May I request more information about "New Years Resolutions"? I understand they are usually "self-betterment" requests for oneself, however, is this always the case? In addition, may I hear about resolutions you yourself have possessed in the past?

"Self-betterment" is one way to look at it. But you can also consider it to be like a wish.

A wish to better oneself? Surely you are not speaking of fantastical wishes.

Heh, no. Nothing like that. But you can think of it as a wish you can help fulfill for yourself.

I do not understand. Is that not the same as self-betterment?

Maybe. But if you make an effort or something that may better improve someone else's life, then it could be different.

We have great feasts and much dancing. It is a time where all are allowed to be merry and forget the pressures of work, if only for a little while.

Uh, I think in the aspect that it's a religion?

Ah, well... my "world" celebrates Christmas as an extension of Christianity, but it is a very distant past from the modern conception.

Modern conception of gift giving? I suppose that is a bit different.
