[ Despite staying out of the way during most of the fighting - as much as possible, anyways - Shion hasn’t been procrastinating, no way. Amongst various things that could be important, she’s been debating on what to do about someone. The someone she currently happens to be in the same room with. So all of Asgard is blessed with her delightful face today, and with some other kid’s head as well. ]

Ah, hello everyone! [ You remember her? OF COURSE YOU DO. She’s waving towards Satoshi, smiling cheerfully. And then nudging him in the ribs. ] Say hello!

[ For his own part, Satoshi had managed to stay away from the fighting too... mostly at Shion’s insistence. It’d been hard to ignore at times, but he knew there probably wasn’t much he could anyways. Better to leave that sort of stuff to people better suited for it, right? ]

Oh... um... hello! [ He smiles weakly as he rubs his ribs, glancing back at Shion. ] You never told me what this was about... [ Or that she’d be recording it, whatever it was. ]

Ahh, about that... I’m going to introduce you to the rest of the city! [ Because he needs friends. ] So please, tell us all your name, age and special skill! [ Wait, can she take that back... As much as she likes him... ] Go on!

Well... my name is Satoshi Houjou, and I’m 16. My special skill is... [ Does he even have a special skill? He seems to go into deep thought for a while, unable to really come up with anything. Yeah, this is pretty tough. Sorry, Shion. ]

...Let’s leave that up to our viewers. [ She turns back to the screen and nods. ] If you have any suggestions as to what his skill could be, please let me know. It’s more dire than I expected.

Is it really that bad...? I can come up with something, I just need more time! [ A lot more. ]

A-anyways, please treat him kindly! [ She’s going to use this opportunity to warn him away from everyone she deems unworthy... And if they don’t treat him nicely, she’ll wait until they’re asleep and... ] Satoshi-kun, is there anything you want to add?

Not really. I’d be glad if I could meet any of Shion’s friends though. Things have been kind of... crazy lately, so it’s nice that things are finally getting back to normal. [ Relatively speaking, anyway. ] I hope we all get along!

Don’t worry, I’m sure you will. [ With that, she flicks the feed off. Friend request him, Asgard. ]

[ green is shion, blue is satoshi! since she's introducing him to everyone, tags will go CHARACTER, SHION, SATOSHI, etc. it might break off a bit later on, after the introductory stage and such. ]

[the video starts up and, hello you may recognize this fidgety tall lanky teen here! he might stand out awkwardly around Odin district but also often visits freya district a lot.]

Soo...

[looks like he's got something in his hands, something that resembles a dark green cloak as he turns it in hand thoughtfully.]

I was wondering.. Does anyone know what larping is? Live Action Role-playing? I, uh.. use to do it a lot back home. Figured it could be fun here too. I mean hey, even if you don't know what it is, you could still try it out and see for yourself- it's really fun!

[and he's looking a bit excited at the idea. till, he shrinks back a little, rubbing at his neck sheepishly.] If you want to know more about it, go ahead and ask. I could also try and show a demonstration?

If any of you do have an idea what it is though that would be cool. Maybe.. we can plan something?

[HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE GUYS.. LARPING.. yeah okay just, gonna end it here. maybe he should think what kind of demonstration.....]

Alright, Asgard! Time for me to sample your creative juices, regardless of their flavor! Ready to pour out a glass straight from your skull? Good! Now...

Tell me the most ridiculous and crazy idea you've ever had for something you wanted to make!

Then let's go try and make it.

I'm running low on synth ideas here, so I need something utterly ridiculous and insane to get my spark going. As depressing as it is to admit, a man can only make so many different kind of drills that don't actually work before he has to move on to a different subject... So! Hit me with your best shot!

[TEXT TO ALL OF ASGARD.]

so i've spent the last couple of hours wandering around, and i've only seen a few faces i know. i'd like to know who some of you other guys/gals are?

i'm john, for starters.

[ACTION FOR THOSE IN / AROUND THE AREA OF LOKI.]

[If you're lucky enough to be around the area of the Loki district, John will be hanging around one of the areas in the district. He wants to meet everyone here too. So he's actively searching for people who actually have faces.

Anonymous faces are getting pretty old by now.
]

ooc: if you would rather me not use the text font above, here is a handy link for you to tell me!

[She has something very important to discuss.]

Alright. I haven't been here long and I need to know about the people around me a little more. Let's see....

....Okay, I got it. Little sisters. What do you think about them? Cute, not cute? Don't you just want to hold them and.... and.... [she trails off a bit after saying that. She clears her throat, hiding that grin of hers before she goes back to glaring at the bracelet.]

Got it?! Let's just talk about little sisters!

[ Usually, Red finds not that many reasons to post on the network nor has he been using it lately due to circumstances. EITHER WAY, Backdated to day 152... Because this is really concerning and he doesn't want to waste milk here. Why...?! Because someone thought it would be a great thing to purchase ninety bottles of it. Which would be fine!

If they would fit in the fridge.
]

Does anyone need milk? Or are willing to lend out their fridge for storage.

A C T I O N
[ Otherwise you'll probably find him and Pikachu around with this basket of milk... Giving them out, giving out bowls to cats (that may or may not be following him on his trek), selling them to people hanging around bakeries; he needs to get rid of at least most of these. Also he dropped like... 40 bottles at the other Pokemon Trainers' house, if you're wondering. Good luck with that.

If you're a small child, you'll probably get one for free. Yeah.

( filtered away from itsuki so hard.. except not much at all since she isn't great with filters but if willpower could be a filter this would be fort knox, pretty much. )

.. Look, this is probably going to sound really weird to suddenly ask this after everything that happened, but.. I need serious opinions here, okay?! No trying to be funny!

[ She takes a deep breath - honestly, saying any of this is already difficult enough, but she doesn't have anyone specific to ask about this.. the woes of being friends with guys and moe girls all over, not to mention everyone she knows from back home is gone too by now - even Nanase's bracelet can't be reached anymore. So the network is the last option left.. ]

So.. the situation is-- no, let's start over! What I just want to ask is.. what do you do when someone confesses to you? You know, confessing in the.. the romantic kind of way! [ sputtering. ] I already know the answer is accepting or rejecting it, but what if you don't know which one you should pick?!

[ aka 'how do i deal with my own tsun 101', apparently.. ]

[For this broadcast, Koizumi has traded his usual school uniform outfit in for a darker suit, a business-styled dark gray with a nondescript blue tie. It's a noticeable difference, despite its seemingly small nature. He's sitting at a table in Odin House's lobby.]

Good evening, everyone. I hope everyone is recovering from the recent attack. It was terrible, but rather swiftly resolved. We're getting better, it seems. And I congratulate those who went to Utgard on what might be termed good decision making. I've seen some apparently feel guilty about this, which I'd encourage you not to do.

In any case, I have a question for you all, which I believe hasn't been raised in its entirety before, though I apologize for a certain amount of redundancy, which may be unavoidable. [Yes, instead of just getting on with it.] It concerns technology.

As I see it, there are two main points to consider. First, we're aware that the technological level within Asgard is sporadic; we couldn't get motorcycles to work, and we use horse-drawn carriages, but we have television, radios, and computers available, on a level commensurate with that which those from late 20th-century and early 21st-century Earth recognize. In addition, there's the bracelet, which, if technological in origin, is more advanced still than this level.

Second, some Travelers are familiar with much higher levels of technology, including space travel, time travel, terraforming, and other such functions. Indeed, this makes sense as they've come from timelines corresponding to Earth's 25th or 26th centuries, according to them.

The question, then, for gods or Travelers alike, is: can we and should we start the process of manufacture for new technology? This process is not difficult. As long as the technology is reproducible by fabrication and requires only materials which we possess, we can create it here. And our preexisting technology indicates that we can. Something which can produce a laptop can soon enough create a three-dimensional printer, for example. Such engineering could give us a potent advantage.

[Against whom, he doesn't say.]

In particular, I think it would be useful to have mechanical defenses for the purpose of dealing with what we might term as rogue Travelers. Some of the more dangerous aspects of dealing with such people if necessary would be mitigated. I'm thinking specifically of those who might misuse such a power as body control or charm.

[It looks as if there's a tall amount of shrubbery and flora surrounding an out of breath young man. He had arrived and started to make his way to his District, but he got sidetracked. Numerous times. But, now he's finally decided to use the bracelet. Looking a tad flustered, he finally speaks--]

I've been trying to find the Welcome Hall for a few days now, and I'm not making any progress at all... [As he continues to walk, immediately getting out of patch of shrubbery that he's in, and finding himself in another one.] I don't even know where I am now!

[He does it again, sighing.] It feels as if these're going on forever...

[Oh, right. He should really introduce himself. He bows his head politely, unable to... bow the rest of his body at the moment.]

My name is Ryoga Hibiki, of the Thor House. As tough as this situation is, I'm not planning on staying here long. So while I'm here, I'll do what I can for this place until I find my way home. I'll use it as a form of training, so that as soon as I get back home... [His expression changes, looking even more determined than before.] I'll be even stronger!

[After that declaration, he goes back to trying to figure out how to get the HELL out of this place. He's definitely in Geflon Park, trying to get out of the Garden. Lord knows how he got in there to begin with.]

[Charles has had a fair amount of time now to process Diva's absence, and even though he hasn't entirely made sense of it (or made peace with it), he's moved past the point of wanting to talk about it. There's a certain amount of privilege in being able to mourn her, after all, and he's not willing to share it. He is, however, getting a little restless with his hermit routine, which is why he finally picks his bracelet up in the evening to pose a few questions that have been bouncing around in his head.]

How far have people managed to take their god-given powers here? A potential upward limit, if you will. [He's careful to keep his tone mild, though the curiosity in his next statement is a little more difficult to hide.] Additionally, is anyone aware of whether or not these powers atrophy if left unused for an extended period of time?

[Still not entirely up for being social by any means, the recording would have ended there if he hadn't remembered another little thing that's been sitting in the back of his mind lately.]

--And consider this a public service announcement. Try not to eat in the library unless you have better manners than something that can be found in a zoo. No one likes crumbs ground into the carpet, especially those of us who have to work there.

[...It hasn't been that long since he last said something over the network but.

But this is important!

Senji is sitting there, arms crossed, looking absolutely.... annoyed. Why? There was a crow on his shoulder.]

.....Oi.

[The crow flew to his head. Pecking at his spiky hair.]

Oi.... how the fuck.... do you get rid of a damn bird that won't go away? This is seriously.... [CAW CAW goes the crow.]

This is seriously fucked up. Way too ironic if you ask me.... I'm... supposed to be Crow!

[CAW :V]

[ as the video turns on, you're treated to the sight of a confused looking young man. something that must surely be a familiar sight to anyone who's been here for a protracted period of time... though this one seems perhaps a bit more dazed than most. ]

Ah... hello, everyone.

[ despite his confusion, he manages a weak smile. his voice sounds rather calm, all things considered. ]

Let's see... I'm supposed to introduce myself, right? My name is Satoshi Houjou. It's nice to meet you at all.

Um... what else was there? Sorry, this has never happened to me before so I'm not really sure what to say. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Or am I one who's supposed to be asking questions right now? Hm... Can anyone give me some advice? Introductions sure are difficult. I'll do my best to pay you back when I can.

Oh! But we're saving the world, aren't we? Ha... that sounds pretty hard. I've never saved a world before, either. Well, I'll do my best.

[ Obon had already passed by the looks of the seasons, but that doesn't stop some people from celebrating it and doing something remotely related to the summer season. Normals always told their friends ghost stories around this time of the year, so some practice will do her good. It isn't often that this particular deep, spooky voice crops up on the network, but the time she chose was a particularly quiet one in the evening. Those who know her will be able to discern its owner - Yozora. This gloomy tone is the one she usually speaks with, but it sets the mood perfectly. ]

The end of summer, the start of fall. It is during these two seasons that the world pays its respects to the spirits of the afterlife. I wouldn't say that those of this ethereal plane are above us, figuratively speaking. Yet for many generations, haven't humans always been most afraid of what they don't know? Strange occurrences that cannot be explained, - it's almost laughable how these mysteries hold so much power over us.

[ She cackles, and she didn't even need to practice two hours to perfect it. There is nothing but silence that follows. ]

What if I told you they were true? Just because we cannot comprehend these happenings doesn't allow us to simply dismiss them. Although belief is waning, tradition remains strong. There must be a reason behind it all, don't you agree?

Well then, shall we revive that tradition tonight?

I heard this from a local in the Baldr district. It happened long before the disease spread, when the city still had its color...

[hello asgard! again!

this feed appears to be from the hospital -- soon after all that nastiness with the darkness. it's that same weird mute boy who shows up from time to time, and he looks pretty rough; there's bandages over plenty of him, including his head, and the bracelet's on an arm that appears to be in a cast.

his typing is a little slow - pardon him.]

what do you do when your best isn't enough?

[he doesn't seem upset, even with the question he's asking, though. determined more than anything else. also, pardon his lack of shift; it's hard to do one-handed.]

[Today Beato addresses her fellow travelers much like she has on other occasions, seated primly in the drawing room of Loki House, a warm cup of black tea at her elbow. There's an entire tea set on the table, as well, and it looks like a fair few empty cups are sitting around the table]

In light of our recent scolding for not being quite social enough, it occurs to me that there must be quite a lot going on around here that I am missing out on. So with that in mind, I invite any who are interested to join me here in Loki House for a small tea party.

I would so dearly love to hear a fresh bit of gossip.

So!

[ Jade's lime green eyes are bright and a little too-close as she adjusts the bracelet on her table, fluffy white dog ears perked high. ]

I kind of got annoyed and smart-mouthed the gods asking why we don't get brochures or something explaining stuff when we get here, and... lo and behold, one of them actually delivered!

[ She leans forward, pushing through a link to Loki's response to her. ]

It actually answers a lot of questions I've had for a long time, and some questions I never even thought to ask. You should give it a look! I'm not sure if we should trust it implicitly, but something to go on is better than nothing, right?

Greetings everyone!

My name is Shino Amakusa. It's come to my attention that some people around here don't attend school. As the president of a Student Council, I can't let that stand. Unfortunately, I can't run a school on my own and neither can anyone else my age.

So, in it's place, I'll be remaking a new Student Council! It'll be the Asgard Student Council, of course. With myself and Aria, we have two members. A proper club should have at least five but we can take on a lot more.

As a Student Council, our creed will be to get everyone interested in taking part in the activities this place has to offer! Not only that but we'll help out others with their problems and jobs. Because it's a club that helps out others, I don't expect a lot of volunteers but I'll be pleased with everyone who wishes to join.

All that I ask is you fill out a small survey and post it here and I can accept you as a full member.

For females...

For males... [Warning: this one is a bit work inappropriate]

Thanks for your time and triple thanks to anyone who volunteers.

[Hello bracelet: another ©Koizumi, Inc. network message production for you; as usual, he's smiling, well-coiffed, handsome, in generally good order, with a nice, plain background behind him, and then he starts up, as he has pretty much every time he's been on the network:]

Good evening, everyone. It seems we've once again escaped, not entirely unscathed, but more or less intact, from another occurrence, this one with certain unique features that have been mentioned before on the network.

First, of course, it appears to have its origins in the world of a Traveler. As we know, it was a quite exact enough replica for the Traveler in question to give us a policy prescription and taxonomy. This issue has provoked considerable dissent, as it can be explained in any of four ways: [points to a screen "in front" of him! apparently he's put up a little thing on the bracelet screen, reading:]

Internal ("Curse")
External ("Attack")
Traveler ("Conspiracy")
Unintentional ("Side Effect")

Which I'm sure are roughly intuitive; essentially, it is a matter of allocation of blame, whether on the gods, their enemies, one of us, or no one at all. I believe it's presently impossible to decide that question for certain. My instinct, however, is to believe that it is, in fact, an outside attack. One would find this a bafflingly counterproductive move on the part of the gods, as our enemies, according to them, don't generally resemble these creatures; and yet they have shown a certain amount of willingness to make seemingly counterproductive moves--perhaps because they are not a single directed intelligence but rather a plurality. Still, because of the nature of the event -- because of the way in which it inhibited "colorfulness", in particular -- I incline to think they are not involved.

One more reason I think this is that it potentially answers in part a rather interesting question. If Asgardian gods can bring Travelers, and they are beings on a level similar to their adversaries, as we've seen, why do the others not follow suit? In other words, why would these gods in particular have access to the "multiverse"? If this was indeed an attack, we should now suspect that the adversaries can access our worlds, or knowledge of our worlds, and as such, this particular issue is somewhat resolved.

I'd like to ask any of the gods that may be listening now to weigh in on this question, if they are indeed not responsible.

As a side note, some of you who have particularly developed your powers likely had a rather easy time in this event -- those with advanced fire magic, for example. May I ask for anyone whose powers have become very advanced to speak with me? [He pauses. A slightly strange expression comes over his face--a slight twitch of the eyebrows.] It's about consolidating that power, because many of the more stupid, paranoid--

[Whoa. He didn't mean to phrase it like that. What... -- Try again.]

That is, maybe I just want to think that these gods couldn't get one past my magnificent conspiracy watch skills--

[W...hat. Why is he saying such things... Suddenly he looks decidedly flustered.]

--In any case, that's all for now, then--[Hastily signing off...!

Better go walk this off, if possible. Action for Odin district is also available! He'll be wandering the district.]

[ooc: Midway through, Odin apparently got tired of his blathering and smacked a truth curse on him. He will be unusually honest for replies to this post. It will dismay him to say the least!]

25 August 2012 @ 02:24 am
[Somewhere outside today in some random, everyday, nondescript location is rather happy looking girl just... sitting and smiling. What she's looking at in particular though will be constantly changing though as, well, she's out people watching today! And she's clearly excited about it just giving her a passing glance.

If the intense staring isn't strange enough, depending on what she sees she might be reacting pretty crazily too. If someone is sitting elsewhere and looks like they're concentrating hard on something, Akari will look like she's thinking just as hard. If someone trips or looks like they're taking a long time to talk, she'll get worried and might even say to herself, "Will they reach their location before the day ends like this?!" Or if someone is just passing by normally, she'll still look on smiling happily.

Whatever she sees happening, if someone happens to look her way, Akari will give a friendly wave right away.]

11 August 2012 @ 04:38 pm
[ The video feed turns on to show a purple-haired teenager in Freyr's house. The feed turning on causes the girl on the screen to jump slightly, as if she's startled. ]

Oh! Oh, it's working. [ Deep breath, Ellen. Okay. Okay. You got this.

She smiles nervously for a moment, holding up a paper in her hands. She seems to have clenched her hands and wrinkled the paper, but she makes her best attempt to smooth it.

And then, in a tone that makes it obvious that she's reading right off of the paper, she begins to speak. ]

Hello everyone. My name is Ellen Kurokawa. I'm a fairy from Major Land, though I lived in Minor Land and then Earth before arriving here. I love music and making new friends, though I don't really know much about making friends. I hope I can be friends with all of you.

[ She lowers the paper, looking nervous. Did she do well there? Did she do everything right this time?

She gives a bow to the camera. ]

Thank you! [ And, after a second to figure out what to press, the feed turned off.

Yes, she just did a self-introduction. To the network. Like on the first day of school.

Welp. ]
