[ as the video turns on, you're treated to the sight of a confused looking young man. something that must surely be a familiar sight to anyone who's been here for a protracted period of time... though this one seems perhaps a bit more dazed than most. ]

Ah... hello, everyone.

[ despite his confusion, he manages a weak smile. his voice sounds rather calm, all things considered. ]

Let's see... I'm supposed to introduce myself, right? My name is Satoshi Houjou. It's nice to meet you at all.

Um... what else was there? Sorry, this has never happened to me before so I'm not really sure what to say. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Or am I one who's supposed to be asking questions right now? Hm... Can anyone give me some advice? Introductions sure are difficult. I'll do my best to pay you back when I can.

wow man satoshi-kun is so much cooler than battler... hm. this is kind of confusing, since the last time something like this happened, nobody except her could see it.

[ yet the sight of anyone familiar really is a welcome relief. ]

Are you alright? [ there's still a tiny amount of uncertainty left - mostly because she knows what could be happening.... she tries to sound steady, though. ] You... just got here?

[ the last time he remembers seeing her is... oh right, when he was getting taken in for police questioning... that's probably not worth bringing up again. the memory itself kind of worsens his mood a tad. ]

I just woke up a little while ago. Ah... that palace really is something, isn't it? [ what is... making small talk... ] I'm alright though. [ he stretches his arms a bit through the air to demonstrate, driving the point home. ] Oh! I'm pretty hungry though. I feel like I've been asleep for a really long time. okay she shuts the video off for a moment. this is not beautiful girl crying. sobbing at a confused, disoriented satoshi would be really awkward. get a grip sonozaki!!!!!

when she comes back, she's more determinedly cheerful. ]

Ah... It's been awhile since I've seen you! You're still as delicate looking as ever! [ yes this is clearly the way to go. ] You need to pack on some muscle, so I'll help you out by taking you to lunch, alright?

did he mess up? did he say something wrong? where'd she go? he tries fiddling with his bracelet a bit, wondering if maybe it was... "bad reception"? a child of the 80s, he's not completely sure what that means, but it seems appropriate.

then there she is again! something must have interrupted the signal... ]

You think so? [ he feels his own arm, and... oh, he actually does seem a little skinnier than he remembers. weird. ] Alright then. Should I come find you?

[ even though the other way around obviously makes more sense... ]

[ ah.... he's still as gentlemanly as ever. she genuinely grins at that - she thought that she'd have to force herself to stay positive, but it was easy to be cheerful around him. ]

I just left the castle, so I'm right outside the gates. This city really is amazing, though. It's nothing like Hinamizawa at all.

but ah a compliment from satoshi-kun........she waves, then begins her journey over. which doesn't take her very long, since she actually does know where she's going, unlike him.

however when she finally does approach him, she's hesitant. it's been a long time since she's seen him, and despite his acting the same as usual... taking a deep breath, she comes up behind him and leans over. ]

I'm extra reliable, see?

[ he'd been so absorbed in trying to figure out his device that he hadn't really noticed her until she was there. still, he just smiles as he turns to her. ]

Hey, Shion. That was fast. You really are a big help.

he reaches over and pats her on the head. ]

she thought that the era of headpats had come to an end. in fact, all this time she had spent getting used to that idea........ all brought down by one single pat!!

satoshi-kun is truly the best man of them all... despite his lame appearance and way of interacting. her eyes tear up (again) but she smiles through it. so it really was him, huh... ]

[ the second coming of the age of headpats. rejoice, shion! the long headpat-less night has come to an end.

oh, but wait... why does she look like she's about to cry? that's not usually how this goes. hm... she must have just been really lonely, that's probably it. he hasn't heard from anyone else he knows, so that means she must have been here on her own too. ]

[ she laughs at that. making fun of mion is a good icebreaker... ]

Ahh, don't worry, I'll apologise to sis for being the cuter one next time I see her. [ ... talking about mion is not the way to win a boy's heart, shion. ] We should get you settled in, though.
