002 - [Video]/Action in Loki District if you wish

[samantha_grey]

[A video feed comes online. It looks like one of the dingiest, grayest and most forgotten parts of the Loki district. The only color is fading back into existence on the frame of Samantha Grey as she fiddles with her bracelet and gives it a thoughtful growl. She doesn't seem to completely notice that she's not wearing a cap right now, her horns visible.

Looking over to her right, the screen shifts just enough to give a view of a house guard in Hel colors. She nods to him before he departs and sighs.]

Thank you.

[There's a grunt and her hand reaches up to pull the cap she doesn't find there down. This makes her look even more annoyed, but ultimately it just gets another shrug. She sits heavily against the wall and looks around.]

So, I suppose this whole gray thing isn't complete bullshit, is it? Not exactly the brightest way to find out about that, I suppose. There really doesn't seem to be a way out of here, either, but I suppose most of you already knew that. Those bastards have us right where they want us, don't they? [She looks very briefly defeated, though her jaw firms quickly enough. She's not one to give up even in hopeless situations. This just requires a new tactic.]

As if death would grant me freedom from this crap. [She sighed and looked to the side before offering a grunt.] I think I might agree to that drink, but not at the damned Lux. It's nothing against its owner, no... no, it really is. I'm not drinking in a demon's den, and that's that. There's a bar here in Loki. You got any cash?

Yeah. Not going into why, but I tossed it in a trash can a few days ago, it seems. Big mistake. Not doing that again, trust me. And yes, yes I'm well aware that my little devil parts are showing. Screw it. I'll get another hat tomorrow. It's not like I'm going to be able to hide this that easy if I'm stuck here more than a week. People always seem to find out somehow, and I can still wear a hat most days anyway. I prefer it.

Well, I'm glad you were able to find it again. I've never tried it myself, but I can't imagine it would have been a pleasant experience. Do you remember much of anything?

Yeah, well, there IS that. Living around so many other people, I mean. Does make it a little hard to keep things a secret for too long. Hopefully you can find a new one you like. There's basic clothes in all new arrival's rooms, but I don't recall seeing a hat in mine. Could be different house to house, though.

[Lucifer, of course, doesn't know that this is the "Jasmine" that he spoke with earlier, but he's merely intrigued by the horns and a chance to be an ass.

He had been using the video function sparingly, since the large and leathery bat wings were something of a less than subtle giveaway, but he was cleaning up the cellar of Lux from the water damage still, and it's an easier option for the sake of continuing the cleanup. So in the background (other than the wings) are rows of wine racks, barrels and other assorted alcohols. And of course Lucifer has that brand of beauty that only angels have, but in his case it ends up giving him a more David Bowie look than anything...

Still, it takes away from the overall effect to see the (former) prince of hell with a mop.]

No, it's not. They told you that it was a sickness, and it wasn't an exaggeration. The bracelet is your vaccination. But at least in this case curiosity doesn't kill the cat, it just makes it lose its identity for a while.

[Oh, if the prince of all demons had a nickle for every time the sight of his supremely chiseled physique along with those wings caused someone to either swoon or jump in terror, he'd probably be a much richer man than he already was. Well, he got another nickle today. Samantha had not expected the Morningstar to contact 'Jasmine' unwittingly, and it was written all over her face that she recognized at least something about him by the way that her black slammed into the wall behind her and her tail shot up in the air. It went rigid, twitching at the tip a little while her pulse was barely visible in her throat.

She was terrified that he could see her, and there was no way for her to hide it from the shock.]

Shit. Yeah, it's like some malaria schmuck's quinine. I got that now, but the gray's a bitch and a half. No offense buddy, but demons and I don't get on too well, and you sort of reek of the infernal right now.

it's the first thing he notices when he spots the girl as he's passing through this part of the district on one of his daily sweeps. it's almost a nostalgic passing-- an alleyway. a girl. the pair of horns, too, but he notices them for a different reason entirely. it's so familiar in such an odd way that if he could feel sorrow, maybe he'd feel a tug of it somewhere over where his heart was. but only if.

he stops walking, and before he notices, he's staring. ]

[She's just seen and spoken to the archfiend of all archfiends, so she's understandably on edge and fumbling with her bracelet. She wasn't about to lose it again or throw it in the dumpster, but the temptation was still there. Part of her was still terrified of the thought Lucifer was in this city. Part of her was bothered by the fact that she couldn't get out of here. So, when she felt someone stopping, the grind of cobblestones taking in his pause, she looked up to him and her own eyes narrowed.]

What?!

[It carried clearly down the alleyway, the girl obviously more than a little out of sorts right now.]
