[Here's a face some have seen before. Given a technical device, could it be in doubt that he wouldn't turn it on almost immediately? Of course not. He's got to see how it works, what it can do. Instructions? HA! Half Time Lord. Instructions are for lesser beings! This is probably why the first shot turns into a three hundred and sixty degree shot of everything no one wants to see (such as Theta's purple trainers and the zip of his Nine-ish leather jacket). Yeah. Those instructions were probably made for a person like him.]

[Good thing that at least Loki's guide plays automatically. Weird. Should it be recording if it were being turned on for the first time?]

There are pink clouds around the 'hooray'.

[This is said in the same tone one might say 'There was a horrible accident down the street with body parts everywhere'.]

By Loki? That's my god! Brilliant! Torchwood could use one of these. I think I know a Loki. There was alcohol involved. Can't remember much after that.

[The camera finally spins back to his face. There's a better than average chance Theta knows exactly what he's doing with his false bumbling about with the thing.]

Hello Asgard! If you see someone like me, tell him that Theta Sigma is looking for him! The look on his face will be worth it. Unless he's listening. If he is, hello Doctor! It's been two months! What have you blown up? Hello everyone else! It's good to meet you! That grey really is horrid, isn't it?

[It would appear this was not a decaf coffee morning before arrival.]

[She glances away for a moment, as if trying to decide how much she should say]

If you travel with the Doctor long enough, you hear bits and pieces. Rumors. Stories.

[Not to mention it was relevant information, considering she was sort of one of a kind back in her original universe]

He never gave me the whole story of course. You know how he can be...

[He may not be the Doctor, but it's Ten's thoughtful and judging eyes that stay on her, track that motion. River was the enigma he didn't get to solve. Might be time to question the Doctor on that one.]

You do! He's a lot like that. I bet if you sit him down, he'll tell you the whole story. If anyone can get it, I bet you can.

[She had to know their real name somehow. Even with her, he isn't about to say things the Doctor might not want known.]

Where do all of you live? I'm in Loki's House. Are you all there?

He's always been touchy about certain past companions....

[Namely Rose and Donna. She purposely avoided directly questioning him about those two]

Odin district. Myself, the Doctor, Rory, Oswin, and the TARDIS. We used to have Amy....

[There might have been a note of sadness in her voice just then. Losing her mother had been hard]

Has he? I would hope he didn't consider me a Companion.

[Companion? HA. Doctor level here. His mind doesn't go immediately to Donna or Rose, them following second. He's wondered what, if anything, had been mentioned or told now that Rose was here. Now that Ten and Eleven had crashed into each other.]

So I'm the only one in Loki?

[Only he can sound disappointed and thrilled at the same time. If that sadness is caught, he lets it go without questioning further.]

I heard she had left.

[Without questioning it deeply. It is a passing comment. If she explains more, it isn't as if he asked and the Doctor (or someone else) could say he was being nosy.]

No, but your creation involved Donna.

[She drops her hands to her hips and raises a brow at him]

I think so. I ended up in Freya. We moved out of each other's districts into a larger house to accommodate all of us.

[The loss of her mother was still weighing heavily on River Song, especially considering she'd just lost both her parents before arriving here]

Eleven is still recovering from losing Amy.

It did, yes. Donna is the other half.

[He should be used to River knowing things no one else does. This doesn't stop the challenging look that comes to his own face, arms crossed and brow arched. That grin tends to kill that challenge's seriousness some. Wait until he finds out she and the Doctor are married.]

A TARDIS that isn't a TARDIS then with you all together.

[He doesn't know her story yet either. He will shortly from the TARDIS, but not yet and now who Amy was beyond a beloved Companion.]

I've heard. She must have been quite the woman. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet her.

[Shouldn't take too long to figure out they're married. They act like such an old married coupled together]

She was a remarkable woman, that much is for certain. Oh you met the TARDIS then? She came along fairly recently. Likes to be called Sexy.

[The Doctor finally did tell him. That's still about twenty-four hours off. He's suspecting it by this point.]

Sexy?

[Cue sputter. That's one of those names that was between him, er the Doctor, and the TARDIS! Not one for the public! Huff.]

Well. I didn't know that. Hmph.

Mmhmm....

[River was so used to it by now she didn't even so much as lift a brow, although she did chuckle at his reaction]

It's what she wants to be called. By the Doctor of course.

We're not going to talk about this. Never ever again. No.

[Theta is a little mortified at the whole idea of everyone calling hi- the Doctor's TARDIS that so casually. That was their special name!]

There's quite a few of us here then. What could stand against us all? We'll have things running right little by little soon enough.

[Yep, there's Ten's enthusiasm. It dims by the end, thoughtful instead.]

I'm sorry about the loss of Amy, River. I can tell she was important to all of you that I've spoken to. Maybe she'll return.

[He has no idea who 'Amy' is, but every person that has told him about her has done so with various degrees of love and sorrow.]

[She does arch a brow when he tells her never to mention calling the TARDIS 'Sexy'. In fact, she arches both brows. Bless him, he didn't know her very well at this point if he thought she'd follow instructions]

That's what I thought when I arrived, but it's really all up to the Gods at this point.

[She goes quiet for a few dreadfully silent moments when he mentions Amy again. That sadness he might have seen once before returned again]

She was my mother. Although she didn't know it at the time....

Gods Smods. Although if I had to have a god helping me, Loki is a good choice. He has a sense of humour. Least I think he did. Ale is a bad thing to drink too much of.

[When she grows quiet, he does as well. When he speaks, there's a tone of quiet sadness. Not an empathic creature by nature (no more than Ten was) he is sorry for the hurt in her voice.]

I'm sorry, so sorry, River. I didn't know. Maybe she's gone home! Or to a better place! Here is never just here. Right?

She'll go home to have more adventures and eventually, she'll have me. I just wish I'd told her who I really was before she left.

[But at least she'd gotten more time with Amy]

Would it have helped or hurt though for her to know? That's a rather large, er, spoiler if you don't mind me using your word there.

[Her end is, of course, on his mind. He would not more speak of that than he would cut his own tongue out willingly. Some things just aren't meant to be known by humans with their linear lives.]

If she knew you cared, isn't that enough?

I'm not sure she would have believed me. I mean....look at me.

[Even if he hadn't met Amy, River did look quite a bit older then her mother]

One of the curses of being so topsy turvy time-wise, seeing my own mother and not being able to reveal myself to her.

I've never met this Amy person. What should I be seeing?

[Theta is just the artless sort with things like that to point it out.]

Not a curse. Think of it as one of those intricate things that make dealing with others all the more interesting!

[Yep, about as empathic as a brick. Or trying to get her to see a bright side to a dark subject.]

She looks a bit younger then I do. Her early thirties? Late twenties....

[And River has the image of a much more mature woman. Yes, mature. There's no other way to say it without earning a slap]

It's easy for you to say that.

I suppose it is, yes. I'm a hand. I never had these complications, but you are humans. Comes with the territory.
