Either you all like singing in public or the gods have an excellent sense of humor.

[If it isn't Jacob, looking ever so amused at all the things he had heard on the network. Really, some of you even have wonderful voices, he's impressed.]

But either way, all of what I've seen has made me curious. Music certainly has a giant influence on most of our lives...but what does it mean to you? Is it something you listen to casually, or has anything spoken to you? Some songs can do everything from making people burst out in tears or dwell on things they thought were over and gone with.

What role does it play in your life, residents of Asgard?

Music's -- music. I think -- making and appreciating music's like having another sense. Maybe that's too extreme -- another layer to things? There's some songs that I associate strongly with a certain person or time and place ... but it's more added meaning than something essential.

Do you have a moment?

Which isn't to say that reading or hearing a certain person's voice won't produce other sorts of feelings -- ah, but that's off topic!

Well, the last time we talked I said I wasn't interested in philosophical questions. I've had an experience though and I want you interpretation.

It happened some weeks ago now -- I went to bed normally one night, and just didn't wake up. Luckily, I live with Sherlock-sensei and John-san so when they realised something was wrong, they took care of me -- Sherlock-sensei even hooked me up to the brain monitoring app on his smartphone! Anyway I was physically in Asgard that entire time, and my brain activity didn't cease -- in fact it was kind of more active than usual!

For me, it was like I was back in Tokyo. I talked to my friends, I went to school, I helped Uncle with cases ... about three weeks passed before I woke up back here. The messages I exchanged back home didn't show up on my smartphone here, but when I checked in the library, I found newspapers from my world that covered the cases Uncle took in the time I was home.

I know I was.

[It's not much more complicated than that.]

...

I never thought I'd be admitting an 'out of body' experience.

I have. Most of my friends seem more weirded out than anything by my theory that the gods might not be bringing all of us here, just the thinking, personality part of us, but I think it makes sense!
