[Watson finishes packing his pipe with tobacco before lighting it. He takes a moment to breathe in the smoke, steadying himself before continuing his address to the network. He doesn't look visibly different to normal, though there is a tension in his posture that is apparent even over the network feed. He looks up at the feed and just as quickly looks away with a brief grimace.]
Clearly when I was telling Lancelot I had not once returned home during my sojourn here, I should have said 'yet.' Perhaps I would have fared better had I knocked on wood? Not that I'm complaining, no, no. Married life agrees. Though--
[Watson's hand goes unthinkingly to the pocket of his coat. There's a small cylinder there, though it is hard to make out what exactly it is and the moment he realizes he is touching it, Watson deliberately shrugs the coat back so the pocket and its contents are no longer in view.]
I suppose it is enough to say that much has transpired during my return. On that note, I would be greatly obliged if any would care to let me know how long I've been gone and what has happened in the city during my absence.
... I should be particularly grateful for any news of my colleague. [God, please still be here, Holmes.]
