[Here's a face some have seen before. Given a technical device, could it be in doubt that he wouldn't turn it on almost immediately? Of course not. He's got to see how it works, what it can do. Instructions? HA! Half Time Lord. Instructions are for lesser beings! This is probably why the first shot turns into a three hundred and sixty degree shot of everything no one wants to see (such as Theta's purple trainers and the zip of his Nine-ish leather jacket). Yeah. Those instructions were probably made for a person like him.]

[Good thing that at least Loki's guide plays automatically. Weird. Should it be recording if it were being turned on for the first time?]

There are pink clouds around the 'hooray'.

[This is said in the same tone one might say 'There was a horrible accident down the street with body parts everywhere'.]

By Loki? That's my god! Brilliant! Torchwood could use one of these. I think I know a Loki. There was alcohol involved. Can't remember much after that.

[The camera finally spins back to his face. There's a better than average chance Theta knows exactly what he's doing with his false bumbling about with the thing.]

Hello Asgard! If you see someone like me, tell him that Theta Sigma is looking for him! The look on his face will be worth it. Unless he's listening. If he is, hello Doctor! It's been two months! What have you blown up? Hello everyone else! It's good to meet you! That grey really is horrid, isn't it?

[It would appear this was not a decaf coffee morning before arrival.]

That poor excuse for a guide, yes. [There's a flash of left over anger from her conversation with the gods in that.]

Where else would I be but with him? Of course he's alright.

[Which she can't hide the truth from him on that one, but it's not something she wants to talk about over a public feed.]

[That anger is enough to make Theta not ask lots of questions. Except one.]

It's not that bad of a guide.

[Gotta stand up for his god, and Theta is sure the Doctor had him as a drinking partner one night. Maybe it was another Loki.]

Glad to know. You've never left us.

[A quirked brow is all the sign he gives that he's not buying that. At all.]

[She is certainly not impressed by Thor or Odin so...]

Not bad if you don't have one of the gods shove it at you as a bandaid to having questions answered.

[Seeing as how she hasn't spoken to Loki yet, the TARDIS will not be too angry at him.]

There's a bar in Loki's district, meet me outside of it.

[Then she can answer as many questions as she can.]

[Theta can't wait to meet them.]

Don't like questions, do they? Not too unusual.

[Other people's children these days. Did anyone really want to let Theta loose on unsuspecting gods?]

I'll be there! I knew there had to be one around here somewhere.

[If someone didn't know him, that smile might seem pleasant and happy. It's the eyes that would make it out to be a lie. They're too watchful, too much the Doctor's.]

[He can have all the fun in that.]

Not particularly. At least that's what I gathered from my conversation with them.

[Yes, at least he might be cheerful as compared to the TARDIS' anger.]

Considering these are the Norse gods of our universe, there should be quite a few.

[And she does know him, knows him better than anyone. Though she doesn't say anything at the moment and instead leaves her room in Freya to start the trek over to Loki's district. She probably arrives after him (unless he managed to get distracted somewhere along the way).]

[That would unsettle Theta some if it were anyone else. He's used to being the unknown quantity, a thing no one can fully define. With the help of the map, he found the bar at least after a few tries. Interesting things kept flitting across his path! He beats her there by a full fifteen seconds and is getting settled when he spots her. A hand lifts to wave, the hand that used to be the Doctor's.]

A TARDIS in a human body.

[He hasn't fully asorbed that fact yet.]

[Stopping a good distance away she looks down at herself - the tattered blue-green dress, the brown boots, the off-white stockings and her ungracefully arranged hair. Then she looks up at him.]

Is it bad?

[The appearance of her human form had not been something she'd been concerned over. She hadn't been able to choose her human vessel and getting new clothes hadn't been something she'd thought about.]

[He turns to face her, more out of watching the door than seeing her. The gods robbed them all in that respect. His face lights up when his eyes settle on her, sliding off his chair and coming towards her with arms open. He's a hugger. Fair warning.]

You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. That I will ever see. I've missed you.

[The TARDIS. Her songs. Home. All that he lost that wasn't the Doctor.]

[She doesn't stop his approach, in fact, the TARDIS leans into his hug nearly instantly. Breathing deep the leather that was so like Nine and hugging tight the skinniness that was Ten and the man that had a bit of Donna in him. Oh this is was something she's needed. All of the emotional roller coaster that the last two weeks have been just seem to slide away and it's just him and her. A box and her boy. The one she left behind on that beach hundreds of years ago.]

I've missed you.

[The honest truth. She missed his presence in her console room, missed singing songs to him, missed having him in the universe.]

[He might be tall and twiggy, but Theta can hug just like Ten. Those thin arms pull her towards him, enfolding her in them as if he could keep all the bad things at bay just like that.]

Shhh. It's all right. I'm here now. I've got you.

[A kiss is pressed to the top of her head, fingers trailing through her hair kindly.]

Whatever is wrong, it'll be fine. You are not alone.

[The Face of Boe's words repeated, ones meant to comfort now.]

[If only, if only. There was so many things that were wrong - with this world, with the companions, with the Doctor himself and the TARDIS too. She wanted him to sweep in and make everything better. Right now it was enough to hug him, a man she would never get to outside of this world, one who was partially the tenth Doctor. Still if anyone could fix things it would be the Doctor and his right hand man.]

Everything is always alright.

[A phrase she's learned from the Doctor - a lie to cover up how much it hurts and one she's had to use so many times lately.]

Not always.

[He's been infected with humanity enough to understand that. It makes his arms draw tighter around her briefly before loosening.]

But it will be. What's happened?

[The question accompanies a loosening of his arms but not a release. Any comfort a poor copy of the Doctor can give to her is there.]

I have you. I'm here. What's gone wrong?

[Because the Doctor. What couldn't have gone wrong?]

[It's a lie she's telling to herself then, one she wants to become real so very much. As he loosens his grip the TARDIS shifts to his side, taking his hand in hers and leading him away from the bar. A chance to talk and look around at the same time.]

They've hurt him, hurt the ones he cares about. They've made him angry, those so-called gods. He ran. Didn't tell anyone but me and he's a little better now but still...

[To make him angry was a bit easier these days but it was not a good thing.]

[Theta himself could very easily be the one in the wrong. He's just arrived and taking on a lot of information. Running fast enough to catch up with a spinning world has left him a little rushed. It's easy enough to follow her, fingers curling about her own. A human TARDIS. A regenerated Doctor. The ideas still make his mind stutter a little.]

He's not in control. [Quietly said, guarded as he is with all the Doctor's secrets. His secrets as well in a way.] What did they do to him and - Rose is here so are they Companions? Friends?

[Theta doesn't question the running. Of course he ran. Theta would have been more alarmed if he stood in place.]

[She's very well aware that the whole idea makes the whole world tilt out from under one's feet upon arrival here. That seeing Eleven's face must be hard all by itself seeing as how Ten hadn't wanted to go in the end.]

He has new strays now. A husband and wife - not that they were that when we first whisked them away. [At least, that was how it was for the Doctor anyway. The TARDIS was further in the future then he was so the story is a little different for her.] Goldy is...a friend. She comes along sometimes.

[But she was also the past they'd left behind. It's not the running that has the TARDIS concerned. It's the anger.]

[Ten had feared regeneration, losing all that he was to some new person that was nothing like him. Theta shared that fear, that he was here with some stranger who only had the name 'the Doctor' and their shared memories.]

[But there was no time for that. What had gone wrong needed healed. Things were out of joint, and he felt it. His hand, the one that had been the Doctor's, reached across the space to take hers and give what limited comfort he could.]

Goldy. River? I've heard the names Rory, Oswin and Amy. Amy is the one that left from what they've said. We've lost people before. They can stay with us their entire lives but we can't ours. Did the gods take her away? Kill her?

[That anger would have worried Theta too. Confused him some.]

[It was never easy for her either, watching him die. It never mattered if he'd sacrificed a life to save someone (though those were always her favorite sort of deaths). Those were the last times she got to see him too, maybe not in the sense that no one else would get to but still. No new adventures, just the ones they'd already shared.

Normally she could do exactly what he needed when he needed it. But this time she had hands and words and no connection to him like she was supposed to. She hadn't known what to do or say, not even after seeing him suffer so many times.]

That's Curly, or Spoilers. Suppose it would be better to refer to her as Bad Wolf. [Seeing as how it couldn't spread like wildfire here.] The first and last of that list are his current. She was the first person he saw, Eleven's best friend.

[There's a bit of a pause at the question.]

They brought her here and then they took her away. Brought people here who've been long dead, twisted things they shouldn't have and he blames it all on them.

[To his credit, Theta stayed silent and let her say what she had to. His dark eyes watched her, nodding in a few places as he pieced together who she was speaking of. Rose was Goldy. River was Curly/Spoilers. Then there was Amy, the Companion who had been 'taken away'. The first of this regeneration's.]

Still a brooder then, is he?

[A stupid thought that sounded worse to Theta's ears when spoken. Which of them hadn't been? Even One had his moments. A small shake of his head signified what empathy he was capable of for the Doctor. Time was never ordered, never going in one path like a river. There were always a million off-shoot streams often with muddied waters and dips where one wasn't expecting them to be.]

That's why he ran away then as you said. Needed to be alone.

[With all that, his presence couldn't be helping. It was too late to take that back, to withdraw and let an already emotionally wounded Doctor heal.]

He blames them. Blames them like Nine did or like Five?

[Five might have blamed people for things but there was compassion there. Nine, fresh out of the Time Wars, went at it with real dislike or anger. The latter was the more disturbing option.]

A definite brooder.

[One day she will tell Theta about Rory and Amy's permanent departure and how the Doctor was sulking while parked on the clouds above London. About how he attempted to retire from saving the universe. But not today.]

Didn't want anyone to see him.

[Because he was never alone, he allowed the TARDIS to come along.]

Like Nine.

[She tried to talk him down to a Ten, at least. To give them another chance.]

Pride and angry like Nine.

[Theta sighs but ends it with a smile. A hand that had once been the Doctor's sought her own with a small squeeze. A scoot of his twiggy body brought him closer to her incase she needed someone to lean on.]

I'll talk to him then. See what I can do. Sometimes it makes it all different when there's someone who understands or can try to. Humans get caught up.

[His head dipped down a little, trying to get her to smile. Trying to lighten the load she had on her shoulders.]

We're not used to it, being someone else's plaything. Or warrior. Not since - well, not since then.

[Not since the Great Time War.]

And if that doesn't work, I'll do something else!

[Trust him. What could go wrong?]

[She doesn't need someone to lean on, but that doesn't mean she won't take the offer given to her. It's not as though she gets to do this everyday.]

It might help. He's already trying to pull himself back together and other people are certainly what he needs.

[There's no stopping the amusement on her face at his attempt to make her smile.]

There are certainly people out there who are trying at the moment though.

[The Doctor has the Silence on his tail.]

Of course you will.

[Trust him? Completely.]

[Okay, so it makes him feel better to lean on her a little, okay? Let him have his pride. Strong Doctorish sort, not running to his TARDIS because weirdness happened.]

He will. He's us. But I'll help however I can.

Then you can tell me everything I've missed. It's odd, being here. Like coming home for me.
