[ The message comes at around 9pm, hopefully before anyone's gone to bed. There's a light shuffling of sheets before you hear the voice. The voice speaking is distinctly feminine. Although she seems firm, there a small hint of questioning. ]

May I request more information about "New Years Resolutions"? I understand they are usually "self-betterment" requests for oneself, however, is this always the case? In addition, may I hear about resolutions you yourself have possessed in the past?

This may be a private topic, and I understand if you do not wish to reveal your intentions to me.

Sometimes things spiral out of control and we can't do everything on our own as much as we want to.

Anyway, my other servant is here as well. He's really obnoxious though, among other things. [ DUMB DIRTY SARCASTIC TWO-TIMING BACKSTABBER WHO TRIES TO KILL HIS PAST SELF AAAAARRRRRGGHHHHHH. ]

[ Fine she'll reflect on that later but, another servant? The only other servant that fits the description she knows is--]

Then Kiritsugu's son, Archer, was your servant before me?

Yes. [ she's not gonna go into detail about how she lost him. ] But it seems like these gods want to mess with me via past, so now he's back in my life. It's such a bother.

[ there's a pause. ]

... Archer's true identity is EMIYA. [ Saber's smart enough to put two and two together. After all, she did mention that Shirou Emiya is Kiritsugu's son. ]

[ Give her a moment she's trying to make sense of all of this, she's smart but the whole time travelling thing is enough to give her a headache.]

[ Wait a second. ]

My master... becomes your servant at some point? Or has he always been Archer, and 'Shirou EMIYA' his identity?

[ The hipster archer. ]

Shirou Emiya becomes Archer in the future. He becomes my servant after I tried summoning a saber class servant. So in short, he turns into Archer.

[ There's a pause. ]

Shirou is a nice boy. Please don't judge him based on my Archer's actions. Even so, he doesn't want to admit it, but Archer's still Shirou whether he likes it or not.

[ ?????????????????????????????????????? ]

A time paradox? [ YOU BROKE SABER. Where's Merlin gdi he needs to explain time shenanigans for her. ]

Something like that. [ Second Magic, too. ] Archer probably won't talk about it though. He's bitter about everything.

I... see. [ This is all confusing for her to handle. ]

And his relationship with Kiritsugu, what do you know of that?

As I said, Archer is Kiritsugu's son.

... Kiritsugu is not alive in the future, if I remember correctly. [ It wasn't something she really thought about. ] So it's hard to say what Archer thinks of his father now. [ Other than abandoning his ideals of being a hero. ]

[ Kiritsugu.. dies? Saber does not know how to react to his death. He was a terrible master but.. certainly he didn't deserve to die. ]

... Ah.

[ well things just got awkward. ]

But he's alive right now. He seems happy, reuniting with Archer.

It may be for the better this way.

Maybe Archer will lighten up finally. Maybe things will be better for both of them in general.

[ She just wants her servant to be happy for once. ]

We can only wait for the time being.

I can only hope.

[ Pause. ]

It was nice speaking to you again, Saber. [ It's nice seeing a familiar face, even if Saber wasn't familiar with her. It kind of hurts too. ]
