[There's a face that might be familiar to some people appearing onscreen. It looks a little less perky than it usually does and seems to be needing a moment before actually speaking.]

Hey. I don't know what happened, but I could swear I'd gone home for a while. But I'm back here again and... yeah.

I guess a few people missed me, judging by the messages waiting for me. I'll get to those in a bit, but I thought I'd let everyone know I'm back. Scott... I guess I'll see you when you've got some time. I hope things have been quiet and I have no idea how long I've been gone, so any heads up on that would be appreciated.

No. There's another girl, Orihime, that she's co-owners with. I think that's the only reason she doesn't just give all the food away.

I think most places where you work would give you free pie because you work there.

Maybe. But would they give you free pie if you decided to quit? Because Jade's said I can have pie even if I don't work there anymore.

Maybe if they really liked you, but understood that you needed different pastures.

But that kinda defeats the whole purpose of employee discounts.

I suppose it does. Well, at least Jade doesn't seem to be in too much trouble because of her practices.

She'd better not be, otherwise there might have to be some sort of charity intervention.

Yeah, she's kind of stubborn.

Plus, she's very ... giving. Even if you aren't deserving of it.

Yeah, she kind of is. I don't know about the not-deserving bit since I'm not exactly in the know of all the people she does things for, but she's pretty heavy with the freebies.

I would recommend avoiding her boyfriend if you haven't met him yet.

I haven't, but she showed me a picture and he looks like a ferret.

That's because he is a ferret. He just can't turn into one here anymore.

Er, not quite. Some people can become animals, and he's one of them. He spent more time as a ferret than a human.

So, he's had an adjustment period here.

[Because that was more interesting than Jade's ferrety boyfriend.]

Unfortunately, no, but I've known a number of much better people who can.

[Says the guy who's best friend has glowstick eyes.]

It's not everyone. But it's a magical thing, yeah.

[He's careful not to make it sound too special, because he doesn't want Malfoy to sound special, even if Malfoy can't even really turn into a ferret.]

[He might have scoffed that off before coming here, but he was quickly learning that things didn't always happen like they did at home.]
