Hello again. I've been giving a bit of advice out to people who need help with dealing with lost ones. I've never used it myself, actually, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea. When we got here, me and my friends, we were astonished we couldn't speak to anyone from back home. Back home, you just send an owl, you see, and you can usually find anyone you're looking for. Well, here, that isn't really possible, especially if someone's gone.

[Harry pauses to carefully consider his words. He doesn't want to sound like someone who's experienced a lot of loss, which makes this harder. His parents, Sirius, they'll wonder why he's so used to this, so he decides to leave that part out. If anyone wishes to know, he'll tell them somewhere else—or just hope that his parents aren't so involved that they'll listen to every conversation he has. They haven't given him that impression, anyway.]

My point is—I've recommended that people write letters. They might find their way to where they belong sooner or later. Luna liked the idea, and I've been considering taking it up myself. And that's just to tell people from home things.

So ... yeah. It might help. But sorry for all your losses.

[Harry feels like that's enough.]

There is one more thing. I contacted a number of people about training. Merlin, Lancer ... others. But then the battle happened and my parents showed up, and, er, most of the meetings were meant to take place during that battle, which obviously, they just couldn't. Since the bracelets have still been acting up, I've been holding off on contacting anyone again, but if you received a message from me, I'm still very much interested. I'd make it easier and contact you directly, but I'm not counting on the messages making it to you just yet.

A friend of mine was in danger, so I went to help her. The danger was the snake, of course.

How very brave of you, Mr. Potter. [But why was his friend in danger from the snake? Well, maybe she'd ask that at a later time.] Hopefully, you shan't encounter another deadly snake.

I'm hoping not. Though Henry thinks I have snakes exploding from me. Or something like that.

... Who is Henry and what sort of nonsense statement is that?

Well, see, I used to be able to speak to snakes—I was a parseltongue. And then I lost the ability in a very logical way, but Henry decided that it was because snakes exploded from my body and slithered away, and therefore, I no longer had them in me.

And, er, if you haven't met Henry yet, it might be for the best.

.... What sort of nonsense is that then? [Alice could think up a lot of things, her mind went everywhere at once every second of every minute of every hour of every day. But even her thoughts, at least she felt, had some cohesion to them. And rude or not, what Harry just told her sounded more than stupid.]

First, I should think that you would notice if snakes did such a thing to you, not even to suggest how much that would hurt. Second, clearly whoever this Henry is, doesn't seem to realize what happens when you arrive to Asgard and have powers. [Alice liked nonsense, she did, but even for her such a suggestion seemed more stupid than nonsensical.]

Well, I don't think it has anything to do with Asgard.

[Though it does amuse him that Alice is calling Henry nonsensical when some of the stuff she says is ... also like that. Not that he minds it from either of them, but it's interesting to know where her bar is compared to his (and he likes them both, though Alice much more because she doesn't like killing and hurting people and all that).]

But it was all in good humour, really. It was to make what actually happened sound far more interesting.

[Not all that surprising when the context Alice is working from is that you nearly died by a deadly snake and Henry is suggesting something exploded out of you which is sure to also be painful. Bratty? Yes. But she feels it to be justified.]

Make what happened more interesting? You mean being nearly killed by a snake and healed by a phoenix is not interesting enough.
