13th Mishmash ~ [Video]
[ It's not often that the Doctor is angry.
Or, well. He's often angry, but he doesn't often show it. This time, he is. It's incredibly confusing to disappear for a while, and then come back and have all these new memories flood into you. He was fine, he was better, Clara made him better, and then.
Then he had a bad day, then he came back here, and he remembered again, remembered Amy, and losing her. Again. Losing Oswin. Clara, except not. Again.
And that's all that matters.
So he's angry. Furious. There's a fire in his eyes that would strike fear into those that could have entire galaxies tremble in their shadow.
Doesn't mean much here, won't mean much back home now that hardly anyone even remembers him, but he doesn't care. He doesn't care what it means, doesn't even think that it doesn't mean anything. Because Amy and Oswin are gone, and that is all that matters. ]
Bring them back.
[ That's it. And he will not take silence for an answer. ]
((OOC: This is more on the placeholder-y side because I'll be pretty busy until tomorrow sometime, but I wanted to bring him back today. So shoot me.))

He had progressed in his time line to the point where Amy and Rory had been taken from him. Perhaps even further, judging from his clothing]
Doctor...
[The note of pain in her voice must have echoed. It felt like she was back in the TARDIS, watching him struggle to absorb an ending he had never anticipated]
no subject
For a moment he forgot about River.
Or maybe he didn't think too much about it because he only ever looked at the contact list for Oswin and Amy. Didn't really want to... He didn't want to know.
It hurts too, seeing her. Hearing her voice, his name on her lips, the way only she says it. His name, no "sweetie", no "love", no jest. She knows. She can see it, read him like she so stubbornly learned to do.
...
He doesn't want to, he doesn't want to. ]
Don't give me that.
[ Leave him alone. Go away. He can't do this. ]

Sorry.
no subject
He almost crumples. Feels tired, suddenly, more than angry, and drops his head, lowers it, rubs his hand over his face. Sorry, she says, and it's funny how such a tiny, useless word can be so, so important. Sorry doesn't fix anything, doesn't change the past or the future. Where does its power come from?
There's nothing for him to say, not really. And in any cases, River doesn't need words. ]

Doctor.
I'm sorry.
1/2
[ Except it isn't. It doesn't have to do with the word, with the apology. It has to do with her, with them, with everything they haven't actually sorted out yet, everything he's ignored before but now...
Maybe she understands him better than anyone, really. That is, anyone that isn't the TARDIS, and anyone that isn't the kind of person that would starve psychic pollen because there's no darkness to feed off of them. It could feed on Sophie, he knows that. He picks his friends with great care, he said, and here he is, with someone almost-- No, definitely frighteningly like him.
He's terrified, he supposes. Could he be blamed for that? ]

He sucks it up. It takes a great amount of willpower, but he does; sucks in a breath, long and deep, wraps the anger in it, shoves it down and puts a lid on it. She doesn't need to see it. ]

[She can't make it better. She can't bring them back for him and it breaks her heart to see him hurting so much. He won't want to talk about it, he rarely does when people are gone.]
[But there is still something she can do. Something she's always done when he's lost someone. She can be with him.]
Where are you, dear?
[It's not said unkindly, but it's definitely firm. She won't leave him alone.]

But that's how it is with loss. And now he's felt it twice-- no, thrice.

But someone else is missing, possibly multiple someones, and he recognises that anger. He can't even snap at the Doctor in the face of it, after what he's been through.]
But it's all an accident, Doctor. They can't control it. Total coincidence when you lose a shitload of important people all at once, no matter who you are.
[And then he sets it to private, his voice darkening even further.]
I don't give a fuck about whatever happened before. I'm up for working together again if you are. I've had enough.

Everyone deserves a second chance, he tries to go by. Perhaps he hasn't really given Pyro one.

video;
Turning on the video transmission, without a second thought, Soushi will simply observe the other male with a rather serious expression of his own, but he could tell his eyes were currently betraying him because he did feel concern for him. That, and he was happy to see him again. He was glad that he had returned. Really glad.
Regardless, it was not the time to say or offer polite words of welcome, instead it was time to communicate with the Doctor, to listen to him and try to be understanding just like he has done for him and always does.
So Soushi will watch the Doctor, just watch him, with as much seriousness as he can muster. It was clear he was not going to speak as he was simply observing his friend, but it was clear he was silently asking: Do you wish to talk about it? Or do you prefer to express your feeling in a fit of rage without any passing judgement nor repeating hollow words of comfort, just having someone listen and keep you company?]
video;
What a pleasant change.
There's only one problem; hard to hold a conversation when none of the parties intend to talk. ]
So I'm supposed to do all the talking, am I?
[ Oh, yes, great idea, Doctor, encourage him to start talking right after you decided it's best this way. ]
Well I'm tired of talking.

[Gaara watches him in contemplative silence. Judging by his anger, and responses from other people, can piece together what must have happened.]
Your friends may have returned to your world. Can you find solace in that fact?
[He keeps his voice cool and calm, speaking factually rather than emotionally. He’s not trying to come off as cold, but… he’s never been good at offering comfort.]

Normally he'd probably keep both of them away. But he's already told the TARDIS where he is, and there's only so much he can do here, and she's going to follow him anywhere and might just give it away. He shouldn't be alone, he knows that, and if Amy was here she'd make him let her help. It's almost like Rory's settling to fill in for her somehow.
It might as well be Amy, which is the frightening thing, which is why - after a moment of thinking of how to avoid it - he answers. ]

He just gets stupid when angry. And doesn't want to think he might not be able to do something.
