view is focused on him, somewhere over the table in front of him and right beside his huge, boot-covered feet – where they're propped up against the table's edge, of course.
]

Heeeey everyone! So I don't wanna be here any more than the rest of you do, I'm pretty sure, but... have you guys tried the food here?

[The sentence is barely finished before he's cramming one of the exotic delicacies before him into his mouth. It should be plainly obvious to the audience what it is.

A peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich.
]

Mmmm! We don't have stuff like this— [He pauses to swallow there. Yep, he was talking with his mouth full.] —where I come from. What was this called again?

[In the background, a very audible sigh can be heard – along with what, rather than an answer to his question, sounds a lot more like, "Stop that... you're going to break the chair." The voice is obviously female, but it sounds... well, bored. Nonchalant. Like this is par for the course.

It pretty much is.

Blondie here just chuckles merrily and starts chewing on another sandwich.
]

I've got this, Sis. No need for the lecture. ... Aaanyway, so uh... my name's Snow. Snow Villiers. [The way he pronounces his last name sounds more like "Vill-ee-ahz". He pauses to let out a satisfied belch and then starts leaning even further back in his chair again as he talks, looking quite the image of the oversized little boy that he is.] —So yeah! You guys need me for anything, just say the word! Doesn't matter where I am, I'll be there as fast as I can. That's what a hero's for, after all.

[He grins crookedly and flashes the camera a wink. However, that's when there's a shift of movement – a slender, gloved hand that's most definitely not his, which abruptly catches hold of the back of the chair when he's not looking and— in the next moment, one of the man's heavy black boots is flying across the camera as he tumbles backwards. Cue the crash and the distinct sound of flailing.]

—Who-o-oa!

[And then Snow's grinning sheepishly as he hauls himself to his feet again, letting out a short laugh and rubbing the back of his head.] Well! Guess I shouldn't have been leanin' back like that.

[Yep... he's entirely oblivious to his "unseen" attacker.]

( OOC: Anyone in House Heimdal is welcome to bother them in person, too! :3 )

11 December 2011 @ 10:49 am
[The video clicks on, showing Riku looking rather unimpressed and leaning against a stony wall. For anyone in the area can see him or that can recognize it, it's the bank he's leaning against in Heimdall's district. He's been out exploring a little bit here and there, mostly keeping to himself though.]

So it's been almost a week since people started arriving here. Doesn't seem like there were a lot of people before we came here, aside from the locals, and gods of course.

[He sounds a little skeptical and cynical at gods. Call him jaded, but Riku doesn't like being used as a tool for higher or better beings of power anymore.]

It might be too early to tell, but has anyone noticed a difference in the city yet?

[A pause and he looks almost contemplative and pained for a moment, but it quickly disappears.]

Since we seem to be on the topic of finding people, I'm looking for two. A boy named Sora and a girl, Kairi. If you know where they are, just tell them Riku's looking for them.

((ooc: just as a note, tags might be a little slow until tomorrow. Sorry in advance))

10 December 2011 @ 10:03 pm
[Rikku managed to figure out this darn thing pretty quickly, so no randomly images of faces, hair, or whatever this time, folks! Just a slightly concerned Rikku.]

Um, I was wondering if anyone's seen anyone from someplace called Spira? Yuna, Tidus, Lulu, Wakka, Paine? Gippal? There's more but I'd be here all day if I listed everyone I'd be happy to see so....uh, if anyone mentions being from Spira, tell 'em Rikku's looking for them!

[She grins]

And now the boring part's done! Anyone had a chance to explore the city yet?

[After experimenting with the bracelet she'd been given, Selphie was left with a bit of a debate. Text or Video? She's still a bit confused about why she's been brought to Asgard but she was a little bit too cold to stay outside for very long. She liked the cold and was used to it but a jacket would've been appreciated as she sat huddled in a chair as she tried her best to keep warm.

Let's just say that Selphie will gladly kill for a sweater right about now.]

So... this is place is called Asgard and we've been brought here to save it, huh? It's kinda like home but I'm worried about my friends. Has anyone seen them? They're names are Squall, Zell, Irvine, Quistis and Rinoa. They're my family you see and I care about them a lot so if anyone's seen them, could you let them know that Selphie's looking for them?

Also... does anyone know where I might get my hands on a sweater? I feel like a popsicle right now!

And can anybody see this? If so, drop me a line! I can't be the only one feeling like a fish out of water right now. I'll be staying at Freya's house so if you wanted to come visit, you can do that too!
