[Any other day and Jimmy would have done a video feed but he's feeling kind of sheepish and not ready to show his face after going native for a month.

He should've known there would be repercussions.

The only thing on his mind right now is Claire and he's already making the walk over to Heimdall as he's typing.

I don't know why I thought it'd be a good idea to take the bracelet off.

I should've known it'd end up biting me in the ass.

What'd I miss?

[Kyle hadn't expected a lot from his day other than driving, stopping for a nap, driving some more, getting a drink or three and crash into sleep in whatever rundown motel he'd be able to find along whatever road he'd happen to be on.]

[This place? Far from any of those things. Far from anything he'd ever even heard about. Not to mention the whole greeting process. Powers? Right. Divine purpose? Right. And that skepticism is clearly present in the somewhat resentful glare he's giving all the holographic nonsense, probably making a wonderful first impression to anyone tuning in.]

[What the hell is this, anyway? A science fiction show?]

I'll make it quick. If anyone's got any real information to give me about this delusion of a kidnapping I've found myself in, I'd love to hear it.

And the lions, too. Please tell me those aren't part of the food chain around here.

[It takes him a while to end the thing, but he does it with the same impatient air about him and a low frown. He's convinced no one even heard that, much less saw. Video transmission, that's rich.]
______

[Anyone in the Heimdall district is free to stumble into him as he's just trying to make his way to the Welcome Hall, navigating the streets like he's a man on a mission, and ... looking mighty wary of those big felines.]

[The feed turns on, showing two bright, soft green eyes a little too close to the camera before pulling back. A welcoming smile follows after a few adjustments to the device.]

I think this is how it works -- ah, yes. Hello, I'm sure this broadcasts to everyone here. My name is Patrick Jane, and I'm a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation.

[He doesn't sound as stressed as he should, and he gives a short nod after his introduction.]

Are there any good tea shops?

[The feed cuts after his question, perhaps by accident. He didn't get the chance to tell everyone how absurd this was. None of it was possible, and in his eyes, wasn't even real.]
