This is--something is wrong. I can't....I can't remember. And Anna, something is wrong with her too. She doesn't remember leaving Arendelle to bring me back. I don't remember why I left Arendelle in the first place. I know the trolls took her memory of my powers, but this....this is different.

[Sure. There are painful memories. But at the same time, Elsa doesn't mean to forget them. But use them as lessons. To learn from those mistakes. But how can she? When she can't recall making them, the reasons behind them? Losing her memory terrifies her. More worrying is Anna. That's what Elsa is more concerned about. Anna has already had her memories replaced before....

Taking a page from Joffrey's book and demanding, claiming authority where there is none doesn't seem to be the way to go. Elsa just wants to help her sister.]

I doubt this is just the two of us affected though. I don't suppose anyone else knows what is going on here, exactly? From what I can tell it's....our memories. I keep forgetting things. And then there are those....Well, I don't think they are ghosts? It seems they might be other travelers? Something to do with Hel and her power to bring us back being interfered with? I don't know. I am not sure if anyone could help Anna, but it worries me. I hope we can fix things. Soon.

[The woman who appears on screen isn't looking so hot. A shaking hand wipes at the corner of her mouth, trying to erase any trace of what had just happened though it still looks like she's going to be sick, her pale skin dotted with beads of sweat as she sways on the spot. She's barely made it out of the palace let alone had a chance to explore Freya's district and it doesn't look like that's going to be happening any time soon.]

Ohhh-kay. [Blinking a few times to try and clear her vision.] You know I've had hangovers that felt - a hellova lot better than this.

[A soft chuckle escapes, one with a nervous edge to it and she presses herself back against a wall that is likely the only thing holding her up right now.]

My name - [Another wave of nausea rolls through her.] My name is Jenna Sommers and I - [She sinks down, holding up a hand as if to apologize and shakes her head.] Yeah I'm going to - try this again later... Unless you really wanna see the last thing I ate.

[Which you really don't. Really.]

[There are a lot of unpleasant things about sleeping for a while. Harry can barely remember what was happening before he slept. Hermione. Hermione had been with Remus. They were meaning to get out invitations. All of that is a haze, and Harry wonders if he should be remembering something. In fact, he wishes that were the case; he wishes he knew more about the future. There are moments when he tries to pretend otherwise, but fighting a war does wear down on someone.

It leaves him to wonder if his world will truly be safe.

Then again, there are other unpleasant things about waking up after a long rest. The awareness that Gilderoy Lockhart has arrived is high on his list.

Of all the people to arrive from home ...

Though, in truth, at least it's not Voldemort again.

Just the same, he doesn't doubt that people are wondering where he is, so after he wakes up, after he has some tea and tries to look as if he hasn't been sitting in the same position for who knows how long, he sets his bracelet in front of him.]

Hello, everyone, I'm Harry. [Because the truth is, he doesn't know how long it's been. Better to be safe than sorry.] I've been asleep for a very long time. Too long, honestly, and I feel like there must be a lot that I've missed. [Agitation creeps into his tone there, and it's evident by the slight downturn of his mouth.]

To tell you the truth, I haven't really spoken on here since my warning about Tom Riddle, but he's come and gone now. Which I suppose has been announced, hasn't it?

But because I haven't been around, I wanted to say some things that I still feel are true. [And honestly, he likes being able to communicate it to newcomers.] I don't know how much many of you know about what's happening here, and I don't know how things have progressed, but before I went to sleep myself, Odin was drained and unable to go on. Before that happened, there was ... there was a row with the gods, I guess you could say. A lot of people were unhappy with them. And who could blame you, really? You've been taken here without your permission. Necessary evils and all that.

But the gods aren't bad people. Some of them are gits. [He's thinking of one in particular here.] And being here is unsettling, scary, and ... not fair. Especially to those of you who haven't experienced this sort of thing back home. But they're trying. They've been through a lot, and we wouldn't be here unless they were desperate to save their world and ... while some people doubt this, I don't, our own.

[There's a point where he looks away for a moment, gathering his thoughts.]

I think that's all. I'd like to catch up with everyone, and meet some new people.

And ... I'm really glad to be awake again. No one wants to sleep that long. Trust me.

[Sitting at a small desk in her room at the welcome hall, Claire has tons of paper with her bubbly cursive writing etched all over it. She's found the library and has a small stack of books piled up on the desk as well. She's not usually the studying type, but something's caught her attention today and she needs some help figuring things out.]

I've got a few questions about powers. I know there's guides on the bracelets or whatever, but I want to hear what other people have to say.

[The pencil she's using is tapped against her lip a few times as she thinks over how to word things. And finally, figuring it out, she grins.]

Has anyone here been able to switch to something else that's in their house? Or to the power of another house entirely?

[She glances down at her paper, and writes a quick sentence down upon it.]

And okay, this question is probably pretty personal, but how many of you have different abilities back home? I've heard that a lot of people here do. I was thinking about it, and was curious to figure out if anyone here has had their real powers come back to them? It's kind of important that I figure that part out.

[She acts like she's going to say something more, but then her jaw clamps shut. Seconds later, the video cuts off and Claire waits for responses so she can write them down. ]

[Whale...looks oddly happy. which, might be worrying, but considering that everybody's oddly happy today thanks to the rune magic whatever makes it slightly less worrying.]

Right, two things for you, Asgard. One: I know that there's at least people who look like me. No, I don't know why that happened either and yes, it's weird as hell. I'm Dr. Whale, not Adam or John. I'm the American one who's in Baldr and can be found around the hospital.

Two: Sigyn House, I've got a question for you. I talked with McCoy a couple of weeks ago, but I'm just now getting around to asking people this: how does the Growth power work? Can you grow anything or do you need seeds or something like that first?

This is purely scientific, so any and all answers would be appreciated. Though, depending on the outcome, I might have a job for a couple of you.

[spoilers: it is not purely scientific. he wants people to grow hops and/or weed. A+ JOB, MORON.]

[She's got this thing figured out. Well, except for the video. But, hey audio works. She taps at it experimentally.]

Hopefully, this is transmitting.

[And then, carefully, she clears her throat.]

I have no idea what I was expecting when I walked out those door when I arrived, but it certainly wasn't running for my life.

[Margaret pauses thoughtfully, just long enough to where there's silence on the line.]

All I want right now is a very stiff drink. I assume someone has recommendations.

Asgard.

[ so maybe Regina Mills has only one greeting up her sleeve when she is out of patience.

( and she is always so here, it would seem ). ]

Two matters. Firstly, the man you might have known as captain Hook,

[ she literally rolls her eyes at the name ]

Has been -- sent back by the Gods to continue his endless pursuit of vengeance and alcohol.

[ and she's annoyed about it, clearly. ]

Secondly, if the latest happenings taught us anything is that the Gods can vouch for our safety, perhaps; but that we also much vouch for our own. Natural disaster, war or any time of emergency would lead to a death toll unless there would be clear instructions of how to behave in such time and the order will be kept. I ask you this, there is no ruler to this city, no council and no mayor which explains the chaos and the panic and the blatant lack of order that came with the flood. With the lack of those, do you truly think we can vouch for our own safety? I don't suggest appointing one person to such a task I simply think that a council or a group that would work to make sure instructions would be given to everyone in Asgard, Natives and Travelers, to make sure everyone know what to do and where to go and what not to in time of battles, floods, earthquakes and fire.

I know we can't prepare for everything; but clear instructions and drills will help the people not to panic and after the flood, I think it'll be best if we all draw our conclusions as any community of mostly civilized people.

[ The Doctor's taking a day off, so he's at home when he makes this video. More exactly, in the workshop of Thor 103, so there's a great deal of clutter behind him but if people pay attention they might make out that most of it seem to be toys, both complete and not.

He hardly ever takes full days off, but today he has a mission, and it's very important. Also very awesome, if you ask him, so he smiles at the camera and waves enthusiastically. ]

Hello, Travellers!

I've been making things. More specifically, I've been making toys. More toys than Alice and Clem can use, and they're sort of starting to pile up. So I figured I'd give some away. I was thinking I'd make a stall for it on the street, but I'll let you lot get first dibs because I love you so much.

[ He winks, and fiddles with the screen so he can turn it in another direction. There's a train track on the floor, along with a toy train chugging along. Beside the train tracks are loads of cars, planes, helicopters and animals, some made of wood and some metal or plastic. There's also a few Frisbees, blocks with carvings of letters or numbers or symbols to build with and, speaking of building, he has plenty of buildings and vehicles that are half built, with the pieces to finish. Do it yourself, and all that.

Then the screen comes back to him, and he holds out a rat made from fabric. ]

Also some things that could double as pet toys.

And that's not all of it either. So! Come on by and have a look. Thor 103. I'm here all day.

[ He reaches to turn it off, but stops. ]

Oh, and I can take requests! And I also repair toys, as long as they're not ruined beyond recognition, or possibly even in that case. I don't know. Never tried it, actually. I'd be willing to give it a go.

Or you could always just come by for tea and biscuits and company. I don't mind either way.

[ And finally he turns the recording off. ]

[ so perhaps there are no riddles today. or perhaps there are always riddles to what she says, who knows, truly. there is a disappointment and there is interest in what this city has dealt her. it leads her to contrasting urges ( destroy. observe. participate ).

the choice will have an impact, certainly. but for today, just a message. ]

It would seem that the gods of Asgard have finally understood what some knew all along; that two of Holmes in the same city will either lead to madness or to a disappointing stagnancy from both sides. Especially if the two answer to the same first name; and any measure of stagnancy from one answering to the name Holmes would be a tragic matter.

As such and in an attempt to balance the equation, it would seem (1) Sherlock Holmes is no longer among us.

I trust that if you have a matter to settle with him his partner, miss Joan Watson would be all too pleased to assist you.

[ and then; as if the next thought is a fleeting thing, it is voiced, too. as if it has any connection to the previous subject.

(it has everything and nothing to do with it). ]

How many of you know the natives by their first names, I wonder?

[Robb's room is something of a familiar setting by now--not too shabby, but it certainly gives the appearance of being lived in by someone who pays some attention to neatness and cleanliness. Usually, anyway, because right now it looks like somebody nearly tore up the place looking for something.

That somebody is now poking his head back into view from behind the bed, looking rather worried but determined not to let it show. He clambers up on the bed, picking up the bracelet and turning it over, and one just might catch a glimpse of a wolf pup with grey fur and yellow eyes sitting on the bed, or a bronze-and-iron crown of swords as the video turns with the bracelet.

Once the boy's examined the bracelet enough, the video finally settles on his face.]

This isn't Westeros at all anymore, is it? [There's a note of childish anxiety in his tone--considering that he woke up in a very large bed with his last memory being of going to sleep in his own bed, that's kind of understandable. He lets out a breath, straightens up, and looks at the grey pup off-screen.] I'll have to find my way back to Winterfell somehow--you can come with me, you'll like it there.

[There's a whine from off-screen, which is probably incredibly familiar to quite a few people. The boy grins, reaches out to pet the top of the wolf pup's head.]

Come on, then, I think there's some meat in the kitchens.

[He looks completely unaware that the bracelet is recording any of this at all. Or, as he hops down the bed clutching the bracelet with the wolf (and he's going to name it Grey Wind, just you watch) trailing behind him, that he's just accidentally posted this to the network.

Whoops.]

[ooc: Robb (and also Grey Wind) is cursed for the day! He's currently six years old and has no idea that the tiny grey wolf pup is actually his, nor does he have any clue what the hell is he doing in Asgard. All replies will come from [personal profile] teenywolf. Enjoy your cursed King in the North, Asgard.]

[ hello asgard! as surprising as it might be, when the video chimes in kate is not in her office. no, she actually seems to be outside, and there are distant sounds of the battle raging in the distance. more immediately around her, though, are the yells of travellers and natives alike rushing about, absolute chaos stirring around them. behind kate is what looks like the remains of a section of the wall that used to surround asgard, that used to keep them safe. those who are familiar with that part of the city, might recognize the district she's in as sigyn. ]

The battle's getting worse, and the damage is getting closer to the walls. I know there's been a lot of Travellers who have already come out to help put the fires out but-

[ there's an explosion, and the feed shakes as kate ducks down from the falling rocks that explode out over her head. as the dust settles, whoever's watch the video might see the vaguest hint of green up behind the video feed. sigyn's spell, desperately trying to hang on. the network can probably hear kate yelling, trying to direct people away from the wall, to regroup. she comes back onto the feed a moment later. ]

We're trying to cut off the weaker points. Sigyn, Loki and Hel are the most vulnerable. Anyone who can should head there. The Guard has already taken to trying to keep this all together, you can find someone there if you want to help. [ the video is bouncing now as kate is trying to get further into the city, directing people while she goes. this isn't an army, isn't a battle. this is trying to keep a city together, trying to keep people safe. ]

If those walls go down, if that spell falls, we're done. We're taking all the help we can get.

[ another explosion, and kate's cutting the feed, yelling at someone else off-screen. ]

[With the fighting giants just outside the city, the school burning down, the funeral showing the sheer number of those lost. She is holding the vorpal sword she created not so long ago in her lap.]

His majesty, King Arthur, was teaching me how to use the vorpal sword to protect myself. But now that he's gone, I'm without a good teacher.

Would someone please be so kind to teach me how to use a sword?

I am aware that there is currently a situation of no small importance outside the walls of our city. However, time waits for no man, and I see no reason to delay this statement.

As you are no doubt aware, the Albus Dumbledore Academy recently suffered a devastating loss. The fire that burned much of the school building was also responsible for numerous injuries to staff, students, and bystanders, and at least one death. So far as I know, any investigations into the matter are still ongoing, and the question remains: Was this the work of a man or of fate? A deliberate choice or an unhappy accident?

[After being accused by Professor Snape of starting the damnable thing, the thought hasn't been far from her mind--it must have been someone.]

If it was, indeed, the work of an arsonist, then I hope he will listen when I say: Yours was a coward's gesture. This school is a place of learning; it should be a safe haven for any Traveler interested in bettering himself through an education, regardless of origin. You are a disgrace to a population brought together to improve this world.

Those who try to terrorize others through intimidation and threat of harm are the lowest of men, and they should not expect clemency. If you purposely set the school on fire, you will be found, and you will receive your just deserts.

If I must, I will ensure that much myself. You are responsible for my death, and I demand that justice be served.

There will be no break in class for students enrolled in my courses. To treat this occurrence as reason for a holiday would be an insult to everyone injured in the catastrophe. To halt our learning in the face of a frightful event would be to give in to fear. We will not give in to fear--particularly not if frightening us was some craven soul's intention in the first place. In lieu of a safe place to meet within the school, my courses will be held in the library in Odin district.

I regret to inform those enrolled in my course on Egyptian history and culture that the mummification work of our last two months has been destroyed. In our next class, we will discuss the future of the project, and of our class as a whole.

((OOC: To be clear, Evy has no idea who set fire to the school or whether that person is male or female. She comes from a time when using the male pronoun would be default when describing a theoretical person.))

[Smiling brighter then the sun is a little magi. He had been fiddling around to prepare to perfect view for everyone to see his new friend. In his excitement he doesn’t notice he has turned on video a little too early. ]

Okay, Assel! I know it has been hard, but you’re finally ready to meet everyone. You know how to move about the city without squishing anyone, you haven’t stolen anything since the first day and you haven’t lost your temper.

[The only response he gets from this Assel is a low grunt, from off to the side. It doesn’t put Aladdin off in the least; he looks pretty pleased with the answer.]

You are definitely ready for this.

[Another grunt this one a little higher in tone. Aladdin couldn’t hold in his excitement at that, it was time to star-- it’s already on…Oops]

Oh…um...Assel, it looks like your big introduction has already started. [There is a slow grumble. ]

Hey everyone, I wanted you all to meet a friend of mine, he was actually my gift from home. I’ve been spending a lot of time making sure to get him settled before hand. He never been around people like this and it’s a lot different from where he’s lived before.

Anyway, enough about that, I’d like to introduce everyone to Assel, the dungeon bear. Assel say hello to everyone. [He turns his view over to the creature; the first thing anyone can see is its feet. Assel but other than that it looks like a fuzzy teddy bear. That is until it reached the face…its oddly cartoony in a disturbing way. It tilts its head slightly; there is glimpse of razor sharp teeth peeking out from its gaping maw.]

HELLO [It look like it can speak as well. Isn’t it the most delightful being? ]

Don’t worry he doesn’t eat people, he just like honey. So if you see him wandering around there is no need to freak out about it, he’s a real softy. [He certainly can’t go berserk here, Aladdin thinks to himself.]

HONEY?
[Assel blinks down at the chibi with the mention of it’s favorite food. Aladdin goes over and pats the bear’s leg. ]

I’ll get you some in a second, no worries. [He switches the view to himself.] I have to go get another jug of honey for him. I'll by the guild if you need me.

[Another question. Elsa seems so full of them lately. But given that some had....magic, powers back home as well, she can't help but be cautiously curious. As far as she is aware it is just herself and the trolls back home with any sort of magic. However, her conversation with Regina makes her wonder about others, both here and back home that might have magic. It couldn't hurt to learn more about it. Whether or not she remembers, she still can't help being curious about the idea. Feeling.....well, less alone, in the idea that there are others here who had magic back home. That everyone here has magic of sorts. It makes her somewhat more comfortable in talking about her own at least.]

I'm afraid my questions seem never-ending. Once I have one answered, it only ends up bringing more to mind. But....the important one I am curious about is something I understand if some might not want to talk about. I was wondering about back home. How many here had magic or some sort of power. As far as I know, I was the only one with mine back home. I was just curious about others, and if they have different powers here in Asgard, how they are managing learning a new one like I am.

[John is standing near his new "house", fiddling with his bracelet. He's taken everything he's heard and let it sink in before finally seeing what this bracelet can do. He's familiar enough with smartphones and webcams that he gets the hang of it fairly quickly.

His eyes glance over his shoulder to Loki house, then back to the camera. He gives his audience a charming smile]

Can someone please explain to me why Loki's colors have to be orange? I know we serve under the god of mischief, but do we have to look so tacky doing it?
