Hello again. I've been giving a bit of advice out to people who need help with dealing with lost ones. I've never used it myself, actually, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea. When we got here, me and my friends, we were astonished we couldn't speak to anyone from back home. Back home, you just send an owl, you see, and you can usually find anyone you're looking for. Well, here, that isn't really possible, especially if someone's gone.
[Harry pauses to carefully consider his words. He doesn't want to sound like someone who's experienced a lot of loss, which makes this harder. His parents, Sirius, they'll wonder why he's so used to this, so he decides to leave that part out. If anyone wishes to know, he'll tell them somewhere else—or just hope that his parents aren't so involved that they'll listen to every conversation he has. They haven't given him that impression, anyway.]
My point is—I've recommended that people write letters. They might find their way to where they belong sooner or later. Luna liked the idea, and I've been considering taking it up myself. And that's just to tell people from home things.
So ... yeah. It might help. But sorry for all your losses.
[Harry feels like that's enough.]
There is one more thing. I contacted a number of people about training. Merlin, Lancer ... others. But then the battle happened and my parents showed up, and, er, most of the meetings were meant to take place during that battle, which obviously, they just couldn't. Since the bracelets have still been acting up, I've been holding off on contacting anyone again, but if you received a message from me, I'm still very much interested. I'd make it easier and contact you directly, but I'm not counting on the messages making it to you just yet.
Right, that's all.

Anyway, when did you want to meet?
And soon—maybe tomorrow? I have books on runes, so I might focus on those independently, so we can start with just healing.

i am pretty sure they would just make people feel worse
[ Okay, so - maybe she has literally just lost someone pretty important to her. ]
[text]
With me and Luna, we'd be writing to a friend back home. Or with those who have lost people, they're writing to someone who has gone already, just in case they've already returned.
It might make them feel worse to know that they've lost each other, but it ... might help, too.

He smiles, ruefully, before he speaks.]
I have to admit, it's a better idea than what I had in mind.
[audio]
Honestly, I wish I'd thought of it sooner.
And ... I'm sorry you've lost someone already, especially since we turned up at the same time, right?

[Despite the flippant tone, there's something to this. ... she knows what letters can hold. But that's if they get there.]
But if they do turn up, it'll be easier to speak to them. Or the other way around: they turn up and you've gone. Sometimes it's something like this that can make you realize you've never said what really needs to be said.

Two questions for you in regards to your suggestions.
First of all, what if the owl couldn't find who you were looking for? What do you do with an unsendable letter?
And secondly, why exactly do you think it would help rather than be a hinderance?
text;
And I don't really think it could be a hindrance, unless someone has a hard time writing down what they're thinking. But writing letters in general isn't that difficult, it's sometimes the matter of what you put into the letter that makes the difference.

[His gaze hardens a little as he recalls the recent ghost activities.] Is this all because of those ghosts?
[And of course, pinged by training.] Hey, it’s good to see other people being serious about training! What kinda power did you get?
no subject
[For Harry, even if the ghosts themselves were far more aggressive and less autonomous than what he's used to, they weren't that strange and wouldn't call for this.]
It's because a lot of people have lost someone recently. I guess it's been a particularly bad stretch of it.
[He pauses because, well, subject switch.]
And I got damage drain, which is part of why I need to be serious about other areas.
