[Anyone who spends any time at all with Nepeta should have noticed her absence the past day or so. She'd been just about everywhere hunting for easter eggs for a while, skipping about with two great baskets, one on each arm, and apparently throwing herself completely into this fun new game.

And then she just didn't show up any more.

Until now.]

My Pounce! Look, look everybody! It's my Pounce! She found me again!

[The feed shows a delighted Nepeta and a great white double-mouthed cat purring loudly and nuzzling all over her charge.

Yes, this is indeed why the small kittytroll hasn't been around. She's been busy cuddling her lusus, and has been for a while judging by the white hair covering her hat and coat.]

[He doesn't seem particularly fazed by the mention of a different planet, or even Pounce's name - although he isn't quite sure if he should use the full name for her or not. In the end, he opts for just going with 'Pounce' and hoping for the best.]

Hello, Nepeta, and, er, Pounce. Good to meet ye both. If you've your own planet, though, I'd say they're definitely different. I'll admit, I'd not met too many aliens when I was living back in Scotland.

Well, apart from the one, but I didn't know he was an alien at the time. So what are ye going to do now that you've found each other again?

It's very nice to meet you too! [A loud purr comes from Pounce, presumably meaning the same thing.]

We didn't get to meet a lot of aliens in Alternia either! I've been meeting lots and lots of you here though, it's pawesome!

[She grins, showing off plenty of sharp teeth.] All sorts of things! I'm going to cuddle her and groom her, and then we'll go exploring together and purrhaps hunt down something to eat. Maybe we'll have an adventure! And we'll continue our quest to find the fountain of cute, oh yes.

Oh, aye. I suppose we would be aliens to ye, at that.

[Funny how that works, doesn't it? A crooked grin appears in return, even if he can't match her when it comes to pointy teeth. Adventures are something he can agree with.]

Well, ye certainly don't lack for enthusiasm, do ye? What's this fountain of cute you're talking about, though?

Of course you are! Like we are to you. It's a matter of purrspective!

It's easy to be enthusiastic about doing things you like. And the fountain of cute is a mystical magical fountain! If you find it and drink from it you'll become irresistibly cute and adorable furever!

Then it'll be even harder for people to say no when Pounce and I make kitty eyes at them for treats!

Aye, well, I can see where that could be useful.

Ah, just out of curiosity, what sorts of treats? I'd imagine they'd not be the same as ones us humans would want.

Sugar cubes and chocolate and sweets and cookies! I think humans like those too, don't they? Pounce doesn't like all of those, of course, but she does like sugar cubes, and some milk now and then, and crunchy biscuits if there isn't any chocolate in them.

Aye, some do. Well, maybe not sugar cubes so much, unless you're putting them in your tea, but yes, mostly.

I prefer fruit myself, but I've a friend who's fond of sweets. Or he was. I've not thought to ask either of him if he still carries them around here. Maybe if he does, though, he'd be willing to share. Or I suppose I might if I get any.

I like them in tea, but they're good on their own too!

[They are also the reason Nepeta seems to be on a neverending sugar high.]

I like some fruit. Like strawberry cheesecake and blueberry muffins! [Nepeta, that is not the original form of fruit...] You'd do that? Really really?

[Put enough blueberries in a muffin and it completely counts as fruit, though.]

Well, I'll not promise I'll be able to get any. If the Doctor doesn't have that still I'd have to try and find it on my own and I don't know my way around here so well just yet.

But if I do...aye, I'd be willing to share. Would ye be willing to tell me a bit more about this Altar-place ye come from in exchange, maybe?

The Doctor! I've met him, he's nice. And friendly! I like him.

Oh, yes, yes, of course! I'll tell you now if you want, you don't have to give me treats for it. ...but I'd still like to share them later if you do find any!

Aye. He's from my world, actually. Well, not my world exactly, but we've traveled together a long time now. Or we did, but he's from later on than I am now. Actually, both of him are, but...ah. It's a wee bit complicated to explain.

If ye don't mind telling me about your home, though, I'd not mind hearing about what it's like. And when I do find some sweets or sugarcubes, I'll let ye know.

Oooh, I see! ...I think. Except for the both of him part. But that's okay, I'm just glad you have a friend from home here!

All right! But is there anything in purrticular you wanted to know? Alternia is...was very big.

I'll not say as I understand that too well myself, but sometimes it's easier not to worry about it with the Doctor. But, aye, let's see...

How about ye tell me what it was like where ye grew up?

I can do that!

Pounce and I chose ourselves a nice big cave in the wilderness to be our hive! There weren't any other trolls around and it was just plants and beasts and lots of places to explore. We would climb trees and go running and if I got tired she'd pick me up in one of her mouths and carry me home, and then she'd groom me before dinner and put me to sleep in my recuperacoon. Some nights the weather wouldn't be too good to go out so we'd stay in instead, and I'd draw and draw and draw, all over the walls of our cave!

Oh, aye. I see. Were ye not lonely, though?

[It certainly sounds as though her days were pretty full, however, what with exploring and drawing and being groomed. Not to mention that other thing.]

And what's a re...recup...whatever it was ye mentioned?

No, no, I had plenty of friends to talk to online! And a couple of times we went visiting.

It's what trolls sleep in! A recuperacoon. It's filled with sopor slime to stop us having nightmares and it's very cosy. I don't have one here, though.

People ye talked to? Ye mean with something like one of these bracelet-things?

[Because he's not entirely sure what she means by 'online', in this case, and that's about as close as he's able to get with figuring it out. As for sopor slime...well, there's a very blank look on his face for a second or two before he frowns a bit.]

If you've not got that re-cup-er-acoon here, though...have ye been getting on alright without it?

With my husktop! It works sort of like the bracelets do, I think.

[As far as she knows, at least. While she's good at using tech, it doesn't mean she particularly understands how it all works.]

I didn't have it back where I was for a while either. It's a bit difficult sometimes, but if I make myself a nice big pile to sleep on I'm usually okay.

[He has no idea what a husktop is either, but assumes it's something native to her world. And he's not too bad at making it sound like he actually understands some things sometimes, even when he doesn't.]

Well, could ye not build something like it here? Surely there's something someone could come up with that might do. Or at least something ye could combine with your pile to help when just the pile by itself doesn't work.

Oh, no, I couldn't, I don't have any idea how things like that work! Equius might, he's good at those things, but sopor slime would be impossible to make purrobably!

I'd have to discuss it with the others...

Ah, there's more of ye here, then! Maybe you'd be able to figure something out, if that's the case.

What's this sopor slime do, anyway?

Oh, yes, yes, lots of us! It's good having so many of my friends here too, yup yup!

Uhm... [HOW DOES SHE EVEN DESCRIBE IT, it was just supplied to her and she used it, that's all.] I think there are chemicals in it that seep through our skin and stop our brains from giving us nightmares?

Aye, I could see where that might be tricky to duplicate, then.

Well, at least you've got Pounce now to help keep ye company. I'd imagine that'd make up for not having that sopor slime stuff some.

That's true, it will! Having her to snuggle with for naps will make me feel very safe so I can sleep well for sure.
