What do people do for work around here? Especially those who have never had a job before. [ Penelope's got plenty of skills, but none of them are really work related at all and being stuck in a house her entire life means she's never had the chance to even think about getting experience. ] I understand it's not entirely necessary if I stay in the room I was given in Odin's house, but it would be nice to have some extra spending money. And something to keep me busy when things are relatively calm here.

[ There's a bit of a pause, as if Penelope's hung up, before she adds something more. ] I'm also looking for someone to play chess with, or someone I can teach if chess isn't something most worlds have. It's one of my favorite games and it would be nice to play it again.

I'm afraid I don't really know how to bake many things. Jake did most of that. [ Ah, the spoiled life. ] Do you enjoy baking?

Well? [ Because yeah, she heard that smug tone. ]

It's more like I run the cash register. [He shrugs.] Mum did everything. S'not like I don't like eating it though.

[About an hour after the pig latin issue was done, she's got her lab mostly cleaned up.]

I suck at chess, but you're welcome to try teaching me one of these days if we've got the time. As for jobs, there's plenty out there. Just ask around, or one of the natives'll be happy to hire you. Really depends on what you want to do.

I'm sure we'll have time sooner or later. [ She wouldn't mind teaching her, either. ] That may be a problem; I've got not idea what I want to do, or what I'm even capable of. I doubt there's much need for a horticulturist here and even if there was, I don't have the education.

Horticulture? You're an herbalist then? [She pursed her lips a little and glanced at the place. The others who were herbally inclined had always picked up odd jobs, or done their own research. She really could use an assistant.]

Are you more on the growing end, or do you know how to make herbal cures?

[Money. Oh yeah, he kind of needs some of that stuff if he's going to keep eating from the vendors through the city.

Only so much you can do in the kitchen if you want to keep the place in tact and you know... not burnt to a crisp?]

You find any work stuff to do?

Maybe. [ She's not really sure, mostly because she doesn't know what she can do. ] Someone mentioned working in a bakery, and I know someone who owns an herbal shop. [ That sells poisons... ]

I'd offer myself to play chess but right now I'm not feeling well. I'd rather not get anyone sick if I'm coming down with something. Perhaps another time?

[She's in Odin, like Sam is, so Sam assumes the answer is yes -- and if it is, then Sam may have a job for her.]
