What do you do when the fate of the world rests in your hands?

[Surprisingly, not anon. It's a question that's been haunting her ever since the nightmares everyone else saw from her world.

If anyone asks, she'll use Asgard's task instead of her own. Easier to deflect that way.]

[See Elfa.

See Elfa briskly walking outside Hel's Welcome Hall.

See Elfa briskly walking outside Hel's Welcome Hall, and decking a certain muttonchopped idiot right in the face, and he goes down like a stack of bricks.

When it's all said and done, she crosses her arms and gives him a look.]

Here's a hint, asshole. Don't give me pet names.

[A beat, and she pulls out her last cigarette.]

Another thing. I don't break promises.

Honestly, I don't understand how people don't love snow. It's cold, yes, but...overall, it's just very pretty, isn't it? How could you not love that?

[Well, here's a familiar face to some- Cheriour is standing on top of a snow pile, beaming and looking very proud of himself as his clock eyes tick on.]

[He tilts his head quizzically at the camera.]

But I have to say, I'm a bit confused as to what in the world some people do with it! You see, I'e been reading these books about what people do in the snow, and while some things are rather self-explanatory, others are...less so. For example, snowballs I understand, but what in the world is "snowboarding"? Is that like putting boards on snow, or...? And it seems a lot like skiing, too, by the sound of it! Except...I'm at a loss as to what skiing is, too. It sounds fun to say, though, skiing...

[A pause, before he shakes his head.]

Oh, oh, but there was something that I was very intrigued by in the books I read, and I don't really know if I did it correctly or not, but...I made a snow angel!

[And the camera pans over to show, well, this:]

What do you think?

[Despite the snow and cold, Alastair is outside. He's more used to being out and about in the cold anyway, and it's really not that bad, especially with a good coat.]

I know not everyone will care about this, so feel free to ignore it if you're not interested in... other people's worlds.

[He sighs, running a hand through his hair.]

With that out of the way, I was just wondering... I realize we're all from different places, and many of them are vastly different from each other, but I keep being surprised, mostly because something that is so completely fundamental where I come from seems to just... not exist anywhere else.

It's... well it's the Balance. [He rubs his forehead a moment before continuing.] I've explained this to a few people already, but where I come from, the Balance between life and death, creation and destruction, and time... it's all essential to how the world works. If the Balance is upset, things... go badly. [He frowns.] That's a bit of an understatement. But that's not important.

The Balance is guarded by the Keepers, one for each aspect of the Balance. Each Keeper rules a land that is associated with that aspect of the Balance, and in the land there are a few gifted on one side of the Balance or the other. So in the land associated with life and death, there are some gifted with life, and others with death. Only the Keeper has the power of both.

[He sighs. Is he saying too much? It feels like he's talking too much.]

I'm sorry, really the point of all of this is... I'm wondering if anyone comes from a place with a Balance. Or anything like it, really. It just... it seems impossible to me that it exists nowhere else.

[ You really aren't going to get much out of him this time. Just this face because he completely means what he's about to say and he wants it to set people off. ]

Well, that battle could have stood to be bloodier, eh?

[Sam is loading a shotgun, because in times of war, Sam Winchester doesn't rely on magical bullshit. His movements are methodical, well-practiced, and as he cracks the barrel closed, Sam looks grim.]

Anyone in the Odin district capable of fighting without getting themselves killed in the process needs to meet me outside of the Great Library in two hours. Bring weaponry, ammunition, and whatever else you can fight with -- and anyone who is a high-level ice and fire magic user, come too. We're going to need all of the help we can get.

[Sam has survived the Apocalypse. He can survive Ragnarok.]

Justice.

[It's a strange sight, really- there's Cheriour, clock eyes always ticking, and there is a gentle sort of smile on his face as usual, but what is in his hands might be a surprise to some who haven't seen him carry it around.]

[It's a
sword, and an old one at that. He's rubbing it down with a cloth, polishing it, though the slight dark tarnishes at it's end are impossible to remove. And he continues to speak at the bracelet placed next to him, hand never stopping its movements down the weapon.]

I'm not sure that many people know what justice really is, honestly! I mean, when you talk about someone being just, it means they know what is right. They can look at a situation and judge accordingly, making sure that their decisions go accordingly to their own moral compass.

But justice is really more than that. Justice is...hmmm, how to put this? It's just something that you have to follow through with. It's the feeling you get when you watch an innocent person get hurt. It's seeing a bad person really get what they deserve after all the harm and pain they've caused others. It's this force, really, that drives you to do the utmost good for people you can do.

[There's a dreamy sort of look on his face, like he's talking about something adored and prized over all- it's quite obvious that he has really strong feelings about this.]

But! Of course, not many people think about it that way. Some people think it can be only found in courtroom cases and trials, which is true, but it's so much more widespread! Justice is more than a jury and a judge, anybody can go through with it. It's found in everybody.

...At least, that's what I think.

[And he smiles over at the bracelet with a pondering look.]

What is really the definition of justice, do you think?

[Castiel is feeling much better and is essentially back to normal, so he's returned to video posts to ramble on at the populace about nerd issues.]

I have finished a compilation of the powers and what they are capable of at different levels of strength. Many of the powers there is little information available for, so if any of those who possess any lacking in details in this guide are willing to share what they know, it would be appreciated.

[And there is a file attachment of powers.txt available for download. After doing that, he glances at the screen and looks like he's cutting the feed, but he's actually setting a filter.]

[Filtered AWAY from TFW house/the SPN cast]

I meant to ask this some time ago, but there have been several distractions since then. However, I need to learn to fight more competently without a weapon. I am used to using my sword, or a gun, but there are times when neither is appropriate or available.

I can provide compensation if necessary for anyone willing to teach me.

[And now he ends the feed for real.]

I am but the messenger, awaiting orders.

[That's all you're getting from her, Asgard. While the words may not seem like much, it's code in her world for her job as a Seer. When it's said, ANGELs, beings of the elements found in life, are forced to respond. Their response to her is specific, and while she doesn't know she's the only one from her world here, she's hoping she finds a familiar face through this method.]

Alright. Here's the deal.

[Nick's looking a bit more serious today, probably because that whole illness thing shook him up, though he would be loath enough to admit it. Being so helpless and watching people die around him- really, it's not like he cared, but the fact that he couldn't be in control while what was clearly an attack on the city was quite the horrible feeling indeed.

[But enough about that. He's making this post for quite a different reason. He hasn't figured out this filter thing yet, so he has to do the next best thing.]

I'm going to do a little poll right now. You see, I realized that when I got here that I wasn't the only inhuman species roaming around the place. So, here's the thing I want you to do for me- if you're not human, respond to me and tell me what you are and what's the deal behind your species, because I'm curious. Maybe there's something similar out there to what I am, I don't know.

...That being said, if you're homo sapien, human, whatever you call yourselves nowadays...don't bother answering. I've had enough of your kind enough in my life, alright? Get lost.

No, really.

[ooc: Nick is just trying to do a poll of how many inhuman species there are in Asgard, but feel free to have your human character comment too! Just because Nick is a jerk doesn't mean that I don't want all the CR for him. Open to all! :Ib]

[HELLO ASGARD. There is a very irked and irritated cyborg staring right back at you, looking unimpressed and obviously out of place. She's in Hel's district, having made her way back to the welcome hall after her adventure through the city!

Not.]

Okay. So besides forgetting to mention we're in a war, and that this place is inhabited by crazy assholes, is there anything else someone wants to tell me about this city that I don't know? You know, before I end up punching someone? I'm filled in on the whole coloring aspect, we can't get home, and we have powers. [A wiggle of her fingers here, to show how amused she is by that aspect.] Whoop-de-doo. Any hint about surprises would be fantastic.

[She is so thrilled, can't you tell.]

Also, bandages. Where do I find them. [She holds up a bandaged hand that is BRIGHT FUCKING RED and may or may not be dripping. With blood. Aha. Ha. Ha. Someone might have punched a wall when she learned she couldn't go home. WHOOPS. |D;;; Clearly it doesn't phase her in the slightest, she's not even screaming in pain. Though that may be because at home, she fried off her pain receptors a week ago. GOTTA LOVE SEER SHIT, IT'S WONDERFUL.]

Gonna need to know where I can get more. As long as it's not in the way of the "I've gone crazy with power" dumbasses.

[Have a red-head. She doesn't look any different than she usually does, aside from the fact that her expression seems more than a touch 'off' for some reason. She's seated lazily in a cheap-looking, beat-up old easy-chair. The room behind her isn't clearly visible, and looks at best glance to be someone's basement. There's healthy odds that, given the repairs around the city, she's found some poor bastard's basement in one of the still unfinished spots and is lounging in a room. The room probably looks familiar to only one person in all of Asgard. Otherwise, there is no immediate indication of where she is visible.

There's nothing else particularly unusual about the chamber, and were it not for the odd way that she was leering at the screen, it might not be quite as disturbing as it is.
]

Good evening my fellow travelers. I'm expecting some guests in a little bit to pick up a friend of theirs, and I wouldn't want to be remiss in ... entertaining them properly when they arrive. However, they aren't here yet, and everyone else is a little indisposed, so I find myself bored and with a little time on my hands.

I do soo... hate boredom [Her tail flops about lazily as she says this.]. Won't someone be so kind as to offer a little bit of light diversion while I wait for the mounties on their shining white horses?

(OOC: This thread should stay PG-13, if very creepy. There is, however, a high potential of some triggery issues. Just be aware.)

[Caterina is looking at you carefully, Asgard. Searchingly. Seriously.]

So we're finally talking about war now, are we? Va bene, tell me. How many of you have actually seen war?

[She's dead serious right now. War is nothing to chat lightly about. She knows.]
