Aether Brandier

[ Aether isn't usually the kind to post on the network. Talking to others and offering help is one thing, but putting himself out there feels like being given too much attention. Attention is something he's never been very good at handling; he would try to avoid it this time, as well, but the events of the last month made him wonder.

It's best to get any doubts out of the way before they start interfering with his duties. ]

I've heard plenty of people question the gods who brought us here, the purpose we were given and the way we are supposed to fulfill it. It's understandable. Nobody wants to fulfill a role they didn't audition for. In my case, though, my concern is that the role I was given is terribly miscast.

[ This is when the video feed comes on. Aether - a man in his mid-twenties with cerulean hair and eyes - raises a sheathed sword to show the camera. ]

When I arrived, they told me I belong in Sygin; the house of healers and those who aid others. But the only thing I truly excel at is... [ He unsheathes the sword by only a couple inches, revealing a thin blade that suspiciously lacks a sharpened edge. ] ...this. I've been trying to find another duty for this house, but there's little I can come up with.

So... what gives?

...Looks like the natives're getting restless.

[It's an odd thing to open a conversation with, and unfortunately Vanitas isn't going to fully explain what he means. After a small pause, though, his voice picks back up.]

So, question. How do we know they're not all flipped-out crazy, and that by 'bringing life back' to this place, we aren't just waking them all up?

Lastly, where can I get small grubs? [This last part's said slightly begrudgingly, 'cause he knows a certain someone might be listening.]

So, as fun as the dorm experience has been, it's probably long past time I find a job and relocate to somewhere where I get my own bathroom.

Most of my real world experience tends to be on the side of reality tv and news shows. Which seems to be a bit of a problem without any broadcasting stations. I could always write, but my reports tend to lose something in the editing process.

Which could've just been the asshole editor I worked with, but who knows.

Anyway, work rambling aside, I'm too old to be living like I did in college.

[The arrival and her move into her new house was all so overwhelming that Jade had completely forgotten about her ability to communicate with the other people in this world. Silly! That should have been the first thing she'd done. After all, she had no idea where to even begin helping out.]

Hello Asgard!

Um, thanks for having me! My name is Jade Harley and they've put me in Odin house, which I guess is for scholars and stuff. I guess it's because all of that nuclear physics research I did. Uuugh, I don't think I managed to bring any of my notes though. But anyway, hi to all of my new housemates! I'm really excited to meet you all! I've never lived with so many people before, it's pretty cool hehe.

Buuuuut, we're supposed to be helping out this city, right? I'm definitely going to do my best to help. So if there's anything I gotta do, please let me know!

Especially because I do kind of have to eventually get back home! I have a really important meeting to make and I'm pretty sure it's rude to be late. Hehehe woof!, I'll definitely get an earful anyway and if I'm late he'll never shut up about it! Oh well.

Oh and finally, I have a really super important question! Does anyone else like the show Squiddles?

((ooc; sorry for lateness of the intro, life ate me. also here is the link to her text permissions again!)

( Action | Sigyn House )

[Well, something's definitely not right. In fact, something's very wrong here. Very wrong indeed.

Anyone who resides at the Sigyn house might feel a slight disturbance in the Force air. The structure itself may even literally shake a little as huge booted feet storm up the walkway and onto the porch, although... as soon as Snow gets there, he halts in his stride, simply pulling open the door and entering. He's been there before, after all, it's not like he's new to the place. He doesn't need to be an intruder, even with his heart pounding the way it is.

You see, he's lost something very important to him. Something that was once in this house. And he's not going to believe it until he's questioned every person in his path, left no stone un-turned... you get the point.

( Video | Later that evening... )

[Once Snow's recording starts, there's the glimpse of a bed beneath him, a few haphazard things scattered on the floor. Obviously, it's his bedroom. And he's slumped a little, gloved fingers idly toying with something shining and translucent he's holding in the opposite hand.]

Hey.

[He's not looking at the camera at all, gaze focused instead on that very bauble he's holding onto. The thing's cupped in his big hands like it's something fragile and living that could be easily broken to pieces in his strong grasp, or snuffed out, like a flame.]

Just thought I'd let you guys know. I dunno when she left or where she's gonna go now, but Serah's gone.

[And he leaves it at that, reaching to click off the feed, not once meeting the video with his eyes.]
