May I request more information about "New Years Resolutions"? I understand they are usually "self-betterment" requests for oneself, however, is this always the case? In addition, may I hear about resolutions you yourself have possessed in the past?

This may be a private topic, and I understand if you do not wish to reveal your intentions to me.

I never make those! Most people just break them anyway, and they're usually things like "I'll lose weight" or "I'll eat less chocolate"!

I make New Years wishes at the shrine instead! That's more hopeful!

I believe it is a wish some people make on or near New Year's Day in order to better themselves or change their surroundings. However I've been informed that many do not end up carrying them out.

Well... there's really not much else to say about them. Like you said, they're just resolutions you make to be better.

I always just make the usual boring resolutions. Y'know, train harder, try and beat some records I set last year. That kind of stuff. Not very exciting, I know.

[ It takes her a couple of moments to realize what the voice has said. Someone else know of here-so therefore like ange said she must have been here before. It's frustrating to not know the voice that belongs to the other side.

On the other side, her brows furrow a little as she tries to think of what to say, and the response comes a bit later than Morgana would have expected. ]

Are you a resident of this land I became acquainted with on my last arrival? My apologies, but I seem to have forgotten your name.

I guess they're usually things you'd like to change about yourself for the next year, yeah. I've never really thought about them before though.

In practice, they are often used for a purpose quite opposite, almost literally opposite, of their stated intentions. Namely, one resolves to abandon some bad habit, or to improve some good one, late in the year. For the rest of the year, the person will indulge in their "last" practice of the behavior that is to be removed. By several weeks after the new year, the resolution has been forgotten, with the net effect of having encouraged a greater amount of the behavior that was to be discouraged in a short time.
