Either you all like singing in public or the gods have an excellent sense of humor.

[If it isn't Jacob, looking ever so amused at all the things he had heard on the network. Really, some of you even have wonderful voices, he's impressed.]

But either way, all of what I've seen has made me curious. Music certainly has a giant influence on most of our lives...but what does it mean to you? Is it something you listen to casually, or has anything spoken to you? Some songs can do everything from making people burst out in tears or dwell on things they thought were over and gone with.

What role does it play in your life, residents of Asgard?

It was a big part of your culture, then?

I know songs were used to tell stories in old civilizations. Was it the same with yours?

Mhmm!

Sometimes! Witch songs can be about all kinds of things, not just stories.

What kinds of things can they be about, then?

The land, the sky... certain people... anything you can think of!

You sung about everything. Makes sense.

Did everyone know these songs or were they relgated only to certain groups of people?

Everyone could learn these songs! It would be selfish to only let certain people know them.

Were they more like poems, or are they free verse. I'm curious as to how they sound like...

Both! Words depend on pitch, tone, emphasis on syllables - things like that, so my language is really flexible.
