Tell me, what do you believe freedom to be?

[ and for the less philosophical ones ] I have adopted another cat recently, which means I have now three cats. Though I've never had contact with animals before arriving here, I find the bond between an animal and a person fascinating. What sort of animals can someone keep as a companion and how do you decide what would fit you best?

I have a hummingbird, a Cyndaquil, a sheep, and now a hamster, too!

A Cyndaquil is... They call them Pokémon, but no matter what, they still look like animals to me. He sometimes makes a fire on his back somehow, but that seems to just be a part of him... It doesn't hurt him or anything.

So you are limited by what hurts others. Is it really freedom, then? There is, after all, so much that hurts others - can you really live without ever hurting someone and without trapping yourself?

hurting people is kinda an inevitable part of life. but for the most part, it should be accidental. or if it's a choice between hurting someone a little or hurting someone a lot or losing them forever, you shouldn't choose what will hurt the most or losing them forever. you should be trying to protect other people.

there's also no such thing as unlimited freedom. the country i'm from touts freedom as one of its most important blocks for our nation's foundation, but we have laws to keep people from stealing, murdering, and violating the rights of others and still the rights of some are violated anyways. do you really think that we should just say "nah, it's okay, go ahead"?

real freedom always has its limits. the only thing you can really hope for is that freedom doesn't become a luxury for one group of people over another.

And who decides how free one is? How far are you allowed to go in your freedom?
