02 [Video]
[She had nightmares again. Screaming, bloody things that leave her tearing at her mind, crying out and pleading with whatever god will listen to make them stop, make it all top.
But when she opens her eyes, she finds herself calmer, grateful even to be where she is, despite not having her crew, her family, with her. At least not most of it.
So she's awake and perched on her window, watching the sun. She smiles a little bore turning on her bracelet and staring into the recording device]
This place is strange. It gives us the people we love, then takes them away again. It gives us great gifts but at the price of some of the gifts we had...
But I think about where I could be. All the places I could be, one of them being dead, and I'm grateful that I'm here. Not every day, not most days, but right now I'm just grateful I can see the sun.

[She seems to consider that, properly consider it and not just give a flat out 'No' which was her gut response.] Everything is complicated, no matter how you put it. Even the simplest things are a blending of cells which are binding it together.
Everything is always a little complicated.

[She smiles, nodding her head.] I dream about not seing it. I dream about being trapped in rooms and rooms and rooms where I could never find my way out again.
It makes me grateful.

So, I guess the way you're speaking ... I agree, River. I'm not certain I'd put it that way, but I definitely agree.

I like the gifts they give us here.
[Mostly the people from Panem that she gets to see again.]

Gifts are quieter? How do you make them do that?

It is pretty nice being in a place where we never seem to run out of food.
[...He probably could've found a better way to agree with her, though.]
