So, they say that you can judge people by what they like, right? I mean, if you like reading big long tedious books in your spare time, people will tend to think that you're big long and tedious when it comes to conversations. Or, if you like action movies and things with large explosions in them, people might think you're an adrenaline junkie and more likely to jump into a reckless situation. Or if you like really trashy romance novels, you don't actually have a life and stay at home all day because nobody will ever go out with you. Stuff like that, you get the idea.

So, I thought, why not ask people what they think about a certain thing I actually know a little bit about?

Insects.

[Yes, he's being serious. Nick gives the camera a level look.]

Tell me what insects you like, and I'll then judge what kind of person you are based on that. Yes, I'll count spiders in with that one. And if you don't like bugs all that much, you can just tell me which ones you don't like, and I'll judge that too. Think of this as a survey, of sorts.

If you have no idea what insects are, then I wonder what in the name of Sam Hill is going on with your world, because it must be the apocalypse over there or everything is messed up, that's all I can say.

The fact that you like butterflies is a good thing. Ladybugs are a bit less exciting, but they're dependable little critters, eating all the bad aphids and such, so...yeah.

Well, most people. They're meant for mental escape and all, so the people reading them are basically looking for an easy way out of their humdrum existence.

I mean, not that that's bad, because that's what books do. It's the fact that the quality of most of them is atrocious.

Alright, why not. I can't say there are many that have really stuck out as insects I like, but I'll admit curiosity as to what you make of disliking spiders.

Spiders are pretty much built like something that shouldn't exist in any normal place- too many eyes, too many legs. Most insects are downright nice-looking compared to them, so it's honestly pretty normal you don't like spiders, because they tend to creep out people more than most. Though, you're probably more afraid of their appearance than anything, which suggests that you don't look past that to see that most of those things are pretty useful, when you get down to it. Getting rid of most insects and all... You see the thing as it appears to be, you don't see what they do.

Though, honestly, I don't like spiders either. There's something...vicious about them. I'll squash a spider any day, but still, our world would be overflowing with bugs if they didn't exist, so at least they serve some sort of purpose.

You're a dreamy sort of person, aren't you? I mean, liking those two insects pretty much just spells out you're the type to daydream about things and get lost in your own thoughts all the time.

I like crickets, moths and bees. I dislike hornets and ticks.

Ticks are bloodsuckers and generally exist to latch onto people and suck them dry, so you probably aren't the type of person who can grin and bear it when you have a problem on your hands- once you discover one, people pretty much freak out and try to get it off and see it as a general nuisance. I'm surprised you didn't put up mosquitoes there, people usually pair the two...hornets kind of deserve the hate, though, they're angry little stinging machines which want nothing but to hate everyone they come across, so perhaps that means you don't really want to stay around people who are pretty much like that in case you'll get hurt.

Crickets make nice little music, so I'm assuming you like their sound more than the actual bugs. Moths aren't too bad, I'll give you that, though overall they're pretty useless. Bees are little hardworking things, though their stings are - you knowing that and you still liking them may mean you can still like things despite their bad sides.

But I don't know. I'm just saying what I think. You could just like bees because your favorite colors are yellow and black, how should I know?

Cricket song is pretty and serene - One of the few natural sounds I grew up hearing. But the bugs themselves are actually kind of cute, with the way they jump and those long antennae. Sort of like little rabbits. I'd see a lot of Moths in the city, flying around the bright signs or outside lights after dark. Their presence always added something to evening walks around the city. As for bees, I think their social structure is so interesting - the way they set themselves up with a hierarchy that works together in such perfect synch is pretty amazing to me. Besides, even if they sting, that's only in self defense - if you're kind to them, they have no reason to harm you. And it's better not to make them sting you anyway, being they die afterward.

I didn't say mosquitoes because I rarely had to deal with them, but I'd heard a lot about ticks and lice so they were formost in my mind. As for hornets, I've been stung by them before and really didn't enjoy the experience, though, at least I know I'm not allergic.

As if. Let's just say I'm...a connoisseur. In a way. No, before you ask, I don't eat them, I just know a whole lot about them.

You hating the dragonfly and cricket makes it seem like you're a bit more serious- though not in the "everything isn't fun" way, more like you don't have time to indulge in incredibly romantic and dreamy things.

Ants in general are hard workers, but a bit on the boring side- people often like them because their order and structure is so much like human society. Bullet ants, on the other hand, are vicious little beasts- their sting is the most painful out of all the ants in the world. So, perhaps you got a little bit of a vicious side to you, if you like a creature like that. Moths are nighttime creatures, though more harmless than the previous...either way, moths aren't a bad choice, because you could've gone and said butterfly, but maybe there's something about the plainness of moths you like. I don't know.
