[There's a face that might be familiar to some people appearing onscreen. It looks a little less perky than it usually does and seems to be needing a moment before actually speaking.]

Hey. I don't know what happened, but I could swear I'd gone home for a while. But I'm back here again and... yeah.

I guess a few people missed me, judging by the messages waiting for me. I'll get to those in a bit, but I thought I'd let everyone know I'm back. Scott... I guess I'll see you when you've got some time. I hope things have been quiet and I have no idea how long I've been gone, so any heads up on that would be appreciated.

No, I suppose most people aren't. And honestly, it's hard enough to protect the people closest to us.

Yeah, it is. So I'd rather put all my effort into keeping them safe than some nebulous 'others'. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone, but I don't know them. I do know my dad and I'll kick anyone in the balls who messes with him.

No.

[And that was literally both the best thing and the worst.]

It's ... probably for the best.

Yeah, I keep telling myself that, but there's still that part that wants him here.

Both of my parents are here. And while it's not ... bad that they are, I can't deny it's a bit strange.

[They should be dead.]

They're both my age.

Right? And I don't want to tell them too much about the future. So, er, it gets complicated. What I can and can't tell them.

I hear you. Knowing stuff that you can't share all of it to the people that matter? Sucks.

Yes. And let me tell you, it sucks when you have to lie to your best friend's face.

Honestly, it's bad enough being caught up with my best mate. He's been having a hard time of things since we showed up. They both have been. I care a lot for them, but ...

[Harry is so used to how he feels that it's second nature. He's almost too capable of hitting mute.]

So I guess I wish I had some advice. I would tell them you know what happens in the future, though, just that it's better they find out for themselves. It might worry them, but ... er, I assume there isn't seventeen years of difference or anything there.

I tried that with a couple of them. That didn't exactly work.

[He had a newly plastered spot outside his door from someone's fist going through the wall.]

It's not that much of a difference, but it's enough that a lot has happened and they're a little pissed that they know I know stuff and I'm just not telling them. But really, it's for their own good.

I'm not telling my parents I didn't grow up with them. You can probably guess why. Since they're my age, they have a few years before they even have me. I'm worried about what will happen when they find out. Not if.

Overall, it's very hard to determine what's best to keep to yourself, but in Asgard, at least, there are other things to worry about.

I'd definitely advocate not telling them. It can start a lot of stuff here that just makes it that much harder to work through.

Yeah. And there's a very long story attached to it. And they might worry.

There always is and they always do. As soon as they know there's something to tell, they hound you until you tell them something. You just have to be able to keep the worst of it to yourself without them being able to figure that out.

The harder part is where I—we, really—will act accordingly to what we know. But that's a risk. That's always a risk.

It's a really crappy balancing act with no safety nets, man. I really do feel your pain.

[They were probably a little more alike than they knew, both having died for their causes, though it was kind of a good thing they came back. Booyah, death. Suck it.]
