[...though video definitely wasn't Jack's intention. He was going for audio, but we all know how the glitchy the network is being this month. Or maybe showing his new looks on the network is part of the punishment?]

[Look at all that pretty brown! His skin looks more lively too, instead of the usual sheet white. This new Jack is sitting on a roof (nothing new there) and looking down at something with a frown on his face.]

This isn't the first time I've seen mister bones and scythe, but the clones are new. Actually staying and hanging out? That's entering freaky territory. [He runs his fingers through his (now brown!) hair.]

I thought people in Asgard were revived by the gods. What are they doing here?

[Looking the same as the day you died and having the reaper pay a visit? Perfect timing, just sayin'.]

((ooc: As a punishment for the gossiping post, Jack got cursed, so now he looks like his old human self. Some inbox-threads managed to calm him down a little... for the time being. Him getting snappy at questions is highly likely! Come at him, bros.
ETA: Sorry for the double post! I didn't think I would end up plotting with Sandy for this event.))

[ It's not often that the Doctor is angry.

Or, well. He's often angry, but he doesn't often show it. This time, he is. It's incredibly confusing to disappear for a while, and then come back and have all these new memories flood into you. He was fine, he was better, Clara made him better, and then.

Then he had a bad day, then he came back here, and he remembered again, remembered Amy, and losing her. Again. Losing Oswin. Clara, except not. Again.

And that's all that matters.

So he's angry. Furious. There's a fire in his eyes that would strike fear into those that could have entire galaxies tremble in their shadow.

Doesn't mean much here, won't mean much back home now that hardly anyone even remembers him, but he doesn't care. He doesn't care what it means, doesn't even think that it doesn't mean anything. Because Amy and Oswin are gone, and that is all that matters. ]

Bring them back.

[ That's it. And he will not take silence for an answer. ]

((OOC: This is more on the placeholder-y side because I'll be pretty busy until tomorrow sometime, but I wanted to bring him back today. So shoot me.))

((ooc: Well, ladies and gentlemen, here it is! The post for the Gossip Girl plot! Anything too dumb I'm blaming it on Loki. I'm turning off my notifs so feel free to mingle and jump on each other. Remember the network is glitchy so have fun with that too! Jack and Loki will anonfail some time in the comments so keep an eye out for them. If you need to contact us for anything, comment on the ooc plotting post or shoot us a pm.))

[He had heavily debated on if he wanted to turn on the video feed, all things considered. His head was still pretty foggy and he was struggling to grasp the fact that he had disappeared for ten full days.

No, correction. He'd blown himself up on camera and then disappeared for ten full days. Urgh. How embarrassing.

He first took the time to sift through the messages left on his bracelet, baffled by the sheer amount of information (and slightly amused/unsettled. Davesprite what is wrong with you.) Then he realized there were several responses to his original message before the disaster struck.

…he was fucked, wasn't he? Alas, he knew he couldn't keep hiding so the best method was to be as nonchalant as possible. That meant showing his face whether he wanted to or not.

When the feed flickers on anyone watching will see a boy who looks sort of like he was hit by the Knight Bus. His hair's messy, there are bags under his eyes and there's the slightest hint of a five o'clock shadow on his chin.]

…hey. [Yes, Draco. After all this time, the most you can do is say hey.] Three things.

First of all, how many of you from that large influx of people are still here?

Two, what's the state of my apothecary?

And three, I'm in desperate need of an aspirin.

…oh, and four. If the gods would just allow for a little more freedom in alchemy…[He'll just grumble to himself.] I'm not done tweaking that formula, so I don't want to hear it. We're pretending nothing happened, understand? Just so we're clear.

I hope everyone who's sick gets better. I wish there was more I could do. Back home, if I still had my hair's power, I could help. But it doesn't work here in Asgard, since my power here is drawing life instead. I'm not sure how much I might be able to help, but I could maybe offer to help at the clinic or hospital if basic first aid helps or something? I guess I just....feel pretty helpless with all of this, right now.

Everyone, just try to keep an eye on each other, okay? I'm sure the gods are doing what they can and looking into this so we can fix it. Just hang on until then.

[And with that, Rapunzel ends the feed, a small part of her still grateful for Eugene's paranoia and stopping her drinking the water.]

[The presence of so many people was more than disconcerting, and Draco's just kind of glad to be rid of everyone. Being away from the distractions of various people (including his family at different ages, Merlin's beard), meant he could finally focus on what he was working on prior to their arrival.

It's pretty early in the morning today but Draco has his camera feed turned on his bracelet. He's in his shop working with some materials that are bubbling in the pot in front of him.]

Never again, gods. Never. Again. I can't believe you let such a mistake occur in the first place…not to mention apparently you forgot some of them. [Here's looking at you, Potter. Get out of Asgard. Now.

Oh well. Adding here, mixing there, and there's a loud pop suddenly. Grinning, he takes a small vial and fills it with his latest potion, using an eyedropper to grab some and squeeze a few drops onto a nearby table.

Bam. Victory! The latest explosion potion works! He''ll just turn his attention back to the video feed, not quite noticing that the rest of the pot's bubbling a little too violently.]

In other news, once again I'm completely brilliant in ways most of you aren't. Excellent. Euri, we've another potion to add to our stock. I finally perfected the formula. So, Asgard. We now offer a small line of offensive potions including explosives. Considering that I've figured out this formula we can work further to create stronger, more powerful potions for the next--

[The problem with brewing potions when you're not entirely stable and happy is that they're sure to backfire on you. It's a precise art with very little room for error. This is the case for Draco Malfoy. He's in the middle of his sentence when there's a series of volatile pops, followed by a loud explosion. The only thing visible on screen is a surprised yell and a cloud of smoke, a wave of acidic yellow liquid bursting from the confines of the pot.

When it clears, the camera feed is static and shows a view of the floor. It's assumed that Draco's lifeless body's laying there despite it not being on screen. The feed shuts off five minutes later and he disappears completely. Oops.]

[ooc: not responding to any tags, but feel free to tag amongst yourselves or whatever if you'd like. Draco's dead for a day and upon returning will have lost his bracelet so ICly he's out of touch for a week or two. Also posting a day early because internet outage at my house.]

[She's just going to be ... brief. There's a tense sort of relief in her voice, but hey. It's been a while, hasn't it?]

I guess I'm back, then. Been a bit longer than I thought... Sorry.

[Private to The Ninth Doctor]

...You around?

[Hello, Asgard. Look who is finally making his first post to the network? Jack is sitting on a roof and enjoying a blue popsicle. It seems their little trip to the cold lands wasn't enough ice for him.]

Moral of the story: 'frost giants' aren't as cool as they sound.

[...it's a joke, ok, don't judge him much. He needs to deal somehow with the fact the trip pretty much sucked. Jokes are also his way of trying to break the ice see what I did. Answering to people's silly thoughts? No problem. Starting conversation by his own? That's gonna need more practice.]

Someone mentioned weapons when I arrived, and how I should I ask the network about it. Maybe you do have an idea of what to do about--

[He uses telekinesis to make the two halves of a shepherd crook float next to him.]

--this. Because without my original powers, my staff is now just... a piece of wood, I guess.

[Brilliant deduction, Jack. All these changes are sure bothering you, huh?]

[Nevy really, honestly, genuinely... hates everyone. Like. Everyone. Everyone except Gil, because Gil is wonderful, but yet again Gil is not here and Nevy has no idea what to do other than curl up in her bed and seethe.

The awful creature was in her bathtub, again. Except this time, when she howled in fury and pounded on the other's door, no one came in to save her. Not Pyro, not the nice girl, Oswin. No one. And so she banged on the door for like ten minutes, before the sulking lizard started attempting to escape its bathtub prison and she shrieked and ran for cover, slamming the door to lock the creature inside the room, ready to forget about it.

Two hours later, when she had to use the toilet, it was there still. Further banging was yet unproductive, and so with an angry huff, she pushed on the doorhandle --

-- and the door swung open, uninhibited, to an empty room.

The neighbors surely must have heart her enraged shouting, but Nevy didn't care! How awful! What a horrible person!

Still in need of the toilet, she chased the creature into the empty apartment with a broom to give her peace and quiet in the bathroom. Halfway through, she heard it scratching at the door between them. Ugh. She had fled to her room and locked herself in, ready to forget about the thing.

An hour and a half after that, she hears scratching again.

She bites her lip, staring at the door. What the heck is she supposed to do with it, even? If it dies, it'll stink up the whole apartment... But she doesn't want it! She doesn't want to feed it or take care of it! Ugh ugh ugh!]

Hi, um. Does anyone know what lizards eat? My awful roommate is gone... but he left his terrible pet in the bathroom again... [Her cheeks pinken.] I don't want it to die, it'll start smelling and I don't want to have a dead animal next to my room!

This is so awful. Could someone please come take it away?

[Someone doesn't look happy. He glares right at the bracelet for just a second before launching into his speech, tiredly putting on his best attempt at a neutral face. He might even sound happy at points, but there's something forced about it.]

I've been told that our dead from the past few days should've popped right back up by now. A few of you have, as far as I can see. Good for you. Try not to get killed next time.

But that's not what this is about. As it turns out, there's a glitch in the system. Someone's slipped through the cracks. When all you lot came stumbling back into the light, a lovely girl by the name of Rose Marion Tyler should've been right there with you---blonde, crooked smile, far too prone to wandering off.

[Any traces of joviality abruptly disappear. He glares straight through the bracelet.]

She wasn't there.

Tell me anything you know about what might be wrong, and how I can go about finding her.

[With one last glare at the bracelet, he clicks it off.]

[ The moment the Doctor gets back into the city, he turns on the bracelet to, well. Announce his return. Except the moment it's started recording he seems to remember something, and instead he starts patting himself down, runs his tongue over his teeth and touches his chin and his nose and runs his fingers through his hair.

His hair which... isn't the same colour it usually is. But, naturally, he doesn't know that.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Doctor has ended up ginger. Temporarily, but he sure is ginger. ]

I still have the same body. Same chin, same nose, same teeth, same height, same everything. I died and I didn't change!

That is weird.

[ And he laughs, because it really is, and he starts walking about and basically doing... all sorts of things with his arms and legs, hopping and jumping and waving his hands. Because it sure feels exactly the same.

After a few moments of that, he starts talking. ]

Hello, everyone, I'm back! Did you miss me?

[ Before he ends the feed, he spreads his arms with a grin. ]

[Daenerys is not happy at the moment. She suddenly found herself away from the Dothraki sea, her Drogon is once more about this size, but she clearly remembers him being larger... Not to mention Viserion and Rhaegal are missing. Her discomfort was not helped when the maid explained her situation, and even less when she was ushered out of the palace where she first arrived.]

Does this magical thing even work? If it does and someone is listening to me, especially Loki and those other gods, I would like to be sent back to Essos immediately. I have my own war to fight, and I will not be delayed by staying here and getting involved in something I have no interest in.

I also let you all know that if someone took my dragons, you shall not be forgiven.

[And since Dany has nothing else to say at the moment, she will turn off the feed.]

12 June 2013 @ 09:16 pm
So, Alice mentioned that I should probably look at getting some shoes? I never really needed them back home, but she said it would be a good idea here for when it gets colder or something. I'm not sure what else I might need when it gets colder, but if someone could point me to where I can get some shoes or boots that'd be great. [She doesn't really think they seem all that comfortable, but still. If it stops Alice and Eugene worrying about her, she can at least try.]

As for the spy, well, I'm glad he wasn't executed at least. But even so, he's stuck in that same place now. I...I know what it's like to be...well, trapped somewhere. I wouldn't want to wish that on anyone else. But I do understand, he is more useful to us alive, and it's better than killing him. I'm sure we could gain some information, maybe figure out if there are other spies here, have him give us names?

[She still seems uncomfortable about this, however. It's taking a while, getting used to the idea that she would need to make those decisions a lot more, or at least contribute to them once she returns home and claims her crown and title as the princess of Corona. At this stage though, she isn't entirely sure she is ready for any of that. She shakes her head, trying to put on a more reassuring smile for the network.]

I see we have some new faces though, that might not know about any of that yet. I'm Rapunzel for those who are new here. Oh yes, I guess some of you might have already talked to him or met him, but Eugene is here! Isn't that great? Oh, but I don't mean it's great he has to be involved in this war and everything. I'm just...I'm glad he's here.

Buon pomeriggio, Asgard.

[(Good afternoon)]

I have a small announcement to make, actually... it is very exciting! Maybe I should just show you.

[Leonardo stepped away from the 'camera view screen' and the angle was readjusted to show off a moderately sized building. ]

This is my new workshop! It is in the Freyr district in the area close to the center of town.

I thought I would open it up to accepting apprentices, if there is anyone out there who would like to learn the methods of art. But, there is enough room here that I could also rent out work-spaces if there are artists or craftsmen who would just like a place to work in.

Oh and one more thing! I had some time to work on this...

[The bracelet cam was suddenly moved as Leonardo entered the building. One might catch a glimpse of a newly begun painting of a handsome young man riding an eight-legged horse as he passed by the easel the new piece was situated on.
But the camera fully focused again on a machine. It had wheels, a nozzle at one end, and a copper vessel on the back that had been secured to support water and the steam it would eventually hold.
]

When we were discussing ways to fight against Thiazi and her creatures made of ice I thought my designs for the ice melting contest might be modified to make a kind of steam weapon. It has not been tested yet. Since it is dealing with steam I did not want to run the risk of explosion inside the city.

[After he mentioned the possibility that the thing might explode he felt kind of sheepish adding the next part. ]

Would anyone be willing to help me test it?

I, Draco Malfoy, am a genius.

[The video flips around to show a very pleased Mr. Malfoy sitting in the back room of the apothecary he and Euri own before panning down to a variety of little bottles and boxes.]

I just wish it hadn't taken this long to actually get the formulas right. Anyhow, Asclepius has some new inventory. Ask me about it, I dare you. I'm just sorry I haven't finished perfecting my ultimate project. But just you wait. I'll have a grand unveiling soon.

[There…are a lot of other things Draco could talk about if he wanted to. Like the recent trip to Utgard. Or about how he and ??? had interrogated the caught spy. Or about how he had plans now thanks to a conversation with some of the gods.

But he won't. Because he's Draco, why would he ever share anything that didn't come across as incredibly self-centered? It's an act, first and foremost. He has to come off as arrogant and dignified as possible to pretend people didn't see his inner workings. It's probably a giant, failed attempt.]

In the meantime…let's pretend I actually care about the answer to this. Your greatest achievements. Tell me about them? Consider it fuel for another side project of mine…

[Filtered to Riku]

Got something you may be interested in.

[Filtered to ???]

Looks like you're not the only one creating things.

[Filtered to Hermione]

So…when would you like to meet for your first lesson?

[Filtered to Rapunzel]

Now that that's accomplished, how would you like to do some research with me about the rest I'm working on?

[Filtered to Jade]

How do you feel about surprises?

[ The video opens to show an annoyed young man, with his arms folded, and his jaw twitching with restrained anger. ] So after getting what I take is the usual introduction spiel, let me get this straight: I'm trapped in this city of gods because the gods need someone to fix their problems and I have no choice in any of this. Is that right? [ He unfolds his arms. ] Because if that's the case, then I'm going to have to decline the great lodgings and excellent living benefits, because I've got more important, particularly pressing matters to tend to back home.

[ Eugene closes his eyes, trains his jaw to not twitch and settles his feature. He wants to appeal to these gods, so he should be softer-spoken, right? Normally, Eugene wouldn't use this kind of manner with kidnappers, but as Rapunzel is back home, about to embark on a whole new chapter of her life with her real parents, he can't not take a risk. ]

Look. Freyja -- that's your name, right? Well, Freyja, you are supposed to stand for love, right? You not realize this but, I've got this girl back home who is pretty important to me. In fact...I think I love her. [ He reaches an arm behind his neck and rubs at it anxiously, looking away from the device, suddenly bashful, which hasn't happened since he was a kid. ] Her name's Rapunzel, and she's...she's everything to me. And I think she loves me, too. So...

[ He clasps his hands together and gives the device a very earnest look. ] Isn't it kind of counteractive to your station to separate two people in love?

[Okay, so the sight of Rapunzel with Pascal is not a strange one, they were already pretty much inseparable, and yes it was true she did often love to paint and cook, and it did take hours to brush her hair. But now, she seems unable to leave her paintbrush for some reason. Almost like she feels scared and vulnerable without it. When she wasn't actually trying to practice her power or just painting for fun, she had her paintbrush behind her ear or clutched in her hand. Around her are more paintings (on paper this time), as she has been going through some art books from the library and trying to copy some of the pictures in them.]

I know back home I...kind of painted a lot. I guess it helped me feel like I was painting over the walls, making them disappear...I don't know, that probably sounds a little silly. But yeah, I just can't seem to just leave my paintbrush in my room for some reason. Even Pascal has noticed it. Which is kind of strange.

[And she knows it, looking a little sheepish as she holds to her frying pan with a weak smile, looking down briefly before glancing back to the bracelet.]

More importantly, I'd been wanting to organize an art group or something? I gather quite a few in my house could probably help with that, in Freyr. And also, if anyone hasn't been to the library yet, it's amazing and has so many books!

[Which. Is kind of a big deal for her, since she had all of three books back in the tower at home.]

[Someone doesn't feel like showing his face this time. Besides, text makes it easier to distance himself.]

Welcome to Asgard, those of you who are new. I'm Merlin. If any of you need help around the city, don't hesitate to ask.

Anyway this seemed a good time to bring up some plans I have been working on with a few others. I know it hasn't been long since the nightmare attack, but this is something we should think about while we recover. Even if Sigyn says Thiazi does not have the power to create a similar attack right now, she and her allies did have enough to attack the city with the Darkness last time. The war hasn't ended and we still have to be prepared for anything, whether we want to fight on the front-lines or not. They've made it clear that they'll bring the battle to us and consider anyone in the city a target.

There's going to be a Teacher's Council meeting in a few days. It'll be one of the two new structures we're going to be using from now on. This one includes a strategy discussion, for any new attacks we're dealing with and to think of ways to counter the old attacks in case they do something similar again. We'll also extending to practice area for general use, not just the house powers. Anything you think will be useful during an attack is fair game. If anyone wants to learn about first aid, Castiel, Watson, and I from the Medic Corps will be there to give some instruction.

The second structure is a bit more simple. The Citadel, the Teacher's Council, and Grimoire's Sigil will be working together in some workshops to find ways to combine weaponry, house powers, and runes effectively. We need to learn to use anything we have at our disposal.

That's all. Anyone is welcome to these meetings so I hope to see some of you there. If anyone wants to talk about the Teacher's Council or their powers, you can leave a message on my bracelet.

[ When the feed comes up, Kate is looking grim. Or well, not grim, but serious. There are slight bags under her eyes of her own doing, but her eyes themselves seem to be alive for what feels like the first time in weeks.

She doesn't look happy. In fact, she looks extremely professional, with her mouth in a thin line and her brows furrowed slightly. If you squint, you might just see the cop uniform, the police badge. ]

I need everyone in Asgard to remain inside for the rest of the day if you can. If going outside is necessary, please remain outside of the Odin District.

[ If you're looking at the feed around her, you might recognize an alleyway. It looks like any old alley in the Odin District, so the chances of you recognizing the exact location are slim. Behind her there seems to be a collection of natives - most of whom seem to have a good amount of their color returned, and all of whom look concerned. They're standing behind what looks like a normal piece of rope, held up by two brooms on each side of the opening of the alley.

Kate looks back over her shoulder at them for a minute, which opens up the feed to blood splatter along the wall behind her. There's no view of a body, because she is being very careful to avoid putting that up on the network, but there is enough blood in view for anyone to have a general idea of what's going on. ]

I need everyone to stay behind the rope. Yes, behind the rope, thank you.

[ Kate turns back to the feed, regaining the same professionalism as before. ]

I've been notified by a shopkeep in the Odin District that there's been a murder. We don't know any details yet, but it seems the victim was a native, killed sometime last night. [ She's quiet for a moment, thinking about how much easier this would be if she had more people to call, more things to accomplish, but for now this will do. ] Until the murderer is caught, I would advise everyone to be extremely cautious when they move around the city at night. Don't go out alone, let people know where you're going, and please, please don't go looking for whoever did this.

Just because they seem to have targeted a native does not mean that they won't move on to travelers as well.

If anyone has any information regarding the murder - if you saw or heard anything that you think might be helpful - please feel free to contact me. My name is Kate Beckett and I work with the Forensics Unit out of the Hospital.

Thank you.

[ she cuts the feed off and immediately sets up a filter. ]

FILTERED TO FORENSICS UNIT

I need everyone who does not have any other obligations on site as soon as possible. I've sent the location to each of your bracelets. I've already notified Analie and the rest of the native team to bring all the equipment, but I'd appreciate... [ she looks over her shoulders again at the crowd that seems to still be growing ] any help, really.

It's too early to tell if this is connected to our last case, but I'll let you know if we learn anything. Again, come if you can, and if you can't we'll have a debriefing about it tomorrow morning.
