[Shortest voice post ever. Someone isn't very happy. And what self-respecting Sheikah would be, after discovering they've been inexplicably absent from their duty? None that Impa knew, that was for certain.]

[She's found herself in the Loki district on reawakening, and any passerby will find she's taken to the higher ground in order to best judge her surroundings and search for any familiar faces. Once she's reoriented, she takes off toward the Heimdall district, running from rooftop to rooftop. Woman's on a mission.]

[Impa is a while, but she does finally come to find him. She doesn't say a word, just stops and folds her arms to study him.]

[Sheik turned his head away from the window and towards the eyes he felt on the back of his head. He isn't really sure how to react. Impa was the only real Sheikah he's ever known. This woman... she seems to belong to a race more otherworldly than Impa did. He studies her long, elegant proportions for a moment. But there's no denying the numerous Sheikah symbols she's wearing.]

I suppose, from what I know about this place, I should ask you "when" you are from.

[He looks to be little more than a boy. Strong, but a boy nonetheless.] A time long before history came to be known as legends. [And that's only speaking from what she knows from Link, Zelda and her own travels.]

[His eye narrows as he tries to recall her name, and he shifts his weight to one leg uncomfortably.] If I have difficulty understanding, forgive me. Some of what she was saying contradicted much of the common knowledge of my time... Hm, I worry that I was rude to her as a result of my confusion.

My time is long before the recorded history of that girl. [In a sense.] She is my charge.

[She relaxes her judgmental stance, letting her arms fall to her sides. She can't go making him too uncomfortable, otherwise he might refuse to offer up any information.]

[He was talking about Fi, actually, but the discrepancy is lost, at least for the moment.]

[It's okay, although she associates Zelda with "spirit girl", she considers Fi her charge as well.]

[His posture straightens a bit, obviously surprised at the name. For a moment, he just stares, almost as if he recognized her.]

Ah, yes. Well. Impa, yes...

[Recognition?] I take it another shares my name. Sheikah?

[He turns away a bit, his brow furrowing. Like the rest of the Sages, Impa had died already when he was brought here. It's still hard for him, and he really wasn't expecting to hear the name of his childhood caretaker and closest friend.]

I see. [He seems bothered. They must have been close.]

I've been alone for a while now.

[He looks back to her, still looking bothered.]

...Looking at you, it feels like... I found an oasis in the desert.

[Well, it's more like looking at the last survivor of a dying race. Actually, that's exactly what it feels like to Sheik. As far as he knows there are no Sheikah left in his time except for him - and he's not even actually a Sheikah. He decides it's best not to tell her that her people are extinct in the future, though.]

How long has it been since you last saw another of our tribe?

A few years. My responsibility towards the Hero is my only Sheikah companion, now.

Duty is what binds us all. That is our way.

It was the loneliness I was unprepared for, I suppose. [For a Sheikah, Sheik seems a bit at odds with the basic tenants. Aware of that about himself, he decides to change the subject, knowing he can't reveal too much.]

Do you have an obligation towards a Hero in your time, too?

I do not. [Not really. Sort of by extension, maybe. But she doesn't feel like getting all nitpicky over the matter.]

I see. Just the royal family, then.

[He looks away for a moment.]

Does time keep moving back home while we are here?

[impa]

There is no royal family. [She doesn't know about the time, but it doesn't especially worry her at the moment.]

[He is a bit taken aback by that, but not as much as he could have.]

...ah. Yes, right. The girl mentioned there was no "Hyrule" yet... I suppose there would necessarily be no Royal Family.

In my time, a Sheikah's only duty is to the Royal Family. Can I ask... ah, what it originally was in your time, then? Was it just to that girl?
