01. Primus | Video
[Kaworu comes to the screen with a kind and gentle smile.]
Hello. I'm looking for a piano or a violin. I'm not sure where I can find one; not to buy - I simply wish to play for a while.
[and now that is out of the way, he wishes to ask something else]
I do have another question. Are you happy?

Either way, when he sees Charles, his smile widens]
Hello!

Hello. I hope you didn't run into any trouble on your way over. [the polite inquiry sounds more like a recitation than actual concern. showing off > small talk, apparently.]

The layout of the city is very simplistic, so even if you get lost it shouldn't take you very long to return to Sigyn. Freyr is a good starting point, though. Are you ready to see the interior? [a gesture toward Draupnir, and he's... already walking off without waiting to hear an answer...! How To Treat Strangers Well 101.]

the interior is as opulent as everything else in Freyr, but it's clear that he's either used to this scenery in general or very familiar with Draupnir itself, since he barely pauses at all on his beeline toward the hallway that leads to the greenroom and smaller stage entrances.]

kaworu follows, watching his surroundings, the smile on his lips never fading] Do you come here often?
no subject
That aside, there aren't many other places here that I enjoy spending my time at.
no subject
No? Though it's a big city.
no subject
[and swingin' into that practice room! he rents this one out on a weekly basis, so he doesn't stop for the fee. it's a pretty small room with a keyboard set up in the corner, a stand in the center without any sheet music on it, and a violin case against the furthest wall. there's a prong on the wall as well for hanging up the violin itself, though it's empty right now.]

[ Kaworu's eyes set on the piano and then the violin.
Aha.
He does want to play, actually.]
no subject
[far be it from him to stem creativity...! he ambles over to pick the case up, weighing it carefully before glancing back over.] You're certain you don't wish to play?
no subject
........ [ he is clearly conflicted ]
I was told not to, because Humans play.
no subject
I'm not and I still play perfectly well. Whoever told you that should bite their tongue since they're currently in a city filled with people who only have our miserable gods to thank for the gift of being pitifully human.
no subject
You aren't human? What are you?
no subject
he shifts, lowering the case to hold by the handle.] A chiropteran, even if I only retain the base traits as I am now.
no subject
A bat? [ because that seems related to the order Chiroptera. Yes, Kaworu reads biology a lot. And kinda knows it by heart. ]
no subject
in the mean time he's too busy looking indignant over Kaworu making such a(n honest and easy-to-make) mistake.] I should start off with a different description now, you're the third or fourth person to assume that. No, though we share a few common traits. It would be more accurate to compare us with the vampires of human legend, but even that comparison is a terrible one. In essence, we were the height of evolutionary perfection in my world, and we just happened to be hematophagous.
[his hold shifts again, and he lowers the case to the floor to pop the latches and open it.] What are you, if not human?
no subject
DOES THAT MEAN YOU SPARKLE. i'm kidding.Kaworu listens to the explanation, nodding softly at the end, always watching Charles.
Humans call my kind Angels.
no subject
and then he lit up the room like a disco ballno there is only skepticism now. he actually takes a moment to glance up from tightening the bow and plucking at the strings to convey just the right amount of it.] The white-winged, sure-footed messengers of some righteous being?
no subject
no subject
What do you consider yourself to be, in that case?
no subject
[ Kaworu decides to lean against the wall as he speaks. ]
no subject
[not enough temptation to be a rogue rebellious artist yet? he's holding the bow out, anyway!] I wouldn't say it separates you from them enough to prevent you from enjoying the few fine things they have to offer.
no subject
I suppose each of us has their own mind but not important enough to stand alone. We are one, so we are not alone.
[ He was doing great dealing with temptation until Charles holds out the bow for him. Kaworu observes the instrument and reluctantly takes it, before he moves to reach for the violin.
Aha. He gave in, in the end.
Shinji will be mad.]
