Yo, Asgard! Been awhile, huh? I got a simple two for ya today.

*With that, he holds up a single finger into view.*

First! What do you consider your ideal form of entertainment here?

*And finger number two comes up.* Second! What have you spent the runes you've been earning here on?

These are Serious Questions that could very well shape your entire future here, folks! It's best to be honest! Just because I'm from Loki doesn't mean I'm up to something, so go ahead, pour out your honest replies!

[ the feed clicks onto the faces of two girls -- one with brown hair, and one with blue. it's Hilda and Dawn to be exact, and they both look pretty giddy. ]

Hey guys, we have an announcement! So you'd better listen up, okay?

It looks like there's a lot of stuff to do around here, right? You know, places to go, and stuff like that! But there's not anywhere that's a lot like back home, so...

[ she looks Hilda's way, leaving the actual meat of the announcement to her. the pokétopia is technically all hers, after all. ]

A little bit back, some of us from the Pokémon universe opened up a cafe! It's called Pokétopia, right smack dab in the middle of Sigyn district. We've got all kinds of stuff there to eat, from boxed lunches and pizza to cupcakes and smoothies! And all of it is Pokémon themed, of course!

But the thing is... we're a little short staffed as of recently.

It's pretty hard to run a cafe without a bunch of people, you know? You need lots of people to cook, and lots of people to help the customers, and all that!

Exactly! So we wanted to let everyone know that job applications are wiiiiide open. if you're a new here or not and want a place to work, come on down and give us a look! You'll be glad you did, promise.

[ and she whispers to Dawn. ] Did we forget anything?

[ she puts a finger to her lips, considering, before turning to whisper back: ] Hmm... I don't think so... It feels like we got everything, at least!

Wait a sec... uniforms! Duh!  [ oops. and to the feed: ] For anyone who's interested in working, we guessed you should know what you're gonna be wearing.

Oh, right! I guess that is pretty important, huh?

[ she smiles sheepishly, gesturing down to her uniform and then fluffing up the skirt a bit. ]

This is what we wear at work! It's pretty cute, isn't it?

[ and Hilda does the same with her's, stepping back and doing a bit of a twirl. ] The girls do, anyway. The boys get really nice white suits with red ties - Poké Ball colours, y'know?

[ Dawn nods along as Hila speaks, and then chimes in. ]

Unfortunately, we don't have anyone here to show you guys how they look! They're really cool, though, so don't worry about looking silly.

That's right! But if you guys have any questions that we didn't get to, reply to this and we'll answer 'em. Hope we see you at the cafe soon!

[ and the feed goes off. ]

(( ooc: dark pink is Dawn, and light pink is Hilda! tags will come from both girls in your character -> Hilda -> Dawn order. ))

[ here'd be the sounds of small but hardy feet tapping rhythmically against wooden boards, as well as enthusiastic clapping. then, wherever you are, travellers, unfortunately your bracelets would be broadcasting the rather curious visual of two child-sized men standing on one of the tables, using it as some sort of make-shift stage. the third one wasn't on the table, but he was still merrily clapping along. then three voices, their words clear as any day, could be heard belting out the following song: ]

Hey ho, to the bottle I go!
To heal my heart and drown my woe.
Rain may fall and wind may blow.
But there still be – many miles to go!

[ yes, they were generally, shamelessly making a ruckus in one of the city taverns, their rather small hands holding cups of ale that weren't anywhere as good as any found in the shire's green dragon. sorry, big folks, but your peace have been invaded by hobbitses!

at this point the third one was finally encouraged to stand and dance along with his cousins: ]

Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain,
and the stream that falls from hill to plain.
Better than rain or rippling brook –

[ and one of them breaks out to belt the last words: ]

--is a mug of beer inside this Took!

[ ooc: hobbits intro! replies will be coming in from any (or all!) of the three hobbits :D ]

I am super sorry, guys! I know I asked everyone a bunch of questions just a few days ago, but I forgot something!

[ She leans down, fumbling for something beneath her desk, and then -

Jade thrusts some sort of makeshift book right up to the bracelet's camera with this drawn on the cover: ]

I'm making a comic book for Roxas! Staring Griddlebone, the roguish yet charming Squiddle pirate with a heart of gold. Critique welcome! And if anyone knows where to find actual comic books, I'd appreciate it. I just don't think I'm cut out for this business!

[The man in the video seems jovial enough at at a glance, but anyone who looks closer might notice his distrust, not quite masked by his smile. There is relief, too, though whatever he was about to face he would not have been defenceless. He is armed with a recurve bow, and though it isn't loaded there is a quiver full of arrows on his back, and there is a scimitar sheathed by his side.]

It seems today is not such a good day to die after all. People of Asgard, I'd like to thank you once I know my men are as safe as I am. I'm glad at least someone had a better plan than mine.

My name is Robin Hood. I suppose I should feel privileged. It is rare a man of my status is considered an honoured guest, unless he's to be a guest of the cells, or perhaps the noose if it's a bad day.

I won't pretend to understand what is been asked of me here, nor whatever else I have been told of this place. I never thought I would be able to talk in such a way to anyone, and I would consider charm to be more a talent than a power, though a talent I will admit comes more freely to some than to others.

[Robin offers an easy grin, but it doesn't last long. Asgard isn't the only thing on his mind, and it soon changes to a more serious expression. Guarded, but concerned. He takes a breath.]

Lads. If any of you are here and have been shown how to use this, let me know. Some of you may not trust this, I know. I understand. But for the moment we have no choice. We have to regroup. I need to know you're okay.

What would you do if someone hurt a very close friend of yours while they were in a vulnerable position and couldn't fight back?

Would you track them down and go after them?

Would you try to reason with them?

Would you let it go, since your friend is fine now?

How do you deal with something like this?

[Aika has a rather sheepish look on her face as she addresses the network today. Her room in Freya, in the background, looks distinctly lacking in the furniture department.]

So... suppose that your furniture got damaged in the flood. Will the maids replace it? If not, is there anyone here skilled in carpentry that would be able to help me out? I promise I'll pay you! ... somehow.

[Kyou has three words for you Asgard, but he doesn't know if he has the time or the energy to say it, but he'll say it. ]

Ya know there's something I gotta say and that's

AND THAT'S
-[and then he sags as if all the energy is completely]

This....place it sucks and ya know what, THIS PLACE  I REALLY [he breathes in and out, like he's about to pass out at any moment]

hate it
[and then he sags his shoulders and just quits while he's ahead.  God damn this place.]

Stupid rain. Is it ever gonna stop?

[for those of you who don't know.  Kyou has a thing against water and he acts like crap whenever it rains a lot.  Also sorry for the late I've been on hiatus, but I'm back now ;A;]

[Have a somewhat soggy boy smiling brightly at the screen. He looks totally trustworthy! Behind him, for those who care to notice, are the trappings of Baldr's Welcome Hall.]

So I'm told we're stuck in this place, but hey, at least we can annoy each other with these awesome bracelet things.

I'm looking for my good friend Marui Bunta. Redhead, constantly chewing gum, likes to tell people all about his genius moves. You may have witnessed his amazing skills at falling on his own face earlier.

Anyway, he's feeling down in the dumps and I wanted to come cheer him up, but I can't seem to find which room he's in. He's being a total jerk and not answering me. Would anyone happen to know which one in Baldr Hall is his?

16 June 2012 @ 11:48 pm
[With the water everywhere outside, Marui's chosen to just... stay inside. All the time. Unfortunately that leaves him bored out of his mind with noting to do. Even with the influx of new people on the bracelets, it's not really doing much to crack his boredom.

So why not try his power? Yep. Any practice he's had is probably very little, considering there was no real reason to actually try it. But what the hey, why not now of all times?

Standing in the middle of his bed, he gets a few feet up before he loses his footing on... the... air? Whatever is keeping him afloat basically. The next thing he knows he's landing face first on his bed, bracelet arm tucked under himself.

Basically all that's going to be seen of his feed at first is nothingness. Until there's a loud curse and suddenly MARUI's ROOM and the annoying redhead himself as he grumbles.]

Flying. What a lame power.

[Some of you may recognize this voice, and some of you may not. Ramirez didn't often lend himself to actually speaking to people unless the circumstances were particularly dire. Or annoying.

But chances are, even if you know what he sounds like, you are still not quite going to recognize the voice that comes through the woodwork to this bracelet. The voice is the same, but the tone is completely different; there's a sort of warmth to it he never had before, a strange sort of soft-spoken tenderness that would put any young child at ease.

It's the sort of voice you might expect from a very kind older brother.]

I've had access to a multitude of books, but it was never anything of this magnitude. [There's something in his voice that's filled with awe, a very quiet and vibrant sort of joy.]

Upper City had several libraries of note, but even those were paltry compared to this. The vast scope and variation of your geographic charts is something that cannot be duplicated in one area.

[It's like the adult male version of sounding like a kid in a candy store. Really. You can bet he has several books laid open in front on the table next to him. After the intial gushing over this library though, he seems to catch himself.]

But I beg your pardon. From what I gather, it sounds as though it's possible I might be here a while.

It's not the most ideal of circumstances, but...[His voice trails off into an uncomfortable, thoughtful silence.]

...It sounds as though I have little choice but to assist this world in its time of need. I assure you, I will do what's needed.

My name is Ramirez; it's a pleasure to meet you.

((ooc: Unfortunately, Ramirez has found himself subject to the whims of the gods, possibly in a last-ditch attempt to make him socialize more without pissing everyone off. He has mentally regressed 7 years, from 24 to 17. And as you can tell from this post, the difference in demeanor from those seven years is a very, very big one.

Replies will be coming from [personal profile] aetos.))

[ When you're prepared for the worst, worst does happen. You fail that test with the lowest expectations, your family member dies just as you read his will over, so on and so forth. It hurts less that way, but everyone knows that. Talk is cheap. Everyone ever is perfectly capable of understanding their own emotions, whether they've yet to experience them or not.

Here is where he's perfectly safe in the boundaries of his own room; here lies Dave Strider. He dreamt of a lot of things.
]

Losing my head to Hollywood
My liver to London
My youth to Tokyo...

[ It's quite inaudible; he's only just mumbling to himself. Song, lyrics, lyrics, music. It's not the gods that made are causing him to hum to himself this time, only own willpower.

He runs his hands through his hair, sitting up. He notices the video on, at last, and pauses.

Avoid the inevitable awkward 'on the spot' network post?
> Too cool for that
> Shut up

You've decided to say something completely unexpected! After all you've been thinking about this for like, what? A day?
]

You know, even after all this time spent in this place, I haven't bothered to really test out my powers. Freyr house represent, I guess. [ Quick! Make it interesting! ] I'm probably going to need a couple of test subjects, like, the kind that don't mind a few concussions and/or minor injuries sustained particularly to the ear area. [ ....That was a joke? ] Ahaha, no, kidding. All you need to do is listen to me. That's all. Just listen to me. Entertaining the gods not guaranteed.

Context is revealed on a case-by-case basis?? Yeah, sure. [ Staring at you. Then click. ]

[ ooc: wow i always make ooc notices (cry) anyway, depending on what he asks your character, should you reply, he'll do different funky monkey dances! no i'm kidding, you can figure this out??? question mark ]

[There's something odd about this post: for one it's on purpose and two, it's a voice one. Something seem off? Could be by the tone of her voice.]

I have a question for you, Asgard: is it wrong to wish others from home were with you here?

[It's just that line before she cuts it. Yeah, she's feeling a bit lonely.]

11 June 2012 @ 02:41 am
[While most people seem to be bothered and concerned about the sudden influx of water, Akari looks positively joyous when the feed turns on. She's practically bubbling over with excitement, and it's evident from how excitedly she talks and splashes around the welcome hall of Freya.]

Hahi, it's almost like an Aqua Alta! Or maybe I should call it an Asgard Alta here? [She laughs, continuing to play about and splash in the water.] I hope this means summer's just around the corner here too! Though it feels a little weird to have the seasons so short... I think it's even shorter than it was back on Manhome.

Oh, but this is making me wonder--I've never been outside the city here, but are we actually close by a sea or ocean maybe? That would be really nice actually, I'd have a bigger area to practice rowing...

[But that's when she realizes.] My gondola is still at the lake!

[WITH THE WATER LEVEL HIGHER WHAT IF IT WASHED AWAY oh god oh man the feed gets one flustered and rushing Akari before she hastily manages to switch it off. For anyone at the park and around the lake though, well... Just as she feared, her gondola's drifted all the way to the middle of the lake. She's standing at what is probably the shore of the lake (granted with how submerged everything is, who can tell) looking like she's wondering what she should do when--

Is that a swimsuit she's holding in her hands.]

[ Yozora hates it when she has to announce the loser club's Important Events. Believe it or not, she gets shy. And when she gets shy, you can be sure that she has her trusty horse head by her side. Or in this case, on her head. She's been wearing it since this morning. ]

Attention, Neighbors Club! To make use of Kodaka's winnings from Asgard's last atrocious contest that I never want to participate in ever again, we're holding an event open to club members and normals alike. It is, of course, aligned with our club's mission and vision. Through this activity, we aim to improve our abilities in fostering teamwork and camaraderie among people we may not necessarily agree with on a day to day basis, and hopefully inspire the beginnings of beautiful friendships among the citizens of Asgard.

... Or something like that. Oi, Meat! I don't want to do this anymore. Explain for me.
[ puts her hands behind her head and her feet on the table ]

Don't talk to me directly while you're wearing that! This one person already thinks I approve of things like that! From now on you have to say "That damned Yozora says..." before I respond! [ but she already responded ] I'm going to have to repeat everything you said because I'm sure no one was able to hear it because of their horror!

[ as if to try to counteract the horror sena's saying everything with an overly bright smile ]

Attention, Neighbors Club! To make use of Kodaka's winnings from Asgard's last atrocious contest that the superior me was able to avoid participating in unlike the other pitiful people who shall remain unnamed, we're holding an event open to club members and lowborns alike. It is, of course, aligned with our club's mission and vision. Through this activity, we aim to improve our abilities in fostering teamwork and camaraderie among people we don't agree with me with on a day to day basis, and hopefully inspire the beginnings of beautiful friendships among the female citizens of Asgard!

Thanks to the advice given to me by the athletic Saki-chan, I realized that the bonds of friendship can often be forged through teamwork and trial by fire! Which is why for our next club activity we'll be having a paintball game!
[ the gleam in her eye could be interpreted as an excitement. but to be more accurate it is the gleam of a bloodthirsty cheating cheater playerkilling levelgrinding cheater. ] But because it wouldn't be fair to you to have to be pitted against me, we're going to make things interesting! Instead of a more usual paintball game, we'll be having two kinds of games! One will be to emphasize the importance of teamwork: having to work together to protect one person on your team!

As for the other game! Zombies are really fashionable right now... I'd let the cute Eucliwood-chan turn me into a zombie...
[ get a grip! ] The second battle will be with a zombie apocalypse theme! Players will fight to survive until the end of the first round! The people who were taken out will become zombies attacking the people who survived the first round!

...Or something like that. Hey Kodaka! I just realized, some of the people here might not even know what paintball is so explain it to them!

[ he sighs, face palming at the embarrassing comments Yozora and Sena are making. He's behind both girls when they speak. ] You know, it's not like I knew there was a contest going on and I was the only one in my house hugging people.

[ but oh right, explaining things. he looks like he's taking this seriously thinking about this. ] Well, paintball is sort of like a game of tag. To tag someone, you use the paintball gun full of paint pellets, err, paint bullets instead of your hand. [ why must he be the one to explain he is so awkward turtle!! Usually there are teams, so teamwork is important in order to create a strategy to beat the other team. A person is considered out if they get hit with a paintball in this case. When you're out, you have to sit on the sidelines for the normal rounds.

[ he raises a finger ] Try to not shoot anyone in the face as that won't count and hurt the other person a good amount. [ just in case anyone was getting the idea to. ] This is a game, after all, but if anything does happen we have some healers here from Sigyn who'd probably help you out. Bruises are probably going to happen if you get shot at close range.

[ he rubs his chin... yes, that is most of it. ] We'll have two rounds. One will be normal and one will be considered the "Zombie Game." During the zombie game, it'll be harder for the non-zombies to win, but whoever wins it will be considered Asgard's first paintball champion.

[ pauses, looking around. ] I guess if you have anymore questions, we'll try to answer them. This event will take place on [insert day 100 ic date, Gefion park, and the exact time.].

[ The feed goes back to Yozora the Horseface. ] That is all!

(ooc announcement here!)

[Much like the two previous times he's addressed the network at large, Vyse is grinning from ear to ear, leaning in close to the bracelet.]

I know a lot of you are from worlds where you've got water between all your countries, so your ships sail on water! But where I'm from, we've got airships! Ships that sail on water are just weird.

So how many of you had the same thing? Do you think airships are normal? Or you've never seen them before?

It's something I've been wondering. [...And besides, he was practically dared to find someone who thinks it's normal! And if there's one thing he doesn't do, it's back down!! --Subtlety, what subtlety?

Circle Y or N, Asgard.]

[after a while of trying to make sense of what the maid that welcomed him explained to him, Castor finally decides to get his bracelet to work & after... another while of trying to get that to work, he finally managed to get the video to work.... though he doesn't seem to realize it's working. he heard a sound but.. that's it]

Ah... was that it? Does it work? Hello? [he's not used to such technology so the lack of response troubles him. there's a concerned frown on his face] Perhaps I should just try.. maybe someone will hear me.

[he straightens himself up, coughing slightly before opening his mouth to speak]

My name is Castor. I am a knight of Arcadia, which.... I am not... in anymore. [a frown, but he quickly recovers with a small, friendly smile] This situation is ah, quite new to me & I am not sure exactly what is going on so I would like to ask for some assistance.

[there's a brief pause. woops looks like he finally realized how this 'video' thing works!]

O-Oh, um... yes well. I am s-still not used to this, er... this bracelet. I'm not sure how it works, yet. Perhaps someone can provide an explanation to me. [he sighs]

Oh, yes! I would also like to ask— [video cuts off! maybe he accidentally did something?]

Good morning, Asgard!

You're in for a treat today~ The best baker you have (me) is going to be walking around the city with a basket of goodies. It's first come first serve, and all you have to do is say 'Marui-sama is the best' to get one of what's in the basket.

So, if you find me... you know what to say!

[Would anyone like a muffin? No, really. They're blueberry, apple cinnamon, or raisin flavored. Marui's not kidding when he says he'll be everywhere, so grab one while you can!]

[Ramirez isn't much for video posts, or really anything related to the subject of social interaction. He prefers to stay in the background, gather his information from a more passive standpoint.

This, however, is a special occasion, and the video feed clicks on to show a very young-looking boy with a very well-honed sense of anger about him, if that angry frown on his face has anything to say about it. He almost seems to be trying to set the bracelet on fire by the sheer force of his glare.

He's not particularly expecting any actual answers beyond yet another trick of the gods, but damn it, he's pissed.]

Someone better have an explanation.

[...It sounds much less intimidating when the voice in question is not a deep bass baritone but rather the high, androgynous voice of a boy who has not quite reached puberty yet.]

[A rather flustered and, in some cases, slightly familiar girl shows up on the screen! She seems to be in a mild panic, really.]

S-something weird is happening! I'm a lot taller now, a-and... Umm...

I think... I think I might have gotten older!

[That so, Hibiki. Then again, even as a teenager she isn't especially tall...]

[Action]

[People out and about may see a girl tripping, stumbling, and occasionally faceplanting nearby. In some cases, she might even be falling right into you! She was never very coordinated, and the change in height isn't doing her any favors.]

-Wah!
