[Here's a face some have seen before. Given a technical device, could it be in doubt that he wouldn't turn it on almost immediately? Of course not. He's got to see how it works, what it can do. Instructions? HA! Half Time Lord. Instructions are for lesser beings! This is probably why the first shot turns into a three hundred and sixty degree shot of everything no one wants to see (such as Theta's purple trainers and the zip of his Nine-ish leather jacket). Yeah. Those instructions were probably made for a person like him.]

[Good thing that at least Loki's guide plays automatically. Weird. Should it be recording if it were being turned on for the first time?]

There are pink clouds around the 'hooray'.

[This is said in the same tone one might say 'There was a horrible accident down the street with body parts everywhere'.]

By Loki? That's my god! Brilliant! Torchwood could use one of these. I think I know a Loki. There was alcohol involved. Can't remember much after that.

[The camera finally spins back to his face. There's a better than average chance Theta knows exactly what he's doing with his false bumbling about with the thing.]

Hello Asgard! If you see someone like me, tell him that Theta Sigma is looking for him! The look on his face will be worth it. Unless he's listening. If he is, hello Doctor! It's been two months! What have you blown up? Hello everyone else! It's good to meet you! That grey really is horrid, isn't it?

[It would appear this was not a decaf coffee morning before arrival.]

[Oh. Oh. That is certainly a face she wasn't expecting to see. Instantly the TARDIS knows who this is, and more importantly, who it isn't. She hasn't exactly changed since the day she arrived - not in appearance anyway as she sees no need to get rid of her raggedy dress. So she probably doesn't look at that put together.]

The universe, though that wasn't exactly his fault and a bit more mine. He put it right.

[ Now here's something new for Theta; the Doctor's looking pretty sick. He's not in bed at the moment, because he refuses to lie around the whole day just because he's sick.

This definitely isn't Ten because he would never put on the leather jacket again, so it has to be... Great. That name. It's definitely him. Great.

He sniffles. ]

Been a little longer than two months for me. Or a lot longer. Try a few hundred years. Blew up the universe, if you have to know, but then I fixed it, obviously, so there's nothing to worry about.

[Theta moves a little closer to the screen as if that would suddenly give him a better view.]

You look sick. That's probably why I'm here. Shouldn't you be in bed? You can't go walking about. Who knows what sort of virus could mutate in you. That's just careless. [A slow headshake as if he expected the Doctor to be in this sort of state without him. He didn't, but it's good for show.]

Blew it up. Fixed it. Sounds about right.

[For a split second- her heart is in her throat. He was here, her Doctor, after only having broken down to his future self just days prior.

And then, all at once, it settled again. It .. wasn't. It was someone with his face, something oddly like his fashion sense, his voice, his eyes, his everything. Calling himself Theta Sigma? Not a name she recognized. But he obviously knew the Doctor, knew he was a look a like.

... Could this be the Metacrisis?]

[A benediction, a curse on his lips. It hasn't been a long time since he's seen his Rose, a few hours ago at best. The smile he manages is crooked but there. With the Doctor and TARDIS so changed, he can't hope this is his Rose.]

So I see. How have you been?

[A quiet and kind voice but a friend's, nothing more.]

It was roundabout two months last I saw the Doctor. If things are going wrong and people are being hurt, then I'm sure he's here somewhere! We usually are.

Sometimes! It's not as if going and starting a war is going to have him pop in, but the grey thing is odd enough.
