Well. Since we're back, and well done everyone, and we're all engaged in new projects, I would like to announce on of my own and... [He smiles affectionately.] Romana's... A radio station. 

You may have noticed it in Freyr and it seemed such a shame to let it go fallow, so we fixed it up and, with the generous assistance of our native friends, left a few absolutely free radios in the Welcome Halls of the various gods and some for sale in the electrical shops all across the city, if you should decide to get one of your own!

A radio station is no two man job, however, and as such, I would like to invite you to contribute. I want this to be a real community project. Anything that can fill airtime, be it gossip or music or whatever, I shall be delighted to hear your ideas.

[He quirks an eyebrow.] Something? No. This isn't a search for the Holy Grail of music.

But at certain times, certain songs appeal to certain people. And if they should complain, well, I shall offer them the opportunity to add their music to the mix.

Good thing, that story often ends with dead bodies.

They'd have to make it? ..I have no idea how music works in this place. ( how does that tv he saw even work? maybe he should have wondered before )

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. Can you not sing or play an instrument?

I mean, it's not like you'd be interested in broadcasting - stories.

Well, generally when one uses the perpendicular pronoun, one is talking about oneself.

[Irving is practically offended by the charge.] Of course I would! Absolutely! Stories are a perfect for radio. You can set the mood much easier - your listeners will be more inclined to use their own imaginations to enrich your words.

Who doesn't want to spend a time listening to a good story, I ask you!

That's a very human thing to say.

( and- oh, Oh, the amount of emotion in his words has Puss twist awkwardly on his chair, but. it should be okay to keep talking, right? not that he cares, he can do this if he wants )

Stories have a purpose, there's a reason why they've come to be in the first place. ( he appears very certain about this but, then again, actual fairy tale character right here ) I guess it could be interesting to have people actually pay attention...

Not especially. [He's not even human. Other than the fact that he's more or less using the language, his phrasing isn't unusual at home.]

[Irving smiles.] So you'll come in and regale us? Wonderful. What kind of stories? If it's suitable, I was thinking of an afternoon slot. [For Alice's sake, but Jamie is also bound to enjoy that sort of thing.]

No? Who else is constantly talking about themselves even when they pretend that they aren't?

I-- you're fast. Don't you want to test me first? ( okay so he got another- job? maybe? he'll certainly be better at this than playing at being a houseboy ) What do you want? There are a dozen versions of every single story. You're just lucky that I know most of them.

[He's a little puzzled, to be honest.] It would seem you. But generally, people with egos talk about themselves. And why not? There's one thing to be obnoxious, but another to be proud of who you are. And we're the best reference we have to how people might feel or act, aren't we?

If you passionately believe in stories, as you seem to me, then you won't undervalue them by telling them badly, now will you?

I want something that will appeal to our younger audience, especially. Eight year olds to twelve year olds yet, also to the older set. Stories that have adventure or a moral message of some kind, that speak to our natures, better or worse.

( that's okay, puss either ends up confused or causes confusion. )

That would only hold true if pride would be something people would experience in moderation. Isn't it typically either too little or too much though? If I'm proud of who I'm, I'm guaranteed to meet someone who'll call me arrogant.

No. ( that. was a bit more passionate than what he'd been gunning for. he'll just awkwardly clear his throat now, okay? ) I'll do it right.

..make it so that your audience could learn from it? Stories are full of things that should happen once, but no more than that.

People only complain when it's one or the other. And people have different views of what is enough or too much but honestly, there are more things to do than concern yourself with that.

Someone is going to cry again. Those people usually come to me even when they think me unable to talk.

Do you normally have so much faith in people you've never met before?

We're going to have to wait with Bluebeard's story then.

[Irving's missing something. But he also figures that it isn't so much is business either.]

I have faith in people who put themselves forward.

I suppose so.

That sounds like something that should leave you kind of bitter.

Whatever. Just - I'll come over and you can judge me. Let's hope that you can get people beside me to save this project.

Not at all. I'm not offering you my heart, here. Merely an opportunity. If I don't give you that, then I shall ever be ignorant which never got me anywhere.

[Ye of little faith.] My project doesn't need saving, thank you.

Hearts aren't something I want, anyway. They cause a lot of trouble. ( he gave his away and look where that got him. but - it's reassuring not to be thought responsible for someone else. thank you grey-haired guy, you made his life a bit easier just now )

Anyway. Whatever. I - look, I'm going to end this conversation and you can be knowledgeable and pleasant with someone who can follow your example.
