2nd theft - video.

[ Eugene turns on the communication and the first thing everyone will see...is white. White white white white -- and one big brown bag of opened flour and -- ]

Uh. I promise I'll clean this mess up after I'm done. [ Eugene the White Flour Man says next to the counter, looking very, very, very guilty. From the waist up, he's covered in flour. And the kitchen of Freya's House is not any better. Yes. That is the kitchen. See the outlines of the counters and the sink and the cabinets? Everything is covered in flour.

One can surmise by the larger amounts of flower circling the bag that it was forced open with enough strength that it exploded flour everywhere. Well, at least on the half of the kitchen where Eugene's standing with a bowl and spatula, wearing an apron that says KISS THE COOK over his usual attire.

It is going to take hours to clean up this mess. ]

In my defense, bags of flour shouldn't be that hard to open.

[ He puts the bowl and spatula on the counter. ]

Anyways, anyone with actual baking skills available to help me with a recipe?

[Baking skills, huh? Definitely one of his areas of expertise. Ryan tries to stop laughing before he answers, he honestly does, but it's still taking a little effort not to burst into snickering again-- That was a REALLY impressive mess.]

Depends on the recipe, but I can figure most things out. What is it you're looking to make?

[ Eugene finds it kind of funny as well -- he can laugh at his own mistakes -- and there's an amused smile as he wipes flour off of the recipe book and holds up the recipe. It is a detailed instruction for making Crostata Della Bisnonna. There's a picture of the completed dish in the upper-right hand corner. ]

[Ryan peers at the book, squinting slightly-- okay, that doesn't look too hard. So long as there's instructions there's probably not much he'd have a lot of difficulty with, though.]

That shouldn't be too bad- what bits are confusing, besides the flour? I'm not sure if we're talking 'about to smoke the kitchen up trying to bake' or 'just a minor setback' as far as how much help you need, here.

The recipe says I need to "sift" the flour and baking soda. [ He picks up the bowl. ] What the heck does "sift" mean?

And here I was hoping we'd just got an unseasonal snow that wasn't trying to kill us. Maybe another time, eh?

I thought so, yeah. [ Not even sorry. It's a YOLO life. ] Sadly, I can offer no real guidance in the art of flour-opening. But I wouldn't be surprised if you found someone in this city who made a career of it.

[ Eugene ignores the first statement because, yes, he could have used scissors. It would have made things much easier and maybe it would have helped avoid the mess all together. But it's past that point now. ]
