[ Would you look at that Asgard, it's a little Lady. Yes, capital L and everyone who sees her probably subconsciously makes it so in their heads as well because her amber-colored hair is falling in shining waves down her shoulders, there is not a wrinkle in sight on her dress and the look on her face can only be described as aristocratically displeased. When she opens her mouth, her accent also makes it clear that what we have here is an English Lady. ]
Why is it that nobody ever asks you if you want to turn your whole life upside down to save the world? And on a similar note, does anyone offer any form of instruction or training when it comes to the use of these powers that have just been thrust upon us?
[ At least the Moon Princess magic came with some sort instinctive know-how. Wasn't much, but it was something.
Oh but wait, she missed a sort of important step here, didn't she? ]
With that said, I believe introductions are in order. My name is Maria Merryweather. Pleased to make your acquaintance.
[ Well, not really since she isn't too pleased to be here, but it's the polite thing to say. ]

Maglor's had his shots? or whatever the magical middle earth equivalent is
The lady in question does not seem to mind. [ he observes mildly, which is true enough ]
Ah, I fear that it is a common thing, in my world - a young lady ought to have an epesse or two - she shines so bright the name was easy. [ but because he may like to tease but Robin is new and he isn't that mean... ] If it upsets you so, young master, I will refrain, unless the lady tell me otherwise.
's alright, he's more bark than bite anyway
[...no offense?]
She's not shining. Completely ordinary girl.
[...some offense.]
he's used to it WHY DOES EVERYONE REMIND HIM OF HIS FAMILY sob XD
Ah, but she does. Joyful and clear. The young are ever bright. You as well, young master. [ HINT: do you want him to nickname you as well or are you going to give him something to call you, Robin? ]

[Because Maglor is old, obviously.
He's ignoring the hinting, thank you very much.]
no subject
[ His eyes shadow and dim briefly at that - for an instant, Robin can see that his guess was very accurate - Maglor is old, old, old. Ancient beyond counting - for a minute all those uncounted ages are in his eyes and that young face truly looks alien ]
Shadowed, I think. I have lived too long, and done too much to shine clearly any longer, pitya rusco.

He has no experience with meeting anyone like Maglor, so he can't see the age for what it is. Odd, it is that, and he's definitely thrown off-track.]
What?
no subject
[ Maglor shrugs off the shadows but his smile is a little sadder than it was before, perhaps ]
You will have to be more precise than that, pitya rusco.
no subject
[There's really not much he can do, is there?]
Stop.

Fox, yes? Not worm?
[Just making sure.]
no subject
[ have another small bow ]
Aye, for you reminded me of one, earlier. [ he would never call Robin a worm, for he is, in fact, quite impressed by his loyalty - not that Robin knows that, of course ]I will not use it, if you prefer - but as I said, it is common to use an epesse.

[Yes, there is a 'de' before that 'Noir' and supposedly his father is a count or something to that effect, but his education has been more in tracking, hunting and the like than anything that would make these constant foreign terms seem less intimidating.]
I don't mind, if it doesn't mean worm or anything like that.
no subject
Forgive me - the term is from my own tongue, and I forget sometimes that not all speak it - it means 'after-name' - a nickname, if you like. Among my people, names were a way of defining yourself, amongst other things - a particular epesse might be used by close kin or good friends, and a different one amongst those you worked with. [ or, Maglor says, as an affectionate term for those younger - which is the majority of the population here ]

[And he doesn't think 'disappointment' really qualifies as an epesse, thank you, father.]
Do you have one?
there should have been a 'dosen't' in there perhaps i should go to bed soon lol
Several, aye. Indeed, you might call Maglor an epesse, for it was the name I adopted when I came to the shores of Middle Earth. [ the name of a kinslayer - Makalaure died on the sands of Alqualonde, although he still thinks of himself that way ] But my family always called me Kano.
I got it ;)
What do you like to be called?
...I guess not nincompoop.
oh good =p
[ Maglor chuckles and shakes his head ]
You guess aright there, pitya rusco. Maglor will do. If you wish to give me one in your time, I will not refuse it. [ Kano is dead, he died when Maedhros threw himself into the fire, although he will not refuse it if others use it here ]
no subject
You shouldn't say that before you hear what I could come up with.
no subject
[ Maglor shrugs and smiles a little ] Lady Maria trusts you, and I cannot think that one such as her would give that trust unwisely. I have said it, in any case - and so I will stand by it.
[ here Robin, it is almost a challenge, albeit a very polite, odd one - but Maglor means it - he will accept whatever name Robin gives, as even the worse ones can't be any worse than what he calls himself ]
no subject
She only trusted me after [Hanging me upside down and making me promise to listen.] ...some time.
But I'll make sure to think of something fitting.

The best friendships often start slowly. [ Maglor says softly ]
I am glad that she has one she trusts here. Good friends are a boon at all times, but in troubled days like these they are a prize gift indeed.
I will look forwards to it then!
no subject
We didn't have that much time.
[He frowns, then shakes his head. He's overcome himself once because he started to trust Maria and he doesn't regret that.]
You have been here a while?
ok no I really should go to bed now =p seeya later~
Time enough here. [ Maglor shrugs a little ] For the nonce, at any rate. [ until the war comes knocking again ]
Not so long as others, but long enough, I suppose - some two, no, three months now. Long enough to become comfortable here, at the least.
