What do people do for work around here? Especially those who have never had a job before. [ Penelope's got plenty of skills, but none of them are really work related at all and being stuck in a house her entire life means she's never had the chance to even think about getting experience. ] I understand it's not entirely necessary if I stay in the room I was given in Odin's house, but it would be nice to have some extra spending money. And something to keep me busy when things are relatively calm here.

[ There's a bit of a pause, as if Penelope's hung up, before she adds something more. ] I'm also looking for someone to play chess with, or someone I can teach if chess isn't something most worlds have. It's one of my favorite games and it would be nice to play it again.

I won't be alone. I've friends from home. Sure they'll fend me off with food and water occasionally.

You're lucky, then. The people here seem rather nice, for the most part, but I imagine they would only go so far for someone they hardly know.

Course. I mean, s'not like you know 'em too well, is it? What's the point in stopping 'em from doing something if you're not sure where they're from? Might be something they need to do and all.

About two weeks -- [ Asgard time ] -- which I've heard isn't very long in comparison to some people. What about you?

Yeah. Reckon it helps to have people you're familiar with. If only for the sake that when you get mental someone's around.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the gods feel the same. [ No one from her home is here, after all. ]

I suppose. Some people seem perfectly fine without having a job, though, or at least waiting to get one.

Yeah, I mean Hermione was alone here with Malfoy for ages it seems. Harry, Luna and I just showed up so it's possible.

Well, er, my friends and I were sort of looking for a place to get so we all had to chip in. S'not like I'd have done it if not.

No idea. Just saw the one made a scene of telling everyone about it when a whole load of people showed up.

[Don't be jealous he's kind of a drop out now.] Uh, a boarding school. Somewhere in Scotland.

Er, no. I do. S'just a bit of a private school.

[ She chuckles quietly. ] I suppose that's true, isn't it?

Oh. [ There's a brief pause - why would that matter? The names of private schools can still be public - but then she decides it doesn't really matter. ] I doubt I would've heard of it, anyway. It seems like most everyone here is from a different world, even if those worlds are somewhat similar to my own.

[He's just not sure he should say the name of it. Also mentioning it was magic wouldn't help this whole trying to be a muggle thing.] Mightn't have heard of it, anyway. You don't sound like you're from around its part.

Dunno. Definitely not Scottish, though?

[ She laughs quietly. ] No, definitely not, but I do know where Scotland is. I was actually in England before I was brought here. [ Though she doesn't have an English accent. ]

Don't sound it very much, if you ask me. [And so he points out the obvious.]

My parents don't, either, but I promise you that we lived there.
