[From where Kara comes from, because of the cylons, machines humanity made to help them, and their revolt and war against their creators, it's understandable as a result that technology suffered. People were apprehensive about it because of that, fear that the cylons could return and use their technology against them. Which turned out to be true. She has never used anything quite like the bracelet and as a result, takes a little time figuring it out. But once she does, she thinks she gets the idea after a bit of practice. She frowns at the bracelet, making sure it's on.]
Is this thing on? The frak couldn't they just give me a damned phone? Assuming others are getting this, this is Kara Thrace. I guess asking for directions back to the Galactica would be pointless, though appreciated. Because as flattering as this is, being chosen to come here and help bring colour back or whatever, I have my own war back home to deal with so I haven't got time for this. I mean, I know I'm a damned good shot, but I never signed up for this. There are cylons back home to deal with without being brought here into all of this.
[That and. Hell, this is Kara. She isn't the easiest to get along with sometimes, but for some reason these 'Gods' decided it would be a good idea to bring her here where she is supposed to just be happy and get along with everyone? Unlikely. Very unlikely. And she did not even want to think about the 'power' thing. It almost implied that they were special. And she had always hated her mother and Leoben going on at her about her being special, with her great destiny. Right. Kara Thrace and her Special Destiny. Sounded like some bad cover band or something. No way. She shakes her head, brushing some short blonde hair from her face]
I have my own beliefs, my own Gods, and these ones are not the ones I was brought up believing in. And these ones aren't the cylons 'One True God' either. If they're expecting me to be happy and grateful about all of this, they're frakking wrong. It was a bad idea to bring me here, and their timing sucks. But from what I gather, this is essentially like the brigg. We get sent back whenever they send us back and we don't get a say in it. If I'm going to be here for a while, I am going to need to find out where the bar is, at the very least. And where I can get some cigars.

They're walking toasters? [ Why, yes, she's imagining actual giant walking toasters. ]

[Lol toasters. But that is just a nickname for them the same way 'skinjob' is for those that appear human.]

[It's quiet. Almost as if she hardly dares to believe it. They had been searching for Earth, for the thirteenth colony ever since the attack, and here was this girl casually explaining it was her home.]
We've been looking for Earth. For a new place to live, ever since the attacks on the colonies. It's said that Earth was where the thirteenth tribe moved to.

[But still. Earth. So it really was out there. That fabled homeland they were searching for for years. It's almost enough to overwhelm her, to consider that, and how many were apparently living there. It might not necessarily be the same Earth if they were likely from different times and worlds, but even so.]

I hope you get what you're looking for. [ She smiles a little. ] I'm Allison, by the way.

[There's a sigh as she runs a hand through her short blonde hair, considering. That much was reassuring at least, to hear.]
How many from your home are here? Sounds like there are a few friends of yours around. Good for you to have familiar faces at least.
