[Today, Hibiki seems to be spending some time in the Grimoire's Sigil, for those who can recognize the background behind her. In her hands is a green plate with an array that some may remember from the past painted on it.]

Umm... Hi, everyone! I started getting a little hungry while I was studying runes, so... I thought I'd make some snack plates for everybody to use while they're here.

This one is for melon bread. If you just activate the rune like this, [She holds the plate horizontally again and presses her hand against it,] melon bread will appear!

[And so it does! One warm loaf sits on the plate, waiting.]

There's a red plate that makes cinnamon bread, too. As long as everyone's careful and keeps the plate clean, we should be able to use it for a while without having to reapply the paint. Just, umm... try not to eat off of these plates, okay? That way they can stay clean for everyone to use!

Uh-huh! I was thinking I could probably clean them off every few days or so and maintain the array myself.

[Not so much because the array is difficult, but because she kinda figures everyone else is busy with their own thing.]

How'd you learn how to start doing this, anyway? Er, the food part. We spoke about the other stuff before.

You mean the arrangement for these spells?

Well... I thought back to a demon-san I met at home who made really delicious melon bread, so I thought I'd try it too. And later on, a friend said that cinnamon bread was really good, so I made another one for that.

Er ... but how'd you guess the right arrangement? I learned a little about runes in the battle, but figuring it out myself ...

[He doesn't entirely realize he's using the wrong terminology, but he is.]

Oh! Well... when it comes to arranging, you mostly just need to think of words that have to do with the type of spell you want to make. It's all in the runic language, so you have to study it for a while, but... Once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad.

That ... makes sense, then. I managed to mimic the language during the fight with Dirk, but I wouldn't be able to come up with anything new. I don't know I didn't think of that.

If you’d like, you can come by the guild and we can teach you about it! There’s lots of books here about the runes and the language!

I’m normally no good with magic at all, but even I can do it, so… I’m sure you can learn it, too!

I'm thinking of grabbing a book and reading up in my spare time. It might be something to do while I manage things in other arenas.

I think that will be okay, as long as you make sure to return it!

Do you want me to set aside some good ones to start with for you while I'm here?

That'd be helpful, actually. Will it be easy to tell which ones are for me?

What if I put them right next to the plates? Then they'll be easy to spot!

I think that'll do it. They'll be hard to mistake then.

There's one that covers the alphabet, and another that translates words... those should be good to start with!

Huh? You didn't need to learn it before?

I learned it, of course. I had to learn the different types, but it's more ... going back to the start at all. And having it be so outside of myself.

Eheh... Maybe it's because I was still learning at home, but it wasn't so weird to start learning it here...

Mostly, I was just happy that anyone could learn how to use it.

Oh, I've definitely got some ways to go. But it's different for me somehow. I don't know why. Maybe I focus on it too much.
