[Really, it hasn't been all too long since he last appeared on the network, but today's is brief and rather terse.]

Hermione's gone. That's what it means when their names aren't on the list anymore, right? She hasn't been home for a little over a day. [He'd looked, too.] So, dunno what you lot do about this sort of thing, but I know she'd a place I doubt she'd want run to the ground--

[He cleared his throat.]

Anyway, she's better off back home. This place was messing with her. Least now she can go back to school and do what she wanted. [And it's safer there.He wondered what it would take to stop them from bringing her back, but he knew that was futile.]

This happens a lot around here, eh?

I'll tell you about Jaspersprite sometime, okay? Talk about a meowing goofball.

[ Jade sounds only a little fond. At least until she huffs at that last part. ]

I've honestly never see him be such a buttface until I've seen him talking to you and Harry.

...Sort of name is Jaspersprite? Y'know, nevermind, seeing as I got saddled with an owl named Pigwidgeon.

[He snorts.]

Buttface is putting it nicely. It's always been that way, y'know. Find most purebloods get all stuck up. It's rather disgusting, honestly.

Well, his name was Jaspers, but then he became a sprite.. so he's Jaspersprite. Like how Davesprite is Davesprite.

[ It makes perfect sense, Ron.... !! ]

And none of that really matters here, does it?

Bit more complicated than that. We're technically cousins, y'know. All purebloods are related in some way, because they're uptight about keeping magic pure. So if you think muggles aren't so bad you get knocked off-- [A shrug.] Malfoy's family's taken to trying to put us out for as long as I can remember. Maybe we're not exactly magical here, but well, Malfoy's always been a snake who thinks he's better than everyone.

Ehehe. Sprite means something else.. it's complicated. My world is kind of silly, it turns out.

[ But Jade remembers pretty vividly the conversations she's had with Harry, and she chews on her lower lip. The last thing she wants to do is ignite an argument with Ron, too, even if she can't really agree with what he's saying. ]

Yes. He is a giant idiot, sometimes. I'm sorry that he's being one in front of you right now, I guess, is mostly what I was just driving at.

What else could it mean? Seeing as your witch but not a witch, yeah, s'pretty silly.

[Yeah, trying to say Draco is good is something Ron can't be dispelled of. Especially since the last memory of Draco he has is of saving him but then the idiot turning on them to save his own skin. Maybe if he hadn't there'd be a better opinion of him. But at the very least he doesn't see Jade as bad or want to bother with Draco in the same sense Harry fights with him?]

Sometimes? [It's said with a snort, but he shrugs again.] S'not your fault and it's no different than how he usually is. But you seem nice enough I've no idea why you'd go on hanging around him-- apologizing, too, supose.

We care about each other. I guess it's not something that can really be explained? But I'm nice, I promise. Anyway.. it's not really my place to speak for him! I just wanted to say that- to say sorry it's happening.

No offense, but I haven't seen Draco ever care about anyone but himself. Honestly, you're better off saving your breath. He's never gonna change so 'less you plan on apologizing everytime he shoots his mouth off.

[ Jade hesitates, shrugging. There's something a little embarrassed, a little guilty about her expression. ]

I probably will. Apologize every time, I mean.

...Why? Nothing's going to change.

Probably not. Maybe he is not the only one who is really dumb? It is possible that I am just as stupid as he is. [ Jade is still smiling vaguely, though, sheepish. ]

Being loyal's not so bad, y'know, but maybe you're owing it too much to the wrong person. Malfoys' have always been about what's best for them. He's no different. Last I saw of him was when we saved him from dying. What's the prat do to return the favor? Turn on us to try snd save his own neck. He's still a snake.

[ Jade struggles for a moment - she's not sure how to answer that, in part because she literally can't refute any of that. They've known him for so goddamn long; any argument would just start a fight. So she just shrugs slightly, expression unsure. ]

.. I'm just going after what's best for me, too. He makes me really happy? And I know he's done some really bad things -- but I'm too selfish to care that much about it. So I think maybe we deserve each other.

[ She puffs her cheeks out at him, then. ]

So, anyway! A bakery, huh? That's fun.

Would't call someone who goes around apologizing for someone else selfish, y'know. [But in some weird way he can relate. Because he feels there's a million and one better people for Hermione, but is elated anytime he thinks about the fact they kissed and moved from there.]

[A snort.]

Think we've already been over this. I'm in it for the free food.

Still, that sounds like it could be fun. Better than working at a stable, right?

[ Jade half smiles at him again, gentle and friendly. ]

Let me know if you need anything, okay? Um - I mean, I know you have Harry and other people, too! But I've been here for a long time, and I like being helpful. Just putting that out there!

Well, yeah, but if this were home I'd be working somewhere different, y'know. This Muggle business is a bit off.

[He frowns slightly, pausing for only a second. He's been trying hard not to bother anyone with his own feelings, but for some reason helping always comes up.Even if for totally different reasons and he worries. But he shrugs the feeling off and shrugs, swallowing.]

Thanks. But there's nothing to help with, really. Sure there's loads more people who need stuff out here anyway.

Well, maybe there's not right now. But maybe in a few weeks you'll be like, 'oh my god, you know what would be awesome? If I had a huge tree right here. I sure wish I knew someone with awesome growth powers.'

And then you could call on me.

[ Jade grins a little lopsidedly at him. ]

That's all I meant.

[He kind of blinks before snorting with a shake of his head, partly amused.]

A tree? Really? I'd call you for a pie long before that.

[ He's amused! At least, partly. Jade is going to consider this a victory. ]

Why would you need a pie? You just said you work at a bakery! Trees, though, hehehe. Trees are special.

You just offered a pie, didn't you? Don't see how trees are special-- it's a tree.

[ Jade's eyes go wide. ]

Oh my god I wonder if I could grow one of those crushy willow trees.

--Oh, hell. If I find a Whomping Willow around here I'm staying away from you.
