There's a large lack of books in the library about the protection of the city. I was wondering if someone can help me out? I have a few questions...I wasn't entirely certain how to get in contact with the gods to ask them, and it may be a bit presumptuous to want them to answer, anyway. [ She knows from experience. Sometimes gods get upset if you pester them with too many invasive questions. You have to be careful. ]

I guess the ice attack has just been on my mind...it bothers me a little bit. [ A pause. ] I don't think talking about it here is the best idea. But if anyone knows where I can get more information on the city itself, someone to talk to, that'd be g--

[From somewhere in the background there’s a shout--] Hey--! [And then the black tufts of one Percy Jackson’s hair appears as he moves to sit by his girlfriend.] We still have Capture the Flag.

--Right, I almost forgot. [ She repositions the camera so his (dumb) face is also in the picture, and smiles. ] Everyone should sign up for capture the flag. Well...just let us know if you’re interested. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Also, my team is totally going to win.

[That would be a nudge and a roll of his eyes.] If she can last five minutes. She totally missed my last Capture the Flag where we stormed a fort and water cannoned some Romans up the nose.. I think it’ll be the best one yet.

And he missed a lot of things while he was gone, but don’t listen to him. We’re going to have a good time, no matter who wins or loses. [ But the look she gives Percy clearly says she’s expecting to win. ]

[He throws his hands up.] Okay, fine. But I still say you better watch out. [It’s said with the same mischievous, troublemaking grin as per usual before he glances at the screen.] You owe me a movie in a few minutes! [Is he pouting? He probably is but he at least moves to get up and let her finish her message, but he’s more definitely pouting because he’s bored and she promised. She rolls her eyes.]

Fine, fine! Capture the Flag. Respond if you’re interested? We’ll tell you the time and the day, and what team you’re on. It’ll be great. . . and if you have any information about what keeps the city safe from outside threats, let me know.

[ The bracelet just catches the softer tone of her voice as she asks Percy what movie he wants (with, it might be noted, fake lamentations), before the feed cuts. ]

There is no need to feel as though you are disrupting the deities, miss. They rather welcome the chance to speak to us one-on-one. [Or.] At the very least, Thor-kami-sama has once disclose to me the invitation to speak to him whenever I wish to ask him an inquiry or need to speak to him. I believe you could search for them on the contact list as some of the deities do hold an inbox like the rest of us.

[As for her other question, the one over the protection of the city, he will only say:]

I do not believe you will find much information over the matter of that particular subject. The library is quite limited over the matter concerning this world and its history. I am uncertain over the protection of the city, but I believe I have once heard the deities explain that they are always protecting the city and its inhabitants as best as they can. But as of late, it would seem as though they are having quite a difficult time in doing so. I am uncertain on the best way to phrase it as it is difficult to determine over the current state of this world. It did not always seem like this, though.

[Then he will begin to wonder, and decide to ask.]

If I may ask, how long ago did you first arrive to this world? [Maybe he should have asked this first, before speaking as much as he did over the matter.]

I still can't get used to that. The gods at home just do what they want...usually if you want to get their attention, you have to do something dangerous, or need their help at just the right time. [ The fact that gods have inboxes? That's so crazy to her that she may laugh a little bit. ] Okay, I'll take a look for their...bracelet address.

[ Being denied information makes her antsy -- she frowns a bit, running a hand through her hair. ] This seems less like an attack on the inhabitants and more like one on the gods themselves...it's so strange. The center of town?

Yes. It will definitely take some time to get used to the way the patrons of this land are open to those whom seek their advice or help. Of course, like all lords, they will try their utmost to respond to most or all your inquiries, there are some questions they will have trouble explaining due to the complexity over the matter. I suggest seeking help of those either who have chosen you or the more mild manner ones. Sigyn and Freyr fit the roles quite well. Although, all the other deities are more than thrill to offer their services to you.

[There will be a pause at Soushi's end over her observation. He can definitely tell she is quite bright and mature for her age, so she might be under Odin's district if he had to guess.]

Indeed. This current attack is different to the usual tactics of the Frost Giants. For one, it is the first time they appeared from under us. Not even the ice fairies created this much damage... [Yet he can't offer much insight as he recently awoken from going grey.]

It's to know how long ago you have arrived. I do not wish to answer repeated or all ready known questions. [With that in mind, he will return to his more formal way of speaking.] Is there anything else you wish to know?

I'm afraid I'll have to pass on Capture the Flag, however I would be interested in helping to find the information you seek. The most likely place such books would be located is the section of the library that is inaccessible. That is my suspicion, at any rate.

As for the gods, I haven't the faintest. I have only recently arrived in Asgard, so I couldn't say. Still, from what I've heard, they don't seem very adverse to the idea of socializing with us. I'd guess that Thor and Loki are the most sociable given their history, at least on my world. [He shrugs.] How much water that holds is under consideration, of course.

Too bad. It's always the highlight of my summer, at least when we win. [ Because losing usually means she's covered in cow dung and burned and stabbed a little bit. ] But I'd gladly take any help I can get. I'm guessing that's where they are, too -- but how do you get to them if they're sealed off? I doubt asking nicely is going to work in this situation.

[ She considers... ] I can ask both of them, but I've talked to Odin more frequently, so maybe I'll start there and work out. I was never very knowledgeable about the Norse gods at home. Greek mythology was more of my forte.

Well, if asking politely doesn't work, then there's always trying to do it not-so-politely. Granted, given that magic seems to have a major part of Asgard's culture, I wouldn't be surprised if there are magical barriers in addition to physical ones.

[He nods.] Sensible. Starting with your patron and working out may be the best way to go. I suggest Loki being your last resort. He doesn't have the best reputation, and it's possible someone more...trustworthy will offer assistance first. As far as knowledge of the Norse myths, I would be delighted to compile what I know and send it to you.

You have two teams, and each attempt to capture the other's banner. Whichever one manages it is the winner.

It's a game where you see which team is better. Each team has a flag, and you have to try to capture the opposite one. No maiming, no killing, but any powers and weapons you want to use are okay.

It's a game where you attempt to take the other team's sigil, which is hidden somewhere in their territory. Any weapons and powers allowed, no maiming, no killing.

Spectators are welcome, but bring a weapon, just in case someone mistakes you in the heat of battle.

But don't worry. My team's going to get a punishment if they try and hurt anyone not in the game.
