[ time for philosophy ~]
Tell me, what do you believe freedom to be?
[ and for the less philosophical ones ] I have adopted another cat recently, which means I have now three cats. Though I've never had contact with animals before arriving here, I find the bond between an animal and a person fascinating. What sort of animals can someone keep as a companion and how do you decide what would fit you best?

Actually, somehow I've gotten a lot of pets here, too.

...I wasn't sure at first, but somehow they all get along. I'm really glad for that!

As for animals, I once had a much more limited idea of them until I went off to school. But I had an owl there, so I'll talk about her. Her name was Hedwig, and she was a brilliant owl. Owls where I come from are used to send letters, you see, and they're trained for that. There are all different types of owls that do this, of course. It depends on your preference.
text.
I never saw a owl, but I have read they were wild animals. Do they enjoy the company of people like that?

Dogs. Jade and I have two of them and they seem to work out fine for us. Prior to being in Asgard though all I ever had was an owl. My father had dogs and we had a peacock that roamed the grounds, but otherwise animals never really graced our lives. As for how to decide what would fit you best, you have to think about it in these terms. Do you want something that will drive you completely mental? Get a dog. Something that will ignore you unless it wants food or attention? Get a cat. Something that just looks nice and can be used for services? Birds. Make sense?
text;
I suppose each species has its own general personality. However, I do have a cat that is quite friendly and attached to everyone. And there is someone I know who says her birds are quite friendly as well. So I suppose there are exceptions?

And about the bond between animals and persons, it is indeed fascinating. I have three dragons, and I love them as if they were my children.
•´¯`• voice •´¯`•
We did not have dragons in the world I came from. How are they?

Are you leaving how you want here, Rue? Even with the war?

[ He doesn't sound bitter, particularly; mostly thoughtful. It's an interesting discussion. And, after a pause: ]
I'm very familiar with horses, but I've come to own a dog for the first time, here. The company is more enjoyable than I'd expected. [ He's not really a pet person, generally. ]
voice;
[ oh, horses is a new one! ]
Horses? How are they?
