[Anyone who spends any time at all with Nepeta should have noticed her absence the past day or so. She'd been just about everywhere hunting for easter eggs for a while, skipping about with two great baskets, one on each arm, and apparently throwing herself completely into this fun new game.

And then she just didn't show up any more.

Until now.]

My Pounce! Look, look everybody! It's my Pounce! She found me again!

[The feed shows a delighted Nepeta and a great white double-mouthed cat purring loudly and nuzzling all over her charge.

Yes, this is indeed why the small kittytroll hasn't been around. She's been busy cuddling her lusus, and has been for a while judging by the white hair covering her hat and coat.]

Oh, oh, this is the best day efur!

[Nepeta soon catches sight of her, jumping to her feet and waving excitedly. Pounce, however, just twitches an ear and continues her nap, or appears to.]

[Kuroneko waves back, slightly. She still has a very dazed expression on her face though. Pounce is so big...though in no time, she's going to end up right in front of the porch.]

[And once she's standing there Nepeta takes a step forward - but that's when Pounce shakes herself awake and unfolds to her actual height, yawning slowly with both great mouths and showing off an awful lot of sharp teeth.]

You made it! Hi! [Nepeta is either ignoring Pounce's little demonstration or hasn't noticed it yet.]

H-hello. I am Kuroneko--

[She suddenly freezes in place, almost like a deer in the headlights, as Pounce makes her display. This big cat was a lot bigger than Kuroneko expected.]

It's nice to finally meet you in purrson! I'm Nepeta! And this is Pou...

[She turns her head to look at Pounce while introducing her, and notices that her lusus is, quite sneakily if not completely subtly, making herself look threatening.]

Pounce! Be nice! Kuroneko is a friend!

[There's something of an apologetic purr as Pounce stops making such an effort to be intimidating, and Nepeta sighs. She'd warned her lusus about the 'dark energies' Kuroneko had warned her of, not knowing whether they were real or not, so this was probably her way of showing she's not going to be threatened by anyone.

But Kuroneko seemed to be a perfectly normal human girl!]

Is everything okay?

[Silly Nepeta, Kuroneko is a total chuunibyou! Kuroneko regains her composure and nods while starting to smirk.]

Quite an impressive animal, but as I expected, my dark energy rays may have been intimidating. I apologize.

[Nepeta can feel Pounce starting to bristle again and very quickly starts stroking her head for her, hoping to keep her calm. A lusus is used to keeping their charge safe from so many dangers on Alternia that even the mere possibility of a threat might have them lashing out.

Nepeta really doesn't want that.]

It's okay! She's still a bit jumpy from arriving. It's very different here from what we're used to, you know! Do you want to come inside?

[blinkblink]

I would not mind.

...But you would be controlling Pounce, I'm assuming.

We can have some tea.

[Nepeta tilts her head at Kuroneko, rather puzzled.]

Controlling her? Of course not! Why would I do that? [Stop her from eating someone on a whim? Yes. Controlling her? Not likely.]

That would be quite excellent.

And...perhaps you did not grasp the meaning of what I said. Maybe Pounce is different than the creatures that I encounter in my home world. So she is not your familiar of sorts?

Let's go inside then! Show us the way, Pounce.

[It's a short enough walk to the kitchen, and Nepeta keeps looking over her shoulder to talk to Kuroneko until they get there.]

Ohhh, okay, I think I see what you mean now! I didn't know you controlled familiars. It's not like that at all with us! A lusus is like a human purrent, if that makes more sense.

[Kuroneko cautiously follows, and will take the nearest seat once Nepeta shows her the way.]

It is not so much control as using one as an aid in the magical arts. Some control, of course, is necessary.

And...do you mean parent?

[Nepeta busies herself with preparing them some tea, and Pounce settles down lazily on the floor - pointedly placing herself between her troll and Kuroneko.]

Oh, trolls don't use magic! And yes, yes, that's purrcisely what I mean. A parent! Like a mum or dad.

B-but how--

[Alright, Kuroneko quickly tries to settle her confusion and regain her composure again.]

Ah, I see. How very interesting that well, such a different creature can be your parent. But I suppose it can't be helped. I do only have my human parents to go off from.

What are your human parents like?! I've never met any human parents before!

[A tea set with a cute kitty motif is brought out and arranged on the table, and once the teapot has been filled with hot water and left to brew, Nepeta takes a seat of her own.]

Ah...

[Kuroneko--well, more like Ruri--knew that her parents really cared for her, even if they weren't around at home most of the time because of their demanding work schedules. Still, that was entirely different from her stay at Asgard: at least then she knew they would come back. She almost missed them, in away...even with her Mean Nightmare Queen persona, she couldn't deny that.]

They were good parents, despite my identity. Still. They were unfortunately unaware of my true nature.

Did you do lots of things together? Did they teach you how to hunt?

[As much as Nepeta knows that lusii = parents, she still has some trouble grasping the fundamental differences between them.]

[This is rather confusing. Kuroneko didn't really want to talk too much about her own personal life either, as friendly as Nepeta was.]

N-not exactly...
