[After having spent the last month or so doing research on her own, Keine's work has produced results sufficient for her to go on and introduce a governmental-esque system that she has decided would likely work, considering how people might end up disappearing in this city. She'll show up this midday on the feed, her amiable personality outstanding as ever.]

Good afternoon, fellow Travellers of Asgard, new and experienced. To those that might not recognize myself, I am Keine Kamishirasawa, a Healer from House Sigyn, and formerly a historian from Gensokyo's Hitozato, should you know of it.

I speak to each and every one of you today with a purpose, ladies and gentlemen. After my previous post about a month and a half ago, with my proposal for an election of representatives and leaders from amongst us. Now, for such a system to exist albeit the possibility of such elected representatives being sent home at any given time, research and other countermeasures would have to be drawn up to ensure that it would run smoothly. I have done just that, and have drafted up a system which will allow us to do just that.

Cut for length! But recommended reading! )

(( ooc: So there's that. This is her proposal for a Traveller-run governmental-esque system so it will be important for your characters to know what's happening. Additionally, tags will come at a later time, but I'll be sure to get to them! ))

[ when the feed clicks on, loki is sat — lounging — in a not-immediately-identifiable place, his attention — bored, disinterested, a mixture of self-satisfaction and contemplation — focussed on one of his hands, which he furls and unfurls briefly before speaking. ]

I do believe that at one point it was writ that there would be a glorious battle in which Odin would fall and with his death, Asgard would burn. Instead of rising from the ashes as one might hope, the realm would instead be submerged in water, and from there it would rise anew, fertile and fresh, ready again to bear life. [ a pause, and the disinterest fades for a moment, and loki redirects his attention to the bracelet, lips spreading into a momentary smile. ] The truth is debatable, of course — words are ever so malleable, and Asgard has always been fond of [ beat. ] magnitude. I must admit, I'm a little disappointed. I've heard tell of war, battles held before we arrived, and battles to come, but what has there truly been? [ pause. ] A puddle. I fear tales of Asgard's demise — if you do indeed believe this realm to be Asgard — have been greatly exaggerated.

The All-Father himself does not speak with his subjects, with his people, and what king is there that, in his realm's time of need, neglects them? Refuses to console them with tales of what has been done and what will be done, promises that whilst he is above all in status, in this they are together. I do wonder, has he not thought that perhaps if the gods themselves were to show a little [ the corners of his lips quirk. ] heart, the process of restoration would be far quicker?

[ loki falls silent for a moment, apparent hesitation tinged with regret and remorse gracing his expression. he sighs audibly, heavily, before continuing. ] Of course, I may be wrong. This may only be the beginning. We have been divided into houses — separated from one another — and few have seen their gods. The Norn predicted that alongside the death of Odin, Thor would fall. Freyr would fall, and Balder[ he pauses, eyebrows arching briefly. ], it is said that it is his death by the hand of Loki that brings about the end of days.

Do you not fear that you have been brought here for chaos and chaos alone? What greater delight would there be to one claiming the god of mischief's name than to watch the Nine Realms be cast into discord by his hand? [ he leans forward slightly, the humour briefly fading from his expression. ] I don't doubt there's a war coming, Asgard, but I do doubt for whose honour it'll be fought. I do hope, for all your sakes, that there aren't too many inter-house friendships being formed.

--e see if I did this right... There. I think. Now I... step back and it'll stay? Good.

[Someone is getting used to this bracelet technology.

After the initial fumbling with the bracelet, Maya steps back and sits down on what looks to be the front steps of the Freya Welcome Center. Thankfully things are drying out, so she's not worried about getting wet. An ornate nodachi rests against her and her right arm is in a sling.]

I must admit, my school wasn't exactly focused on traditional academics, so I'm a little rusty on my Norse mythology. Some of these gods I know about - like Odin, Thor, and Loki. Some of the others I've never heard of before.

[She brushes some of her hair behind her shoulders.]

Anyone care to help a girl out? And if you can come over here to Freya that would be even better. Talking using these bracelets is weird. Whatever happened to cell phones?

I promise, I won't bite.

[Action at Freya welcomed!]

[ You now have one (1) very sour-looking Aesir among you, Asgard. Have fun. ]

How dare they call this Asgard... [ He turns his gaze on the camera- oh. Make that one very sour-looking, handsome Aesir. Handsome or no, though, he is glowering and most displeased. He chuckles, though, as his expression changes, cause he's going to humor you chumps for all of five minutes. Use it well. ]

Well if this is 'Asgard', then where is your king? I wish to speak with the All-Father of this realm.

[It's been some time since Castiel posted, because his life has been alternately full of drama and oddly peaceful; the former times take his attention, the latter he's been trying to enjoy. But there are things to be done, and he's not going to fall into complacency.]

Many of you have likely seen Sam's information on the gods of this world. For those that have not, it can be accessed here.

I am interested in hearing of those who have encountered gods in their own worlds, and what they were like as well as what occurred. For those that have not encountered gods themselves, any experience with supernatural beings that might be considered religious in nature, such as angels or demons, would be of note as well.

[[ooc: Castiel is starting some scouting for people who might have some sort of interest or experience that would be useful in the little rebellion that's forming, so anyone who'd like to have their character involved, this is a place for them to start becoming so~ If you can't think of a good reason why they'd respond though, feel free to PM me and we can handwaive something!]]

[ The man staring at the screen is furious. His eyes are completely black except for flares of red light (almost like stars), and when he speaks — ]

This is unacceptable.

[ The feed clicks off for a few minutes, and when he returns, Dream is much calmer than before. ]

Gods they may be, but there is work which I must attend to.

And if there is no way to return, then someone will pay for the repercussions. [ It isn't a threat, despite the weight of his tone. More like a promise. ]

[ filter: Delirium ]

My sister, Delirium. I do not hold your sigil, nor do I stand in my gallery.

[ ... ] I suppose it matters little here. Will you speak with me?

I saw a lot of people objecting pretty strongly to the idea of forced physical affection, and it still happened. I guess that shows how much our opinion matters in the end.

[Yeah, she's still a little bitter, even if that event led to her relationship with Roxas. She heard Hanako's reply to Heimdall's post, and all the pain and anger vibrating through her voice, and it's set her off all over again.]

For future reference, gods: we don't like being forced to do anything. Not die or be stabbed, and not sing or hug people, either. Remember the opt-in events? They were better. Even if I was angry about the scavenger hunt after a war had been announced, it was better.

We're doing our best here. You don't have to force things along by removing our free will. You never know what will upset someone, and upset captives don't lead to the best situations. [Is that a threat against the ruling powers? Someone really has changed since she arrived here.] So if you're honestly asking for opinions, here's one: don't take away our free will again.

[And she briskly cuts the feed.]

Hey, everyone.

Now that I'm feeling better, I thought I would update the god post with information on my world's lore concerning them and with the established power listing. You can download it [ here ].

I've also put together a source where anyone can look back on when the gods have spoken to us, seeing as they're picky on what questions they allow to be ask. You can look at any of the archived conversations [ here ] to see what they've said and haven't said. Or if you want to form your own opinions on whether or not you believe them.

If you have any questions, my feed is always open, and if you have any additional information, I'll be happy to add it to the two posts in question.

Thanks.

-- Sam.

[Rather than a fancy, professional room, this NPC post comes from what appears to be the outdoor stage at Draupnir in Freyr district. The god himself is seated perched on the edge of the empty stage, completely open to the city. He's in good spirits too, and gives a bright smile as he addresses the network.]

That was quite a show you all put on yesterday! A much better way to generate emotion than some others, don't you think?

With that in mind, I'd like to greet all the newcomers to Asgard. I am Freyr, one of those who rules over the city. Though my House is smaller than most, I hope its members don't find it lacking.

And on a final note, I'd like to ask your opinions. How comfortable are you with physical affection?

[As always, we won't be able to get to every one of a large number of replies, so it's nothing personal if your comment isn't responded to! Also, this post is open to action, if your character happens to be in the vicinity!]

[After waking up next to a stranger (who, admittedly, looked vaguely familiar but considering how many people he has met in his lifetime, that doesn't mean much) - rather, clinging to a stranger (which was actually not nearly as strange, after all he is a clingy sleeper) - well, after waking up like that, and in a completely unfamiliar place to boot, Sweden stole out from the bed and after gathering what he could set out to either find a way home, someone whom he knew, or at least understand what had happened.

This results in a boy of roughly sixteen walking the streets of Asgard, wearing clothes that don't match at all - PJ bottoms and a tunic over it that was probably used to protect clothes from getting dirty while cooking, judging from the stains on it. There just was nothing else to wear there what are buttons what is a doublet. He's also carrying a sword with him.

He will do some wandering and stop to tinker with the bracelet every once in a while. If he sees someone use a bracelet, he will stop and watch them doing that, and approach them once they are done. (this is the action option here)

A while later, he has the bracelet figured out enough to produce a video message.]

Name 's Sweden.

[There is a pause. Is this thing really making him talk to someone, or is he ust making a fool of himself by talking to thin air? He moves a bit, apparently deeper into a backalley.]

Th's cannot be Asgard. 'veryone is speaking Latin.

Th' buildings don't look old, either. [Not like they looked before Christianity came around, that is.] 'm wonder- [And then he suddenly slides into song. At least he doesn't feel compelled to raise his arms over his head and dance, so he can keep a bit of his questionable, given his appearance dignity.]

-ing, are you ready to take part, arms up and you will see, come on [And so you get treated to all of Caramelldansen.]

[Freyr has set up camp in the middle of the commons of Freyr house. He's wearing a beret and has an easel in front of him and is surrounded by small metal pink pigs. On the paper before him he seems to be drawing another pig similar to the ones around him. There are some sketches around it where it looks like he was trying to draw the insides.]

This is really hard... Freyr has never had to think about how Gullinburstii works before. It was a lot easier to take tools and tinker with them than it is to try and draw them....

[He sighs deeply and puts down the pencil.]

What is the point of drawing to life if Freyr can't actually draw things that move and interact. This isn't fair at all.

[Oh, look, Asgard. Alan's decided to actually grace you with his own voice today. Pay attention, it's one of the only times you'll ever get to hear it. Unless he comes outside and you meet him.]

Question.

Fiction, or non-fiction?

[ This time when Battler shows up on video, he's in the library, several books are laid out before him. Nedless to say, he's been doing his research. ]

Heh.... Even I have to admit that the Gods have put together a pretty impressive game. .... Normally, in a mystery, the motive isn't confessed so early on, but that might not be the case. This entire world isn't like any ordinary crime in the first place, is it?

[ He stands, beginning to pace around. Even as a witch, he wants to try to solve whatever riddle this place might have. So, Asgard gets to hear the full fruit of his efforts. ]

So, I've tried to take another stragety in trying to solve this Game completely then the one I've had since I woke up from Rokkenjima! The only way that the Gods could have snuck each and every person here is by using drugs to bring others here. So, they must have snuck drugs into their victim's food and brought them all here by boat! As for the location... This has to be a small island somewhere!

Sorry, but even if I understand that there might be a heavy motive to this game... I still have my own promises to keep.

[ He points at the screen ]

How's that? Even if as the Endless Sorcerer, I can still be one of the detectives on this board! Because of that, I'll uncover this place completely!!

So I've been wondering something. All these people have been bragging about powers and such. Honestly though, what do you guys really think about these abilities?

For those who had their original powers stripped away, does it feel like a fair trade or not?

I think that for those who never had powers, it feels kind of new right?

[Of course, he's not making it clear if he had powers himself or not.

Stretching his arms over his head, he yawns.]

It makes me wonder if the Gods had a reason for taking away our original abilities. Shouldn't a larger variety, possible offer more color to this world? Just think of it as a canvas where you can add all these different colors.

...or maybe I'm just thinking too much about it.

[laughs softly]

How many people's heads exploded, and whose?

[more information about the store will be available on request.]

[ The feed clicks on, to reveal one young blonde and a man at the point of 'midlife crisis averted' with a peculiarly-designed goatee. The blonde speaks first, as he adjusts his glasses. ]

Hello, this is Barnaby again, and my partner Kotetsu. Apparently there are very few people from Sternbild here, and many of you have been asking questions about-

[ The elder, darker-haired male rolls his eyes and shakes his head. He's used to Barnaby's formal speech, but is no less annoyed by it. ]

Oi, Bunny. We're not on TV, ya know! No need to be so formal! And besides ~ If you're going to introduce us, then do it properly!

[ Kotetsu grins and waves a hand at the screen. He's practised and rehearsed this at least a million times. ]

Yo! We're Tiger and Bunny and we're the super cool and badass Hero duo from HeroTV!

[ It's Barnaby's turn to roll his eyes. ]

Nobody knows what HeroTV is! I didn't write that!

Isn't that part of what we're going to tell them, though?

[
Barnaby reaches over off-camera, and picks up what appears to be a few pages- a goddamned script, of all things.

Kotetsu scowls and scratches his beard. His frown deepens at the sight of the script and he rolls his eyes. Yes, he read the script, but he's not very impressed with it or even the mere idea of having to follow it. Kotetsu has trouble listening to direct orders, Barnaby, you should know that...
]

Did you even read the script?  And don't tell them to call me Bunny!

[
The last part of that is a hiss. Kotetsu rolls his eyes again and raises his hands to make mock-bunny ears. ]

"And don't tell them to call me Bunny!"

[ Barnaby rolls up the script and gives Kotetsu's head a good smack, who yelps and cradles his head, throwing Barnaby a little glare while he grumbles under his breath.  ]

O-Oi ... ! Keh ...

[ He rolls his eyes, and looks towards the camera, sighing when he realizes that they never stopped recording. He's just... going to give up on... Yeah, they might as well abandon the script. ]

Anyway, since a lot of people were asking us what makes us Heroes, or asking about HeroTV, we've decided to open up the floor to answer questions together.

[ Kotetsu perks back up when Barnaby resumes the recording, nodding once more with a grin. ]

So ask away! Just no real personal questions!

Tiger and Bunny, over and out ~ !

[ Waves as he reaches over Bunny and presses the 'stop' button. The feed shuts off with a click. ]

[[ Yukari: So, guys, it's pretty self-explanatory- if you were giving these guys a hard time for calling themselves Heroes in their intro posts -/stares at tony stark- go ahead and ask them stuff about it! Kotetsu and Barnaby will be answering at their discretion, and threadjacking each other as they see fit. ~

PS: Ichigo Kurosaki is not allowed to ask Barnaby why he stole his voice. :>

[Miles is sitting in the living room today. As usual, he looks impeccably serious, and seriously impeccable. He most likely even fixed his cravat before starting this transmission.]

While I'm aware that information about other worlds' legal systems are accessible in the library, it is another thing to hear what the natives of these worlds have to say.

How are your laws enforced? Although of course, if you come from Earth in a contemporary era, the methods you and I know may be the same. ["May" being the keyword. There could be different Earths, anyway.]

Second, what are your suggestions and opinions on forming a patrol force here in Asgard? [No, he is not working to establish one, what are you saying.]

18 April 2012 @ 04:20 pm
[You're in luck today, Asgard. The King of Jerkasses is feeling less trollish at the moment and more idly curious.]

Tell me, how many of you come from worlds where what you would call "magic" exists? And are there any treasures or artefacts that are capable of creating miracles that would otherwise be impossible according to the natural laws of your world?

12 April 2012 @ 05:50 pm
[Now that Freyr has had some time to settle in to his new surroundings, there was a mission to address. Said mission? Calling out his doppelganger, alternate reality clone, fake, or whatever the Freyr of this world was to him. It was really the only proper thing to do, for all he knew he could wake up one morning getting stabbed to death or something creepy if he didn't deal with this double business soon enough.

Of course Freyr could have done this privately, he could have done this in his room, but he didn't. In case this other Freyr could not find him he settled himself right in the main commons of Freyr House, and since he was not sure how to contact this other self he made an open video to the network.
]

FREYR!

[A dramatic open video, maybe a little too hammed up.]

And that's for the Freyr that's not me by the way.

[Because clarification is important.]

Freyr will not accept this situation, Freyr wants an explanation, a proper explanation. He is owed this right, if not by his other self than by one of the gods!

[He clenches his fists and shakes a bit in anger.]

To steal Freyr away from his important work, to take Freyr away from his world just to fix up this poor excuse of an Asgard.... It's unforgivable! If Ragnarok continues because Freyr couldn't play his part he'll be very mad! He'll.... He'll....

Write all of your names down and give you bad reviews on every website out there!

[How that was a threat or was even capable was anyones guess.]

Also! Not just Ragnarok, but you interrupted Freyr's love life! How is Freyr suppose to gain his bride from this place when she is not here!?

So, since Freyr has been insulted, challenged, and prevented from doing what Freyr is meant to do, he demands to be properly received! Freyr God of Fertility, Love, Invention, Prosperity is worth more than this!

[He calms down a bit, or perhaps just ran out of things to say, either way he stands there for a little bit as if he's trying to remember what else was on his mind. It doesn't take too long.]

Oh, and for everyone else. Even if this is not Freyr's world and these gods have nothing to do with Freyr, he will still not accept any badmouthing about Freya, so be good. Freya in any world is a beautiful and precious woman that must be honored and respected. If we all play nice and get along the world will be a much nicer place!
