[There are a lot of unpleasant things about sleeping for a while. Harry can barely remember what was happening before he slept. Hermione. Hermione had been with Remus. They were meaning to get out invitations. All of that is a haze, and Harry wonders if he should be remembering something. In fact, he wishes that were the case; he wishes he knew more about the future. There are moments when he tries to pretend otherwise, but fighting a war does wear down on someone.

It leaves him to wonder if his world will truly be safe.

Then again, there are other unpleasant things about waking up after a long rest. The awareness that Gilderoy Lockhart has arrived is high on his list.

Of all the people to arrive from home ...

Though, in truth, at least it's not Voldemort again.

Just the same, he doesn't doubt that people are wondering where he is, so after he wakes up, after he has some tea and tries to look as if he hasn't been sitting in the same position for who knows how long, he sets his bracelet in front of him.]

Hello, everyone, I'm Harry. [Because the truth is, he doesn't know how long it's been. Better to be safe than sorry.] I've been asleep for a very long time. Too long, honestly, and I feel like there must be a lot that I've missed. [Agitation creeps into his tone there, and it's evident by the slight downturn of his mouth.]

To tell you the truth, I haven't really spoken on here since my warning about Tom Riddle, but he's come and gone now. Which I suppose has been announced, hasn't it?

But because I haven't been around, I wanted to say some things that I still feel are true. [And honestly, he likes being able to communicate it to newcomers.] I don't know how much many of you know about what's happening here, and I don't know how things have progressed, but before I went to sleep myself, Odin was drained and unable to go on. Before that happened, there was ... there was a row with the gods, I guess you could say. A lot of people were unhappy with them. And who could blame you, really? You've been taken here without your permission. Necessary evils and all that.

But the gods aren't bad people. Some of them are gits. [He's thinking of one in particular here.] And being here is unsettling, scary, and ... not fair. Especially to those of you who haven't experienced this sort of thing back home. But they're trying. They've been through a lot, and we wouldn't be here unless they were desperate to save their world and ... while some people doubt this, I don't, our own.

[There's a point where he looks away for a moment, gathering his thoughts.]

I think that's all. I'd like to catch up with everyone, and meet some new people.

And ... I'm really glad to be awake again. No one wants to sleep that long. Trust me.

You've quite a lot to catch up on, Harry... none of it good.

Someone... burnt down Professor Snape's school, and people are starting to disappear, Harry, more than usual... There's a bridge of Utgard has been covered by ice so cold it will give you frostbite upon touch and not even healing powers can take care of it...

And... there was a flood and so much was destroyed...

... No, none of that is very good.

[He decides to take it one at a time.]

Do we know who burned down Snape's school?

[She shakes her head.]

Or if Professor Snape does, he's not done anything.

But then things got very... scary for a long while, he may have been preoccupied.

With everything else.

I have a few very good ideas as to who it might be.

Someone's already decided to go and accuse people with no evidence, Mr. Harry. Professor Snape, Crouch, even that Longbottom boy, Pyro, and others. I don't know if there is someone really looking into the matter, but I hope Professor Snape doesn't find them.

[It's as friendly as ever, and though the next part is still playful, he's really not as- favorable towards the gods as he used to be.]

But who cares what the gods feel anyway. If they really wanted to help, they could all explode over the enemy~

And I don't think we want the gods exploding all over anyone. I think something very bad will happen if we should lose all the gods.

How bad? I bet it'd be pretty fun! One way or another the war would be over quick.

The war would be over, but possibly the worlds would be, too. They ... from what I understand, they're tied into whether this world continues to hold it together, you see.

Mm~ I guess that'd be sort of bad. But if it happens, it happens. It's no use thinking about it.

I rather think they've given up trying. But possibly that's what's happened since you've been asleep. So welcome back.

Can you explain what it is that you mean?

I mean we're not doing anything except patching things up, when it's increasingly obvious that more than that is required.

Do we have any idea of how to accomplish it? Have the gods said anything?

Have you been updated, regarding what happened so far?

I've heard a fair amount, but I'd like to hear every version, if possible.

Well, after Odin fell into a deep sleep, Fire Giants and the Ice giants eventually turned against each other. they fought near Asgard and the city was affected.

This world is also dying and the consequences are showing. Recently there was a big wave that flooded the city. Many were killed and we are currently helping the refugees from other allies that became homeless.

Good to see you're back. [Isaac is walking somewhere- somewhere definitely not in Asgard, at any rate.] Thought you died when the flood came around or something.

Surprisingly, I managed to sleep right through that, too.

[Which is unsettling, to say the least.]

How did the flood happen, exactly?

Rumor has it that it's to do with the whole world-collapse thing.

[Isaac shrugs.]

If there's an official cause, I haven't heard it.

How long did you sleep for?

At least two weeks, I think. Maybe longer.

Shit. [ that is a long time okay especially without food or water what were the logistics of this again ]

I feel like I haven't moved enough, to tell you the truth.

And there weren't nothing that could wake ya? Didn't any of your friends try nothing?

How have you been in the time I was gone? Have you settled in nicely?

[He sounds polite, at least. Actually, more than that, he sounds cordial. There's no need to be strained at this point.]

I've found a few things to occupy my time - it would be nice if none of that included disaster recovery, but apparently not even the gods could prevent this most recent debacle.

[And people still trickle in. It's worrying that even with all this apparent new blood, the city can't maintain itself.]

Have you eaten? I'm bringing you lunch.

[There's a pause.]

As long as it's not only pie. I think I need more than just pie this time.

I just made some grilled cheese sandwiches. Think you can stomach those?

Just bringing yourself should be all right. I need to finally leave this room and check out the rest of the shop.

I pass by it on the way to the Highwind -- it looks like it held up fine after the flooding. Which - by the way, we had a flood. I'll be there shortly!

Out of curiosity. Why don't you doubt it?

I've spoken to them enough in private that I think that they'd lose more than they have to gain by that ever coming to light, and given the way things are here, I'm certain that it would come to light.

That is the way that things tend to go here, isn't it?

I appreciate you summarizing that. I sort of hit the ground running when I arrived.

[a pause] I'm sorry, but... are you saying you slept through everything that happened recently?

Everything recently, unfortunately. It has something to do with the magic of the gods. [At least, he's seen enough people mention it that he has to assume. Some people awake up remembering more, just not him.]

But I've been through a great deal more awake, if that tells you anything.

Interesting. Seems a little counter-productive to have your warriors asleep through all the fighting.

Telling people some of them are jerks, but not saying who... I dunno if that's diplomatic of you or not.

Adds a whole new layer to waking up tired, doesn't it.

But not all of us are heroes.

About time, really. Quite an inconvenient time for a nap, you know.
