Either you all like singing in public or the gods have an excellent sense of humor.
[If it isn't Jacob, looking ever so amused at all the things he had heard on the network. Really, some of you even have wonderful voices, he's impressed.]
But either way, all of what I've seen has made me curious. Music certainly has a giant influence on most of our lives...but what does it mean to you? Is it something you listen to casually, or has anything spoken to you? Some songs can do everything from making people burst out in tears or dwell on things they thought were over and gone with.
What role does it play in your life, residents of Asgard?

I know songs were used to tell stories in old civilizations. Was it the same with yours?

[Her tone is a little shaky, as if remembering that takes a toll on her.]

I see. Music does that, sometimes. Even songs without words can remind you of things you thought or wanted to be forgotten.

That's sad about your friend, though. Perhaps he'll get another one when he's there.

Hm, what does music mean to her?]
I listen to music casually, but I've also felt emotionally moved by some songs.
I've always enjoyed music, of all different genres. I don't know if I could pick a favorite song.
How about you, Jacob? What does music mean to you?
Me? [A thoughtful look.] I guess it's a way ofexpressing feelings or emotions in a way that mere words cannot express. There's something everlasting about music...even though some words might go out of fashion or lose their true meaning after a long time, music never does.
It's eternal.

They're my favorite music group. Sometimes I can't help myself and I end up staying late listening to them.
I admire musical artists for making such beautiful things.

Music is really a form of art, isn't it?

[He sounds amused by the turn of phrase, but he doesn't comment on it anymore.]
It's a communal thing back home, then. What do you all sing about, back home?

It really is amazing. I can only imagine how beautiful it is for people who deal with it regularly in their lives.

[And this is where she gets really excited.] I love music! When we were sad, me and my family sang together.
What about you?
video
[He smiles at that image, before nodding.]
I love it too, though my family never sung together...my mother sang a few times, but she stopped when I got older.
But either way, it's good to listen to on nights when you're feeling alone. It comforts you.
