i. ♛ video ( 394 )
[ The backdrop is only the wall of her room in House Hel and in place of a missing crown her hair is braided back from her face. ]
I am Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen. I traveled with many of you to the front at Alfheim, though this world remembers my face from a time now lost to me. If we once had dealings in the past I would speak with you of them.
[ Better than bumping into each and every person one at a time, as she's been doing for over a week now. A beat, and she continues. ]
Among you are men and women that claim the Seven Kingdoms their home, to whom my family name and titles are more familiar. Whether you hail from Westeros or the Free Cities and beyond - I make only two simple requests. [ Many of them have already come forward, but there is at least one false name that doesn't match up and one Kingslayer that hasn't shown his face. ] To friends, I ask that you tell me of your time in Asgard. [ Her back and shoulders remain straight, her gaze hardening just a fraction. ] To all others, [ oathbreakers and pretenders alike ] convince me that our cause in this world is truly a common one.
[ And that no blood needs to be spilled on these foreign streets. Their feuds can resume back home where they can be settled and not forgotten.
Or just stay out of her way. Khaleesi out. ]

[This is a country whose name is familiar to him!]
Whom do you consider friends and whom do you consider 'others'? We are all forced to work together here otherwise... it is said the very worlds we come from would be destroyed. They all might be allies now?

It's said that all the traveler's worlds are connected to this one; if this world dies, so would yours. However, those are words from the gods. If you wish to believe them or not, it's something for you to decide by yourself.

I may not remember you from before - but at Alfheim you were with the healers, correct? [ He looks familiar, the grey hair and red eyes stand out even if they never spoke. ]

Here's to the direct approach.
We already talked when you arrived here*, but for a run down, we went on a camping trip with some of the other visitors here. You didn't drink the tea they served and I did-it wasn't poison, but it had me hallucinate of a hawk flying around.
We also discussed you possibly enrolling in the school here and I helped you shop around for a small pistol.
[She thinks a moment.]

A pistol? [ Start with that, we'll eventually get to the hallucinations. ]

These giants have proven themselves a greater evil, that much I have seen for myself. [ It would be difficult not to after her time in the tents. She lets out a breath. ] The rest - for now I can only judge by the records and the words of others. [ A beat. ] How long have you been kept in this city?

The Kingdoms are not about us now, and their quarrels are nothing that I've wish to import. I would sooner be alone here.
Believe what you will. I've little desire to convince you, and less to ever speak of this in person.

This response, however, has her taken aback. The reply takes a minute or two longer than the others, for her to calm herself and not say something in public that she might regret. ]
Is it only under your own name that you are so reluctant to speak of the past? Shall I call you Jothos Hill instead?
[ He spoke of her mother, gave respect to her proper titles, flattered her while she tended to his wounds. Would she have put a scalpel in his throat if she had known at the time? She would surely do it now. ]

But we have little choice in it. And so we fight, with the gifts we have been given, for a chance to go home.
Or to simply survive.
[Loras, well. Sometimes it is a struggle for him, here. A mix of emotions, with no true allies from home. Targaryen, Tyrell--the Houses were once close. But with his sister on the throne, now, Daenerys was a direct threat to his sister.
A sister who was not here. And he did not believe that she was as mad as other Targs.
Yet. So speaking in peace, is welcome.]

[ Not that she trusts him any more than before, but she has to start somewhere.
She quickly sends another message, this one made private; ]
I have seen Stiles Stilinski's creature. More kitten than dragon, the flame it breathes barely comparable to the same gift given to Travelers. [ She wrinkles her nose. If Loras wants to continue bickering with the boy, that's up to him, but the dragon is no threat to the city in her eyes. ]

[ Doubts have insistently accrued in number and intensity since her arrival, but it's only recently culminated in the realization that even written works could prove to be duplicitous. With the influx of contradicting information, working out a rationale had to mean more than blindly acquiescing to clearly biased factions at face-value. ]
How can we know anything for certain here? Records can be forged, personal accounts can be altered. It's a matter of perspective. Given the circumstances, there's no reliable standard for truth here, so we have to rely on our own beliefs.
We were chosen for one sole reason, but that doesn't mean we're united by this cause. As far as convincing you of anything goes, I believe you're more than capable of coming to a conclusion on your own.

That you do not bend knee to the Usurper's son, to start. [ And for it to be true. Enemy of my enemy, even that's not enough to trust. Winter is upon them and the dogs are tearing each other apart for the meat in Westeros. ] Across the narrow sea the news has spread that it was Eddard Stark poisoned the false king. [ Or his wife, or skewered by a great beast of a boar, but that's not the reaction she needs to see. ]

But hey, there's still what we've seen with our own eyes. If we can't go home, we might as well do something.

L-Lady Daenerys... I... I cannot believe me eyes... Your name and your House are indeed familiar to me. [Your dad killed her grandfather and her Uncle Brandon. And apparently your brother kidnapped her aunt.]
Many stories about you have reached King's Landing... Is it true you have dragons?
