[ hello Asgard! the feed will click on to Mike, who is semi-nonchalantly leaning on a certain motorbike that he received during the Milkening. while this isn't quite Mutt and it can't run (he's tried), keeping the hog in his room as a decorative piece for now is the way to go. it also makes him look cool, but I digress.

Mike himself has his usual friendly smile, but something about it does look a little worrysome. and when Mike Chilton is worried, something serious is going down. ]

Hey everyone. I dunno if the word is spreading around yet, but apparently some of us were chosen to keep a lead eye out for our districts while all of this fighting is going to happen. They chose me for Freya, so I sort of thought it'd be good for people to know who I am and all that. I can promise that you guys are in good hands.[ his smile brightens just a little; gotta keep a positive attitude about this, after all. ]  Still, I wouldn't mind having some people help me out with making sure the district is safe, either. If you think you're okay with patrolling and stuff like that, I'd love to have you on my team.

But listen; I know that we've got a pretty hefty army protecting us, but I know that some people might not be totally comfortable with self-defense, too. I promise it won't come to that, but I'd be happy to help anyone with training for some peace of mind. I'm good with hand-to-hand and staff combat, so just shout out if you want to do some sparring or get some lessons!

I was wondering.. Does anyone know what larping is? Live Action Role-playing? I, uh.. use to do it a lot back home. Figured it could be fun here too. I mean hey, even if you don't know what it is, you could still try it out and see for yourself- it's really fun!

[and he's looking a bit excited at the idea. till, he shrinks back a little, rubbing at his neck sheepishly.] If you want to know more about it, go ahead and ask. I could also try and show a demonstration? 

If any of you do have an idea what it is though that would be cool. Maybe.. we can plan something?

I'll go first-- I can grow plants. I'm not sure how cultivating a garden is supposed to help this world, but it's not like I can ask the gods to change it back to healing.

Good day, Travellers.

As many of you may be aware, the time until true battle breaks out is short. We can't say when or how it will happen, but it is likely to be soon. We are doing our best to prepare for whatever may come, but today we must ask for your assistance.

First, we suspect there may be forward scouting parties like the one some of you faced while in the woods with Baldr nearby. We would like a small unit to assist a party of elven soldiers in making sure the close terrain is clear of such threats. Hopefully there will be no enemies at all, in which case you will assist them in gathering medicinal herbs and timber.

Second, we'd like to send a group of you to Utgard on errand. You will observe the state of the city and purchase supplies to make army rations. We need as much food and drink as possible in case of siege, particularly given that our trade with Utgard could be cut off at any time.

Both parties will depart in two hours. The first will meet at the Gate of Fire, the second at the Gate of Fog. We will not force anyone's participation in this matter, but we would be very thankful for the cooperation of all who choose to go.

[This is the trigger post for the opt-out for the Biological Warfare plot. If you don't want your characters to be involved in the disease plotting, they need to be in one of these two expeditions instead. Characters on these expeditions cannot also be involved in the biowarfare plot. It is completely acceptable to handwave your character going on an expedition. If you don't have the time or desire to play in the logs, you are welcome to assume your character was there anyway.

Uh.... hey everyone. I’m Mike Chilton, and these are my Burners; Julie and Chuck. [ GESTURES TO THE BABES BEHIND HIM. Julie does a little wave, and Chuck the same but more awkwardly; though, his attention is more on the bracelet screen. YAOI HANDS... ] We kiiiind of just showed up here the other day, so thanks to everyone who helped us out! We seriously owe you one.

We’re all working on settling in here, but there’s some stuff we need to ask all of you. First off -- if any of you know about Detroit Deluxe or Motorcity, talk to us. We’re trying to get everyone from our “world” up to speed and in one place, but so far it’s just us. We’re especially looking out for two Burners that aren’t here -- Texas and Dutch.

[and that’s when Chuck pipes in] Texas will really stand out, and I mean really stand out. He’s super loud and will go on about ‘Texas this’ and ‘Texas that’--

Basically, if he’s got a jumpsuit on and he’s talking about his lasers and muscles and...that sort of thing, it’s probably Texas.

Oh, and don’t forget the karate moves-- And the flexing.

Dutch’s a lot calmer, though. He’s got an afro and he, um, likes to paint... [ there’s the sudden realization that Dutch is pretty normal-looking.... ]

...Well, he’s a crafty and creative kind of guy. But chances are he might have a flying green square robot following after him, it’s got a crazy design with an eye on the center. [sorta.. moving his hands around as though to gesture the shape.]

Don’t worry, though. Roth- that’s his name- he’s really friendly.

If any of you see ‘em, just give us a holler. And another thing... you guys really don’t have any roads here, so... I guess there wouldn’t be a way to get a car up and running, huh? [ he looks legitimately disappointed at this. he gets a shoulder pat from Chuck... it’s ok bro.]

Oh, yeah, speaking of which- what year is it where you guys are from? I don’t think it’s that important, but who knows. [ she thought it was kind of curious that everything here’s non-electric. Mike nods in agreement before turning back to focus on the feed. ]

[it's Chie's first time really checking out the network since the darkness happened. the past week or so has been... a little tough on her, and it shows; she's smiling, yes, but there's a sort of tiredness in her expression as she addresses the feed.]

Hey there, everyone! I hope everyone's been doing okay—especially the new arrivals! Usually I'd say something like "Welcome to Asgard!" but I'm sure you're all a little tired of hearing the welcome wagon by now, so I'll spare you that much.

Anyway... I've been thinking about something for a while, and I can't really stop thinking, so I kinda wanna hear other people's answers. What exactly is it that makes someone strong? Physical strength, emotional strength, any other kind of power or fortitude like that... what does it mean to you? It's okay if you don't have any solid answers—I don't, either. It's a kinda tough thing to pin down.

So... yeah! Thanks in advance to anyone who answers! Maybe if I hear what other people have to say, I'll be able to get my mind on other things.
